Guestbook comments from the manager

Growler Cottage is a lovely "home from home" traditional cottage. It is very comfortable and everything we needed - warm & inviting, fantastic location in the centre of Bowness and lots of amenities.

Merlin (our shihtzu) had a lovely time and says thank you for the treats and toys.

We will be visiting again in the future and will definitely receommend.

Clean and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We stayed nearly a week at Growler Cottage and had a very enjoyable stay, it was convenient to everything you needed right in the middle of Bowness on Windemere. We had trouble with the remote on the TV on the first night we there, but Tracy sent somebody around immediately to sort it out. Brilliant. Pat and Brent Miller Auckland New Zealand.

They have thought of everything!

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic cottage! Lovely layout, great location and very comfortable. They, really, have thought of everything. From the milk in the fridge, teabags in the cupboard and the biscuits in the jar! Everything you need after a 5 hour drive. Rooms are a lovely size and beds are very comfortable. All mod cons are available and it would quite easy just to sit in the lounge, with the French windows open, and just relax. But, you would miss all the great things to see and do in Bowness lovely, dog friendly, restaurants, cafes and bars. The shopping was great and less then ten minutes walk from Windermere and the boat trips. Parking was easy with the parking permit or a car par park at the end of the road. We highly recommend the cottage, you won't be disappointed, a real home away from home!

Very comfortable cottage near centre of Bowness

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is ideal for two couples or a family of four. The decor is light and simple and the beds are comfortable so we had a good nights sleep. Peaceful location as no through road but limited parking and had to reverse onto main road to get out.

Blessed with excellent weather and Bowness was busy with visitors. Went on a local walk to Post Knott viewing point and around Windermere golf course. Beautiful sunset at the harbour. Plenty of places to eat, booked as busy, however supermarket across the main road is well stocked to eat in if preferred.

We visited with friends for three nights to spend quality time with them and to relax and this we did!

All you need for a fantastic trip to the Lakes!

  • 5 of 5

Growler cottage is a great base for the exploration of Windermere and the surrounding area. The property itself is spacious and well equipped - all you need for cozy nights in or a comfy bed after a day climbing the peaks! The location is central with lots of restaurants/ shops near by. Our initial concerns about parking were soon dismissed as we were able to park outside the cottage each day. All in all I highly recommend growler cottage.
