About the property

This three bedroom (sleeping six) cottage is cheerful, newly refurbished and will provide an ideal base for a holiday in Margate! With one large double bedroom, and two with single beds, it will cater for most family groups and has a spacious kitchen and living room. The kitchen boasts ample workspace, a five burner hob (and pepsi light!) and is fully equipped - with a table seating six or more. The living room seats seven with TV, DVD, stereo etc. A private, sunny terrace garden to the side is great for summer barbecues and also for secure storage for bicycles. The house is a (brisk) 5/8 minute walk from the Old Town and Margate beach - and is also close to the Cliftonville beaches. Buses to Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Canterbury stop close by and there are 2 (!) supermarkets within a short walk.

  • The main front first floor bedroom is spacious, has a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and dressing table. The other two are not so large but are an adequate size for sharers. The single beds can be lifted together to make a double but the duvets will be single. Both single bedrooms have storage.

Fantastic house, very warm and welcoming.

We arrived late on the Friday and was welcomed with a clean and well equipped house. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would ever need, even beer in the Fridge!!! Tea coffee and milk.

The house is a very spacious 3 large bedrooms , 1 bath/shower toilet room and a second toilet.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the house was in easy, 8 minutes, walking distance to Margate town centre.

Whilst there we visited the sandy beech of Margate, dreamland, Hornby visiter centre, The spitfire and hurricane museum, shell grotto, vue cinema and Broadstairs beech. My slight regret was discovering the small cinema in Broadstairs and not visiting it, worth checking out.

Highly recommend and we will be back.

We all had an amazing week.

When we arrived we couldn't wait to explore the house.We loved everything about the house even the unusual room/cupboard at the top of the stairs.I loved the vintage style of the house and relaxing in the evenings sitting in the sun trap of a garden.All the amazing art work on the walls and the beds were very comfortable.It was ideally located,just a short walk to Old Town,the Shell Grotto was breathtaking and only a few streets away,also having Aldi at the top of the road was so handy.The house is ideally situated,It was also great knowing that Christine (the housekeeper) was living next door,she is lovely and so helpful.I would highly recommend this property to my family and friends.We were sad to leave at the end of our holiday but lots of fond memories were brought home.We had a fab time.

Margate is a fantastic base for a holiday in Kent - recently voted amongst the best 10 global vacation destinations by the Rough Guide! Not only does it have wonderful and quiet sandy beaches (some of the cleanest in the UK) and great swimming - but there are some really interesting places to visit during your stay. Top of the list must be the Turner Gallery where there is always a stimulating show on - absolutely free! Over the last few years the picturesque Old Town has been transformed into a retro shoppers paradise with many quirky shops, bars and cafes. Yesterdays can be explored in the Museum or take a trip to the mysterious Shell Grotto and try and figure out it's secret. Margate has lovely beach walks, one of the best fish and chip shops in the UK and a historic jetty to watch the Turner sunsets from! Margate's neighbouring seaside towns, Broadstairs and Ramsgate are both worth a trip and the beautiful cathedral town of Canterbury is a short hop away. If that isn't enough Sandwich, Whitstable and Faversham will all reward a visit and are easily reached by bus or train.
