The cabin will comfortably accommodate up to eight people and is a great getaway location for family and friends of all ages.
This was just the place I was looking for....ALL the amenities, seclusion, and privacy. The owner was very personable and made sure everyting was right for our stay. Excellent fishing. Though not in the heart of the Adirondacks, the area was beautiful and not subject to the vacationing masses. I will stay here if I ever again vacation in upstate New York.
What a beautiful place this is! My wife and I stayed 5 days and planned on relaxing. We soon realized that relaxing was the last thing on our agenda!
From canoeing and kayaking the beautiful lake this cabin sets on, to hiking the waterfall trails at each end of the reservoirs in the river chain, there's plenty to do. We caught all kinds of smallmouth bass and chain pickerel over the week.
There's also BarkEater craft brewery and Tug Hill winery in a nearby town.
The cabin itself and the property it sets on is amazing. We could tell the owner takes great pride in it as it is kept it great shape.
We loved everything about the cabin and plan on visiting again!
My wife and I along with 5 teenagers (16 to 19) - girls and boys, just returned from a week at McCormicks. The pictures and descriptions don't do this wonderful place justice. Mike and Wendy are great hosts and we thank them for allowing us to stay at this little piece of heaven. A special thank you to son Josh for all the extra effort he made to make our stay special. Mike - the fishing and hiking tips were spot on, thank you.
There are so many special features about this location it would be difficult to list them all. One that stands out however is there is room to spread out and find that quiet spot. The fishing was excellent. No one missed having TV - at all.The cabin is spacious and is set up perfectly. I would certainly keep this on my list of places to do again - John & Nancy
If you are looking for a place to get away from it all and enjoy peace and serenity, this is the place for you! There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy (swimming, boating, horseshoes) and if you're an ATV enthusiast, it can't get better than this!
There's no TV or video games but our teen and "tween" daughters didn't miss it at all. There are so many games and things to keep them entertained!
The cabin is very neat and clean and it has everything you'll need. The owners made the process of renting a "breeze"!
Don't forget to stop at the Croghan Meat Market, Croghan Candy Kitchen or Wishes Ice Cream stand while you're there -- all are fantastic!
