___________________________________________________

Alphabet Place is a sophisticated spot – exposed bricks and honeyed wood are paired with a palette of cream and coffee, and black and white photography is artfully arranged. In the smart living area, you’ll find a collection of art books and magazines on the coffee table before the generous sofa. The French doors frame views of the street below, and open onto the pretty balcony. Head down to ground level for strolls along Avenue C or in leafy Tompkins Square Park, and with plenty of stylish night clubs the East Village is well-appointed for energetic evenings, too.

To taste

Your host is a man-about-town who loves Manhattan's energy. When he's not working out he’s exploring the neighbourhood's bars and eateries.

The right blend

Enter into the neat study area – a rounded desk with seats for two, lit by an anglepoise-style lamp. Around the corner, the living area is inviting with modular coffee tables, shapely wooden vases and textural throws, while the kitchen is neatly tucked to one side. All dark cabinets and smart appliances, there’s a versatile breakfast bar set for cooking and dining. The bedroom offers wide views of the tree-lined streets and is brushed with soothing hues, and the bathroom has plenty of personality with a rubber duck shower curtain and bright tiles.

About Owner / Property Manager

onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.

Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Manhattan

Considered part of the Lower East Side until the early 1960s, the East Village became a haven for iconic artists, poets and musicians in the 1970's and 1980's housing the likes of William Burroughs, Lou Reed, Keith Haring – and the Queen of Pop herself - Madonna.

With its famously fractured history, the fact that the East Village has become one of the most dynamic places to eat, drink, shop and lay roots is not lost on the old timers who still reside in the area. Recognized as the center of the counterculture movement, its punk past intersects with a gentrified version of the neighbourhood that sees Wall Street wizards mingling with art world acolytes.

Precocious cocktail dens churn out some of the world's best drinks, while the restaurant scene teeters between the cheap and cheerful to romantic, date-night spots. Brunch is a rite of passage for New Yorkers, so get out the door early before the late-night revelers make the wait unbearably long.

Take in a live show at one of the many musical haunts or roam the streets for fun vintage finds. Although St. Mark's Place has succumbed to a restaurant chain or two, there are still homages to its rough-and-tumble past. Tattoo parlors offer up excellent ink work, and you can purchase a pair of form-fitting tartan pants.

What makes this apartment unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
