Welcome to Paradise. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, you've come to the right place. We offer an alternative to the impersonal hotel experience in a 2,000-square foot inland home on a quiet, neighborhood street near the Island Country Club. The public beaches are 1.25 miles away. There are no bright lights or noisy crowds to detract from your relaxing getaway.
Our philosophy is to encourage guests to take advantage of all the wonderful outdoor amenities on the island, from the beaches to fishing, sailing, kayaking, personal watercraft and more. The house is equipped with a heated pool, a spacious lanai with full-day sun exposure, cathedral ceilings, central heat and air, dishwasher, ceiling fans in all rooms, bar stools, patio furniture, beach chairs and toys, pool toys, tennis rackets, books, DVDs, board games, bicycles, a portable crib, piano, a pool safety gate and more. There are televisions in the main sitting area and the master bedroom.
Another important feature: the home is eco-friendly to minimize your exposure to toxic chemicals. The house was painted using low-VOC paint. There is no carpeting - it is all tile, from the floors to the kitchen countertop. We provide handmade soaps as well as chemical-free and environmentally-friendly products such as toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, dish and laundry soap.
We try to use and help local businesses as much as possible. The furniture includes handcrafted beds and tables from a woodworker in Missouri, our adopted home state (we lived on Marco full-time for several years).
Among our favorite activities are going to Marco Movies (which also serves dinner), eating at Summer Day Market for lunch, walking to the library and Mackle Park, visiting Goodland, a small fishing village, camping and playing at Collier-Seminole State Park just off the island, eating at Food and Thought in Naples, sunset dining at the beach hotels and of course, hitting the water(Weis Guy charter captain, Jodie Weis, lives right across the street).
Our friends and very nice neighbors remain on the island, so let us know if you want to get hooked up to local happenings.
Also, please ask about specials for two or more week stays during season and return visits. And let us know what we can include to make your family's vacation an even more memorable one.
We lived on Marco full-time and like to return each year. The vacation rental allows us to do so while sharing this wonderful place with others.
Ellen or Alan purchased this house in 2000
The original owner built the home for her family and added many special details in tile work, placement of rooms, sliders and large windows.
Our street is only one block long and has no traffic. The house has so many nice touches. It is designed after B&B's without the second 'B'.
My husband and I are looking forward to our sixth stay at Ellen and Alan’s comfortable, well-kept Marco Island home and will be packing soon. Even though we feel like it’s our home away from home, we look forward to discovering Ellen’s annual additions or updates. As repeat renters, we can assure you they are a pleasure to work with, as well as attentive owners. The layout of this spacious house separates two sets of bedrooms, as well as two living rooms, providing sufficient privacy for two groups of friends or family. Although…like another recent reviewer…we also bring a non-stick pan, the kitchen is well-equipped…whether your visit is a few days & you mostly eat out or a few weeks & you enjoy cooking. The house is centrally located on the island in a quiet neighborhood, making walking or biking to many places a breeze. Near the beginning of your stay, be sure to check out the early morning guided walks at Tigertail Beach: http://www.conservancy.org/offsite/nature-walks/tigertail
We had a perfect holiday a very nice place, very spacious house.
When we pulled up we were amazed at the beauty of this home. We had 2 adults, 2 teens and 2 children and it was big enough for us all. The pool was fun, the kids loved it. My son met some nice kids next door he played with. Marco island and Naples were amazing. I will definitely plan another vaca here and hopefully stay in this home .. Thank u for having us!!!
The property is near the beach and all the stores. My family had fun riding the bikes and relaxing at the pool. Evreything was in order
and functioning. If you are planning to cook I will recommend to bring a non-stick pan.
This was a very nice home! I did not go to the beaches or else where we used it as a stay over waiting on our new home to be ready. It was not good for my handicapped father but otherwise it was a very very nice home. Get an exterminator! Too many ads on the counters for me.
House is equipped to charge Tesla and other electric cars. Bicycles, helmets and lock provided for guest use - great cycling around the island, including to beaches. Numerous activities for kids at library and parks. Waterfront walkways, shopping and dining, churches and synagogues, senior activities like bingo, restaurant-style movie theatre, hotel activities like massage, spas and kids' days, organic produce and health food store with cafe, chiropractor and Chinese herbalist, farmer's market.
