Freestanding with own kitchen, bathroom, living room, amazing views

Freestanding cottage with own bathroom, kitchenette, living area and upstairs bedroom with super comfortable double bed. We have a baby cot available for a child put to 2.5 years. 2 bikes are included in the price!

The cottage is on the same grounds as our house, surrounded by our large beautiful garden, with open view over the countryside and next to the canal That leads straight into Amsterdam! We live in a perfect place just 10 minutes from Amsterdam and 15 minutes from lovely trips to Volendam or Marken and the rest of Waterland.

So it's the best of both worlds: close to the city and still you're in a nice and quiet area with lovely views over typical dutch landscape with meadows and grazing cows.

We have 2 bikes available included in the price for biking trips around Waterland, with it's cute historic villages, or you can rent a boat and explore this area from the water or even navigate your way into Amsterdam for a trip to the Van Gogh museum, Anne Frank house or see stunning new architecture on the waterfront of the IJ.

Coffee and tea are always available, as well as a few basics to get you started.

Nearby is / are a pancake restaurant, tea garden, organic farms to visit, dress yourself up in Volendam like a true fishermen or find yourself in Marken, a village like it was 100 years ago where you can watch How They carve wooden shoes or just enjoy the Amsterdam museums, restaurants and nightlife! Also the Zaanse Schans with its old windmills is well worth a visit.

There are lots of things to do and we would Gladly help you with tips, maps and planning.

Who are we? We are Bas & Margot, our children Bink and Pippa, and our cat Mimoun. Up till five years ago we lived in the center of Amsterdam, our beloved city. But Because we wanted more view and a bit of quiet, we moved here ... and have not regret it since!

This is the ideal place to visit Amsterdam, we left our car there and the bus stop is at few hundred meters. In a few minutes, we arrived at the Central Station. We enjoyed the quiet of the countryside on the edge of the channel. The cottage is simple but very fonctional and Margot, the owner, greeted us with smiles and kindness. She's available to give practical explanations to tenants and she speaks french well. We had a very pleasant stay .

Only 10 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station by bus, very calm, clean and cosy cottage.

The hostess is extremely helpful to make our stay most enjoyable ( advice, free cards to visit museums, cards for reduced bus fares, precious advice for visits and restaurants...). To top it all, Margot speaks fluent French and perfect English ! 👍👍

Cozy little house

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic time and very friendly and helpful hosts!

The house is very nice, but really small and cozy. It works for two people, but keep that in mind. It´s equipped simply with the most important things.

So don´t excpect too much space our luxury and you will have a good time!

The surrounding is great, you can cycle to amsterdam or take trips throughout Waterland.

It´s definitly different - in a good way - from the typical amsterdam appartments and you can have a great holiday there!
