In the town centre, fully renovated 53 sq.m apartment with 10 sq.m terrace

The apartment is located right above the Alfama, in front of the Miradouro de Graça and the Castelo Sao Jorge, in an authentic and bustling area on the heights of the Alfama hill. It was renovated in 2013 and is now fully equipped. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen a dining room, and a furnished terrace.

- Bedroom 1: queen size bed (160 cm), two windows (one of which has a balcony and offers a view of the town and the 25 de Abril Bridge)

- Bedroom 2: bunk beds (90 cm) + extra bed

- Bathroom with a bathtub

- Dining room with view of the convent of Graça

- Comfortable sofa bed (Rapido system) for 2

- Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave oven, espresso machine, washing machine, refrigerator, and induction hobs

- Terrace with barbecue/plancha, table for 4 to 6 people

The apartment is not overlooked on the side of the terrace. The building faces the Graça Park. It is located in a very quiet area and offers an exceptional view of the Old Town (with the convent of Graça, the Alfama hills, the Castelo Sao Jorge), the Tage and the 25 de Abril Bridge.

The apartment is ideally located in the heart of the Graça district, 100 m away from the terminus of the famous Tramway 28. The area offers plenty of restaurants and shops (5 bakeries and cake shops, 2 fishmongers’, 3 butcher's shops, 1 supermarket...) as well as many services (launderette, cybercafé, gas station, banks, newspapers...).

The apartment is fully equipped with dishes, towels, and sheets.

It is located on the third floor of an historic building (typical façade covered with azulejos) which was entirely restored in 2013.

You only need 10 minutes to get to the airport. There is a large taxi station 100 m away and the metro is within walking distance or you can take the Tramway 28 to get to it. If you have a car, you can easily park at the foot of the building, which is quite unusual in Lisbon.

Fabulous View!!

My friends and I stayed at this property for a week this June and really enjoyed it. The views were amazing and it never got old to watch the dog park drama unfold below. The apartment was clean, well stocked, and quiet. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was roomy enough for the stuff of 4 people. It is very close to some spectacular viewpoints of the city, and just a short walk up a very steep hill are great bakeries, restaurants, pharmacy and grocery stores.

The ONLY reason that I pondered giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that it’s location can be quite difficult if you are not in good shape. It is up a very large hill and then 3 flights of stairs from the Metro stop. If you have large baggage, I highly recommend taking an Uber in lieu of coming up the hill from the metro station. We had to leave once and come back once each day because we knew that the return walk would be quite a workout! For younger folks or longer stays that may not be a problem. It is actually very close to the trolley line to the Alfama, and is not to bad of a walk to the Alfama IF you know the less steep route. It took me a few days but I did figure out ways to avoid some of the larger hills. I would recommend that the owner provide a bit more insight on ways to minimize hill climbing by utilizing public transportation or Uber - maybe a good hint sheet for the vacationers. I would rent this place again now that I know the tricks to avoiding the hills and really hope I get an opportunity to come back!

Great location, property needs a bit of maintenance.

Great location as a base to explore the city. Our children enjoyed the small play area next to the flat. Joao was helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately, the bedrooms had some patches of damp and rotting skirting boards which were in need of maintenance.

Great place to stay in Lisbon.

Easy access to the Metro, great views of the Castle, easy access to restaurants and groceries. Not for those that have difficulty with stairs or hills. Lovely views of the park out back.

A Complete Disregard for Customer Service & Abdication of Responsibility

I have spent a few days making up my mind on whether to write the following critique. I decided to go ahead for two reasons: 1)The person “Joao” who was acting for the owner “Erland” blamed me for the fiasco, which I think is completely unfair and, 2) The owner “Erland” in his response, stated that he had delegated all responsibility and offered no apology.

On Sept19th, I contacted the owner “Erland” about renting his apartment. I indicated that I was a bit nervous and wanted to sort out the details (apartment location and access) well in advance. I also said I would be arriving by bus. On Sept 22th, Erland sent me an email giving me apt address and that a person called Ana would meet me at the apartment. He also said he would “remain at my disposal should I need any additional information or help”. On September 23rd I got an email from someone called “Joao” who operated something called “Lisbon Smart Stay”. I thought the email was probably a scam because: 1)Erland had not mentioned him in his email to me; and, 2)Joao gave me advice on getting from the airport when I had indicated that I was traveling by bus.

I therefore did not immediately respond as I could not risk having my computer compromised. I sent an email both Ana and Erland asking whether they knew Joao. Neither responded to my question. This, to my mind confirmed my suspicion that Joao was to be avoided. Sept. 28th I sent two emails to Erland and Ana regarding my arrival time at the apartment. September 30th the following all happened:

I sent an email to Eland asking where Ana was as she was not at the apartment; My wife and I were now at the apartment sitting outside with our luggage. I tried to phone Erland at least 2-3 times but the number he had given did not work. I got another email from Joao asking where I was. As I was using my phone, I decided to respond and I asked where Ana was. His response was: "Like i informed you on my first message to you i'm the one welcoming you. You should have told me before arriving to the house. I'm going to meet you now". I responded by saying: "We have been waiting since 2:00 pm". His response His response was: "On the 22nd of septembre i've send you an email to which i had no answer." My wife and I had now been sitting on the sidewalk for 2 1/2 hours. When I finally got ahold of Erland, there was no apology. He had delegated all responsibilty. In my world that attitude does not cut it. There's more details but I have had to truncate the tale
