Perfect Vacation Location

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect location for a summer vacation. Our entire family was able to relax and we were able to find activities that everyone could enjoy, including our little dog and even our preteen daughter! The view of the lake was incredible and the convenience of the lake being just steps away from the door was wonderful. We can't say enough wonderful things about this rental. We have beautiful pictures of our vacation. The house is well kept and you can feel the years of history the owners have had in this wonderful home. The owners were gracious and helpful and a pleasure to do business with. With any luck we will find ourselves back here again in the future.

Look Elsewhere

  • 1 of 5

My family of 3 kids, dogs, husband and parents rent in the White Mountains every summer and have been doing so for years now. This is by far, the worst rental we've had. We had the courtesy not to leave a bad review upon our departure, but the owner filed a damage claim seeking more money for ridiculous extraneous charges such as trash, usage of toilet paper (8 rolls), supposed broken shower curtain (there was no damage to the shower curtain) and a supposed messy yard (we spent the whole morning cleaning everything diligently) so here is our honest review of the property.

** Wall to wall carpeting in most of the house looked old and is horrible for how wet things get.

** House decorum is void of any personality unlike many other rentals in the area. There's a few very old pictures on the walls. Very drab and not comfortable.

** Kitchen was not well stocked. Some BBQ utensils were falling apart, dishes looked like flea market specials. We had to purchase a potholder and left it there so other guests wouldn't have to purchase one. Well traveled rentals usually have things like spices and other tidbits guests leave behind to stock the house. This place was bare and was in need of everything.

** No extra amenities that I've found common in other rentals like boardgames, dvds, water toys, kids toys, etc. Zero.

** Washer in basement was not hooked up (we were told it would be able to be used), dryer was nonexistent. We had to do laundry at JEM in Conway.

** Yard that leads to the waterfront had bits of trash and dog poop from other guests that we had to pick up during our stay.

We got an email claiming that $80 of our damage deposit was being taken for cleaning the front yard (no idea what they cleaned?), the usage of toilet paper (according to the owner 8 rolls should last weeks), trash(which I agreed to the owner I'm ok with paying for as I have a big family and we cook alot, so we had a lot of trash) and a broken shower curtain (complete lie). This just does not add up to me.

The only positive about this location is the beachfront and views of the pond were stunning. This is the first rental in all of our years coming up to the White Mountains where we've had a less than stellar stay. If you're looking for a home to rent with character, charm and owners who pour lots of love into their property, then look elsewhere.

Great spot on a beautiful clean pond

Thanks Roberta and Bruce for renting your property. That place is a hidden gem in a great location. Kayaking, swimming and fishing from your property was awesome and the place was very clean and nice for our family. I hope to visit again next year!

Peaceful waterfront getaway

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay here! From our 2 teenagers to our Dog we all didn’t want to leave! The home is very cozy and there was plenty of room for all of us to spread out and relax! The views from the deck are beautiful and we enjoyed cooking out, roasting marshmallows, swimming and fishing all weekend! Roberta was a wonderful host and was very accommodating! We will definitely be back to stay here again! If you are looking for a peaceful stay in a beautiful location I would highly recommend booking a stay here!
