Milverton is in a great position for exploring the whole of Anglesey with all its natural beauty and also North Wales. Rib ride trips on the Straits just a few minutes walk away. Milverton is a great location for the annual Anglesey Half Marathon in March and the Menai Bridge Seafood Festival in August. Lots of stunning walks close by including to Church Island on which stands the old and historic church of St Tysilio and of course up onto the Famous Menai Suspension Bridge from which there are amazing views

You could never tire of this view

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a wonderful week in this lovely cottage. We have been visiting Anglesey for over twenty years, although this is the first time we have stayed in Menai Bridge. The cottage is light, bright, spotlessly clean and very well equipped.

The views over the bridge and straits from the front of the cottage are spectacular, with light flooding in, even on a rainy day (which does happen from time to time in North Wales).

Highlights in Menai Bridge included a Ribride along the straits, walks across the bridge and through the Botanical Gardens on the Bangor side (plus a sneaky practice on the University athletics track for our 7 year old son, inspired by the Commonwealth Games) and delicious meals at Dylan’s.

Perineal favourites include the beach and forest at Newborough, the beach at Rhosneigr, browsing the shops in Beaumaris and eating at The White Eagle and The Oystercatcher. Also highly recommended is the new find of Catch 22 in Valley.

Anne, the owner of this cottage is very prompt and helpful when responding to any queries and goes out of her way to make sure guests have everything they need. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely cottage with stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

My first time visiting Anglesey and staying at Milverton cottage for a long weekend and it really didn’t disappoint. A perfect place to unwind and relax from the city. Milverton Cottage is a lovely fully equip cottage in a stunning location overlooking the Menai Bridge. We were very lucky to have the sun shining the whole weekend which was great to sit outside in the courtyard and enjoy the beautiful views. A great location for exploring Anglesey and the North Wales coast. I hope to return in the future. Many Thanks Anne.

Owner's Response: Thanks very much for your lovely review and pleased to hear you enjoyed your first visit to Anglesey, which I hope will be the first of many! Good to hear you enjoyed staying at Milverton and found everything that you needed, as we always think it’s a very well equipped cottage, and a great place to unwind and relax from busy city life! You were lucky with the lovely weather you had, so you were able to sit out in the garden, overlooking the Menai Straits and to enjoy all the beautiful views! And as you have said, Milverton is in a great location for exploring the whole of Anglesey and the North Wales coast too! I very much look forward to welcoming you back to the cottage again on your next visit to Anglesey!

Owner's Response: Thanks very much for your lovely review. Pleased you enjoyed staying at Milverton and found it spacious and beautiful with all the home comforts and thought it’s location cannot be beaten, as we feel the exactly the same! Although all the amenities of Menai Bridge are within a few minutes walk away, looking straight out onto the Straits from the cottage is always very relaxing and therapeutic and a view we never ever tire of! Hope to be able to welcome you back to Milverton if ever you come to Anglesey, as you would be very welcome.

Brilliant place

  • 5 of 5

What a great cottage! We travelled up on Friday night from London after work, it was of course dark when we arrived. The view that we woke up to on Saturday was simply amazing. We were so lucky with the weather, it was February but you would have thought it was the summer, blue skies. We rented a car to explore the island further which was amazing. A great place to escape to with friends or family. We will definitely we returning. Milverton has a very special feel about it.

Milverton Cottage is set in a fabulous location, elevated above the Menai Straits and just 5 houses away from the famous Thomas Telford Suspension Bridge which spans the Menai Straits, connecting Anglesey, (or Ynys Mon as it's known in Welsh) to the mainland. The island's entire 125 mile rural coastline has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty and features many unspoilt sandy beaches.

Milverton Cottage is in a quiet and peaceful location in the small town of Menai Bridge ( Porthaethwy, in Welsh) overlooking the water, which is the natural habitat for numerous birds and other wildlife, and so if you are a bird watcher, there's nowhere better to stay than here! There are many small islands near the town, including Church Island, where you can visit the tiny, ancient church of St Tysilio, and is a beautiful walk from Milverton Cottage along the Belgian Promenade overlooking the Menai Straits. As Milverton Cottage is on the coastal footpath, there are lots of beautiful walks right on your doorstep, and for the more adventurous you can pick up a Rib Ride from the office, right next to Dylans Restaurant.and obviously Dylans Restaurant is fab and always worth a visit but always wise to make a reservation in advance because they often get booked up quickly as its extremely good and very popular!

Milverton is well positioned for all the amenities of Menai Bridge, such as a variety of shops, including Waitrose, numerous pubs and restaurants, a museum and plenty of different water sports etc. It also hosts a few popular events in the town every year. In August there is the Menai Bridge Seafood Festival and at the beginning of March, it's the Island Race which is a half marathon race which starts on Menai Bridge and the competitors run along the road right in front of Milverton Cottage. There is also a Menai Bridge Fair and Carnival held in the town too at different times of the year.

There's plenty to do for people of all ages and interests and at all times of the year. Anglesey is jam packed with masses of different things to do, such as visiting South Stack Lighthouse, the Sea Zoo, a Model Village, Motor Racing Circuit, Phili Butterfly Palas,The national Trust house of Plas Newydd, Llanfairpg, which is the shortened name for the longest place name in the country, golfing, coasteering, rock climbing, abseiling, kayaking, mountain walking, gorge scrambling, canoeing, canyoning, diving, sailing, wind surfing, etc. The nearby town of Beaumaris has a fantastic Medieval castle and an old jail, both really worth a visit as well as lots of beautiful Georgian houses and interesting shops, galleries and museums as well as a pier, a Life Boat Station and plenty of cafes and places to eat!

Milverton Cottage is also very well place, not just for exploring the whole of Anglesey, but it's also very easy from here to travel to all the attractions of North Wales, such as Snowdonia, the Electric Mountain at LLanberis, the Zip Wire at Bethesda, and the famous Italian Village of Portmerion, just to mention a few! I'm sure if you decide to book to stay at Milverton Cottage, you will absolutely love it, and maybe you might become one of our growing list of our regular guests who end up coming back to stay, year after year, because they have loved the cottage, the views and the area so much!! And Milverton is certainly a cottage where it's great to stay at anytime of the year, whatever the season or the weather! It caters for everything, as I think some of our guests' reviews point out! Please get in contact if you need any additional information of any kind and I would be happy to contact you.
