|Minimum Stay||4 - 7 nights|
The Monte Rosa is a 3 bedroom Attic apartment, with a beautiful vaulted wooden ceiling. It has uninterrupted views of the north face of the Eiger. Light floods into the very spacious open plan 3rd floor apartment living area from 'floor to ceiling' windows. Take in the stunning scenery from the large south facing balcony. Enjoying evening meals from the comfort of the dining table, with a view of the sun setting on the Eiger vista, we are sure you will agree, is a very special experience.
The 120m2 apartment sleeps 6 (3 bedrooms), with two bathrooms (there is a bath, and a free standing shower), one of which is en suite to the master bedroom. Two of the bedrooms have double beds, and the third has 2 twin beds. The Monte Rosa has a fully equipped kitchen, with high spec appliances. The apartment has its own private covered parking space (under the chalet). There is wireless internet connection, satellite TV, and DVD player provided. There are laundry facilities downstairs. Both a cot and a high chair is available if needed.
The chalet is located in a very quiet private road. It’s both a short walk up to the town centre, and a short walk down to the Grindelwald Grund train station. Conveniently there is a ski bus stop very nearby too. Whether skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer, or just exploring Grindelwald and the surrounding area, the Monte Rosa Attic is a perfect base.
Yes, we did enjoy our time in Europe and especially at your property. We would love to recommend it to our friends and family.
Had an amazing stay with 4 adults and 3 toddlers for a week in the apartment and all the organization as well as the host was excellent !! Will definately be looking them up again for the future Grindelwald visits !!
Views of Eiger and mountains are outstanding. Particularly liked help provided by "D" the manager. Close to town and all transportation. Very clean. Good to work with. Would go back again.
Spent 9 nights here late June/early July. The apartment is very spacious and very nicely finished with good facilities. The climb up the stairs to the top floor apartment is rewarded with the most spectacular views in all directions. The balcony gets good sunlight all day and we spent hours, day & night, taking it all in & enjoying the views. When feeling more energetic, Grindelwald village is just a short (uphill) walk away, with the train station being one of the first things you come to. We had driven to the apartment and did not use the car once while there. The weather was very good with temps in the mid 20s on several days. With it being not quite high season the villages & transport were not too busy & reservations for restaurants not needed. We will go back to Grindelwald again and cannot imagine staying anywhere other than this apartment when we do.
Spacious, modern apartment with amazing views of the Eiger from the huge floor to ceiling windows. Booking was quick and efficient, the apartment manager was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
We enjoyed this very clean, well maintained apartment. Everything has been anticipated for the well being of the guests. There are enough trash bags, dishwasher tablets, cleaning products available for the stay. There's even a Nespresso coffee machine with some capsules. Wifi works great and there are plenty of local and international channels on TV. The huge balcony would deserve some lounging chairs to really be enjoyable. If we come back to Grindelwald, we would definitely (well..it depends if you add those lounging chairs... :-) rent this attic again
The penthouse ("attic" doesn't do it justice) was amazing. The views are stunning, just as advertised. There is a large communal area with plenty of space for resting and dining. The kitchen is new, but could do with a bit more equipment (baking trays, large pots, tongs etc). Some of us are pretty tall and knocked our heads occasionally on the roof beams at the edge of the kitchen (the roof is cathedral style) and the extraction fan - beware! The three bedrooms were smallish, but fine. The two bathrooms were well maintained. The whole place is clean and modern. There is a good sized balcony looking out on the Eiger. The apartment is on the 4th floor and there is no lift, but we knew that ahead of time. We did not drive, but there is undercover parking under the building. The apartment is a short (about 5 mins), but somewhat steep walk from Grindelwald train station and the bus stop (buses take you to First and Manlichen gondolas). Dermuid ("D" in many of the posts) gave us a great introduction to the apartment and things to do in the area. We stayed over Christmas and had a wonderful time. We highly recommend the skiing, train to Jungfraujoch (expensive - 180 euro, but awesome), visits to Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen (watch out - Trummelbach Falls were closed at the time we went, so we wasted a bus trip and about 1 hr) and Wengen.
