Abbotsford is a traditional 19th century cottage less than a five minute walk from the R&A and the Old Course, set in a small secluded terrace with private tranquil green and off street parking away from the bustle of North Street. The accommodation has four double bedrooms which can be arranged as twins or doubles over three floors.

Since there are very few reviews of this house I was a little concerned that it was not a legitimate listing, but took the chance to book and prepay and we were very pleased.
The 4 bedrooms with 8 twin beds and 5 bathrooms were perfect for our group of 8 golfers. All of the beds were very comfortable and there was always hot water no matter what your shower schedule. The ground floor contains the cozy living room/lounge with just enough room for all of us to sit and talk or watch the lone TV in the house. To me, having only 1 TV is ideal. That means that you can always get away from it if you want. The kitchen is also cozy, with a large table and 8 chairs. It's stocked with more than enough plates, cutlery, glassware, and pots and pans. We cooked dinner in 1 night with no problems. That also then made the dishwasher appreciated. Our golf was enjoyed through 7 days of rain, so the washer/dryer got a lot of use as well. We had two vans, and with a little help from a fellow golfer I was able to gingerly navigate the driveway into the parking area. Our second van was a little larger and that driver chose not to park by the house, but found a free parking lot right across the street. The best part of the house is the location. You can walk anywhere you want in the small town of St. Andrews. The 18th green of the Old Course is less than a 5 minute walk away, and the 3 main streets of St. Andrews are within easy walking distance with the Tesco grocery store about 5 minutes away. Fiona Clark was very easy to communicate with, always returning emails within a few days. I do wish that she would take credit cards, Paypal, or HomeAway payments. I had a hard time with the bank transfer, so I sent personal checks for the deposit and the final payment, still not sure that this was a legitimate listing. After the final payment was processed, Fiona Clark gave me an email address and phone number for Lynne Tait, who manages the property. She also was easy to reach by email and phone. Lynne met us at the property and showed us around, explaining how to use the appliances, etc. She even left a few food items for us to use to get started on our first day in town. Lynne was great to deal with in every regard. As the group organizer for a bunch of friends, you always hope that everyone is happy with your choices. Location location - just excellent - had a family stay here for Graduation week and brilliant as everyone could walk around town and go back and forth from the house. The house was very well appointed with everything we needed and the beds were comfortable, hot water readily available and nice fluffy towels. Bonus of the breakfast food left on arrival which really served us well having flown in from the US. Lynne welcomed us and showed us around and pointed out some good restaurants. She arrived promptly for check out. Would recommend visiting Eden Mill distillery and brewery.
We had a group of 8 golfers on a vacation to play at the Home of Golf. The property is perfect for such a group as it has 4 comfortable twin bedrooms, a kitchen and living room that seat 8 and 5 showers. The location is great as it is a short walk to the Old Course as well as to many pubs and restaurants in St. Andrews. Wifi and SKY sports is included and the property manager stocked the kitchen with some provisions to get us started. Modern, clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend to both golfers and non-golfers alike.
I usually don't leave reviews, but my golf buddies and I had a great time in the flat. Was as described and very clean. No problems during our stay and Lynne was great w/ customer service (Couldn't find the silverware). Flat was very close to the Old Course and we walked w/ our clubs to the course. A few notes: driving into the parking area will be challenging if you have a larger vehicle. It can be done but be patient . Be prepared to climb stairs especially to the 2nd floor bedrooms. Lastly, accepting payments via PayPal or some other Internet service would be easier rather than international bank transfers. We would stay here again on our next visit to the Home of Golf.

A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the applicable weekly rental is payable at the time of booking and the balance must be paid eight weeks before the first day of your stay.
You should vacate the property by 10.00 am on the final day of your stay. You should let us know in advance your estimated time of arrival so we can make arrangements to have you met on arrival.
Pets are not permitted in or on the property.
The property is non-smoking.
A £400 security deposit is payable 8 weeks before the first day of your rental – this will be refunded in full when the property is left as it was found.
Bookings are made in good faith with the belief that the property will be available to you on the date stated on the booking form. If, for any reason, due to circumstances outside our control, the property is not available, we are unable to guarantee provision of alternative accommodation. In the event of this happening, the deposit and the balance will be refunded in full and you will have no further claim against the property owners.
