Guestbook comments from the manager

Growler Cottage is a lovely "home from home" traditional cottage. It is very comfortable and everything we needed - warm & inviting, fantastic location in the centre of Bowness and lots of amenities.

Merlin (our shihtzu) had a lovely time and says thank you for the treats and toys.

We will be visiting again in the future and will definitely receommend.

A real home from home

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to the Lake District and we were very impressed with the area and the cottage. Growler Cottage was perfectly placed, it was a very short walk to local shops - we found both the co- op and Tesco very well stocked - the lake was minutes away and there was an abundance of local restaurants for anyone wishing to eat out. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped, a real home from home. We parked easily every day. An added bonus was the amount of information provided eg local maps, takeaway menus, info on national trust sites etc. We would stay here again without a doubt and would highly recommend this cottage. We hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay at this warm and cosy cottage. Perfect location seconds away from all of the amenities of Bowness, with a Co-op and Tesco minutes away but also lots of restaurants if you're eating out. Very well stocked kitchen with everything you could ever need. Comfortable beds and plenty of space for relaxing after a day exploring the Lakes. We didn't bring a car and it was a 20 minute walk (max) to Windermere station or very easily accessible by bus/ taxi. Lake Windermere is less than 5 minutes away.

Super

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in Growler Cottage. The property was extremely well equipped and there wasn't anything missing. The area was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the walking. It was wonderful to be able to bring our dog and she really appreciated the little treats left for her. Overall I would definitely recommend this property.
