Peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was perfect. Margot is a wonderful host, who will give you privacy, yet will go over and beyond to insure your pleasant stay. The cottage is just perfect for 2 people, located in a quaint village with birds and cows at your window, yet only a 10 min car ride from the city center. Bikes came in handy to explore the gorgeous countryside and get some exercise after delicious Dutch cuisine. Clean, comfortable and peaceful.

Lovely place, beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a lot to stay at Margots little cottage, although the weather wasn't very nice, it was very windy. Bus is close, and we appreciated to have bikes during our stay. :)

Perfect for our honeymoon

  • 5 of 5

Margot was the perfect host to us during our honeymoon stay. I’ll admit, we weren’t prepared for the 1km bike ride to the bus stop, but that was on us! The cottage was the perfect spot to get away after sightseeing all day in Amsterdam. A little far out from city center (about 25 minutes total between bike and bus to Centraal Station) but with planning on our part it was no problem! Margot and Bas were perfect, glad we stayed with them and would come back again the next time we are in Amsterdam!

Small cottage with steep ladder to bedroom

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Amsterdam property but compared to other homeaway properties at which we have stayed in the same price range it has some limitations.

1. Limited kitchen facilities

2. Bathroom facilities just adequate

3. Upstairs bedroom not mentioned in the advertising

On the positive side Margot is a wonderful host. The position on the edge of Amsterdam is superb. Bus 1 km away. Easy access to Zaandaam and Volendam by car. Bikes are available and Margot had a prepaid travel card ready to access buses

Cozy place and perfect location + bikes!

  • 5 of 5

Margot was extremely helpful and kind! By providing two bikes and being located right on the bike path, Margot's place is perfect whether you're looking to explore Amsterdam itself or make it out to the smaller villages and sights in the region. We loved being able to explore and come back to a quiet place in the countryside. I'd highly recommend staying at Margot's place as your home base to explore Amsterdam and the surrounding region.

Wonderful location, beautiful scenery, and delightful hosts

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my two children (ages 4 and 2), and we loved it! The colors inside are bright and cheery, the views out the windows so lovely, and we really enjoyed walking the canal, which was full of ducklings while we were there.

It is very easy to get into Amsterdam Centraal, and if I ever go back to Amsterdam I would stay here again in a heartbeat, I highly recommend staying here!
