Local attractions :- Europe longest Market (it is a must as a local attraction). From your apartment 5 minutes walk to Walthamstow market.

Walthamstow Market has been in operation since 1885, and it still remains Europe's longest street market, taking up the entire length of the high street. The market stalls sell cheap clothing, hand bags, bric-a-brac, fresh fruit and veg, books and second hand CDs amongst other things, with traders loudly touting their wares to passers-by. The busiest days by far are Fridays and Saturdays when getting from one end of the street to the other can become quite a chore. Luckily you can dive into one of the local caffs, pubs or the pie and eel shop for a breather. On Sunday mornings, a separate farmer's market operates just off the high street, on the Town Square opposite the shopping mall, which sells organic fruit and veg, cheeses, meat, eggs and bread.

Holiday Property is 20 minutes by tube (Blackhorse Road or Walthamstow Central tube station - Victoria line) to the City centre.

The property is located 15 minutes walk or 8 minutes by Bus from Forest road to Blackhorse Road tube station (Victoria Line).

Lovely & Comfortable Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a couple of weeks. It was ideal for our family of 4 (Husband and 2 children). Th apartment was clean and comfortable. The photos accurately reflect the apartment. It had all the facilities we needed. The garden was really big and lovely. Would love to come again but in the summer and enjoy a nice glass of wine out there. Check in was really easy and the man, (James, I think) was really helpful. We wanted a slightly bigger pot and the next day he bought a brand new one and dropped it off.

When I think how convenient it ws to get into Central London, it was amazing value compared to renting something in Zone 1. We were looking at apartments in zone 1 and they were 2 -3 times the price. It was about 15 minutes walk to the tube station and only about 20 minutes to the centre.

In the local area, there are lots of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Found a nice vegetarian cafe. A really diverse area with a great market.

Would recommend to anybody and would definitely come back and stay again.

Unclean and dirty flat

  • 1 of 5

The worst flat which I have ever booked. Very unclean and dirty, awful smell inside. The mattress and dump in the walls. I informed this flat owner but he explained there had been some build-up of condensation leaving marks on the wall.

The kitchen were very unclean and old, the water in the bath did not drain at all. Very old and dark carpets. In the first floor very noisy neighbors.

Owner's Response: CLOSE SHAVE!! Not really surprised by the review. On the first day, we had aggressive phone calls from them saying it was cold in the apartment. The email we sent to them included all the info on how to turn the heating on. When we tried to tell them to go to the kitchen and turn the switch on, they refused. They were extremely aggressive and finally one of my colleagues had to travel 30 minutes late at night to turn the switch on for she refused to do it herself. Then, the complaints and threats started. She said that the apartment was not clean. enough. We had the apartment professionally cleaned for the booking. However, we said we were happy to get a cleaner in for the following morning, She said that time was not convenient. We offered other times and other days but she continually refused and was evasive. They then said that they had called the council for it was a health risk and asked us what day we wished them to come to the apartment and meet with the authorities. They then asked for compensation. it was very strange since they continually refused to have us come and inspect and clean the property. This all seemed extremely odd, pre-planned and dodgy. We then had complaints from neighbours and hence, we called their bluff and indicated that we HAD to inspect the property in the next couple of days. Reluctantly, they accepted. We visited the property. Yes, there was marks on the wall in the 2nd bedroom that were hidden behind the bed. This was condensation caused by the double glazed windows being left permanently shut when the central heating is left permanently left on. These marks were cleaned in 5 minutes. We then asked for their other complaints which they struggled They then said that the bulb in the kitchen was not bright enough. We put in the brightest possible bulb and they complained that it was the same brightness as before. They indicated that the water in the bath drained too slowly for them. When we proceeded to inspect and use some drain cleaner, they suddenly said it did not matter and that it was OK. We asked for identification from the guests but they refused to show any. After that, we did not hear from them again and their threats stopped. We counted the days until they left. We were quite worried that the apartment would be damaged after they had checked out. Although, very messy we were relieved that there was no damage.

two weeks stay with family (2 adults, 3 children)

  • 4 of 5

We found the appartment very suitable for us as a family with two adults and three children (9, 4 and 2 years old) for a two weeks stay. Although the appartment is not very large, we had enough space (one bed room for the adults and one for the children). It took us about half an hour to travel to city center by tube. The communication with Edwards was very pleasant and we always received promt answers to our questions. We only had very little remarks. These are as follows: In the beginning we were facing some problems with the washing machine. We were missing the coffee machine. Although the appartment matches exactly with the photos, it appears a little bit more modern than it actually is.

Good value for the money

  • 4 of 5

This apartment was a good value for the money. Walthamstow is a diverse, working class area, full of regular 'non-tourist' people, and we liked that. I wouldn't say the apartment was luxurious, but it was clean and functional --the water was hot, the beds were comfortable, the TV, stove and washing machine worked (once we figured out how to turn them on!). I think the tube ride was about 20 minutes to the center of London, but it was also a 15-20 minute walk to the station, or about the same time if we waited for the bus -- so it was really more like 40-45 minutes to central London. The photographs were accurate. Lena met us at the apartment, and she was very nice. I would recommend this to a friend.
