Milverton is ideally placed for all the amenities of Menai Bridge which are within a short walk away. Stunning location with superb views over the Menai Straits. Waitrose only a few minutes walk away as well as lots of good eating places including Dylans, overlooking the water. Milverton is in a great position for exploring the whole of Anglesey with all its natural beauty and also North Wales. Good place to stay at all times of the year as near to beautiful beaches and also the mountains of Snowdonia and the Electric Mountain at LLanberis and the Zip Wire as well as interesting historic qcastles. Rib ride trips on the Straits just a few minutes walk away. Milverton is a great location for the annual Anglesey Half Marathon in March and the Menai Bridge Seafood Festival in August. Lots of stunning walks close by including to Church Island on which stands the old and historic church of St Tysilio and of course up onto the Famous Menai Suspension Bridge from which there are amazing views

Beautiful cottage with a stunning view

  • 5 of 5

A lovely immaculately presented cottage which is very well equipped with everything that a family needs for a relaxing holiday. The ever changing view of the Menai Straits is stunning and was appreciated by all of us, including our 22mnth old grand daughter who delighted in having a safe and unobstructed view through the glass verandah! Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review and so pleased that you thought Milverton was excellent, immaculately presented and well equipped because we've tried hard to make it this way! Good to hear you all had a relaxing time staying there, and enjoyed the view of the ever changing Straits, which is always stunning and very therapeutic. We hope you will be able to come back and stay again and hopefully next time for longer, as you would be very welcome. Anne and Gerald.

A gem of a cottage

  • 5 of 5

Milverton is an absolute gem, immaculately presented and superbly equipped.

It offers superb views of the Menai Straits from the verandah literally yards away from the water's edge at high tide.

There is a wealth of wildlife to observe as well as the boating and canoeing which is never obtrusive.

Milverton is in an ideal location to explore the surrounding area.

As I said, a gem.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your lovely review and glad you think Milverton is a gem of a cottage which is immaculately presented and superbly equipped because we've tried hard to make it that way! Pleased to hear you enjoyed the views from the cottage and the garden too, onto the Menai Straits, where as you say, there is always something of interest to look at! We think it's a real bird watcher's paradise because there is always such an enormous variety of interesting wildlife to see from the cottage. And as you say, the cottage is well positioned for all the amenities of Menai Bridge and the rest that Anglesey has to offer, because it's very easy from here to explore the rest of this beautiful island. Anne and Gerald.

Could not ask for more!

I would like to reiterate the sentiments from the prior glowing reviews. The communication level was unparalleled and the house was both a wonderful place to stay and ideally situated for travels throughout Anglesey, Gwynedd, and Conwy. I would not hesitate recommending this place for anyone who plans a trip to north Wales!

Perfect stay, yet again

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd long weekend at Milverton and I'm sure it won't be our last! We came to do the Anglesey half marathon and had an excellent time, the cottage is easy to find and close to the Menai Bridge. The interior is wonderfully decorated and has every convenience that you could need, which truly makes it a home from home. The views are stunning and it is lovely to wake up every morning to it, we will be back!

Anne is very friendly and helpful and always makes sure that we have everything we need, thank you very much.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review and it was a pleasure to welcome you back to stay at Milverton for a second time and pleased to hear that you would like to come back and stay at the cottage again. Good to hear you had an excellent time and thought that the cottage had been wonderfully decorated because we had a complete blank canvass to work on, having totally gutted, renovated and extended Milverton a few years ago and had an awful lot of fun being able to choose everything new and work out a theme for the cottage. And yes those views are always such a real plus to wake up to every morning, nothing nicer than lying in bed looking out onto the water! Anne and Gerald.

Fantastic stay at Milverton Cottage. The house was stunning and in a beautiful location. It had exactly what we needed and much more. Anne was fantastic, couldn't do enough to help us. She kept in touch regularly and responded to queries straight away. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Comfortable, Charming, Convenient, Good Value

  • 5 of 5

I needed a break away from working life in London and came across the listing for this brilliant cottage in North Wales. It was actually very easy to get too and when we arrived late on Thursday evening felt rather knackered and just wanted to throw ourselves onto the sofa to relax. In your own home this is easy, in a rented cottage not quite so easy to pull off. Anne however has set-up such a charming, beautiful cottage that both of us felt immediately comfortable in. Tidy and comfortably decorated with a spacious ground floor to move around in, I knew I was going to enjoy the weekend here.

All the furniture and fittings were in good condition, you had contact from Anne whenever you needed a quick answer and she was even able to recommend a charming restaurant to go for dinner one of the nights. Good water pressure and modern boiler for heating and hot water, would love to add that the decoration was well thought out and I really enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. Bed was very comfortable, and the sheets were clean and good quality, plenty of room to put everything away for our weekend.

The view is spectacular and e even moved the sofa to be in front of the window one morning just watching the world go by! Later that day I remember going for a walk upstream and coming across Church Island, definitely don't remember seeing a building this old before. It was very cute and I now have some of the photos of this island up in our flat.

I can't wait to return, and whether it be for Christmas, New Years, Easter or Summer I can imagine Anne and her beautiful cottage will be very accommodating. Book in advance, speak to Anne for advice and if you want to explore North Wales use this as your base. Enjoy!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your lovely review. So pleased to hear you had a lovely time staying at Milverton and thought it was charming, comfortable, convenient and good value for money as we would totally agree with all of that! Glad you thought that the decor had been well thought out and that all the furniture and fixings were of good quality and in good condition, because we always try very hard to make sure this is so, and that the modern boiler did its job well! A walk along the Straits from the cottage to Church Island is always spectacular and always worth a visit to the tiny, ancient and interesting church there. We look forward to welcoming you back to Milverton again soon, although a word of warning, the cottage is extremely popular and always gets booked up well in advance, so always wise to plan and book well ahead!

Milverton Cottage is set in a fabulous location, elevated above the Menai Straits and just 5 houses away from the famous Thomas Telford Suspension Bridge which spans the Menai Straits, connecting Anglesey, (or Ynys Mon as it's known in Welsh) to the mainland. The island's entire 125 mile rural coastline has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty and features many unspoilt sandy beaches.

Milverton Cottage is in a quiet and peaceful location in the small town of Menai Bridge ( Porthaethwy, in Welsh) overlooking the water, which is the natural habitat for numerous birds and other wildlife, and so if you are a bird watcher, there's nowhere better to stay than here! There are many small islands near the town, including Church Island, where you can visit the tiny, ancient church of St Tysilio, and is a beautiful walk from Milverton Cottage along the Belgian Promenade overlooking the Menai Straits. As Milverton Cottage is on the coastal footpath, there are lots of beautiful walks right on your doorstep, and for the more adventurous you can pick up a Rib Ride from the office, right next to Dylans Restaurant.and obviously Dylans Restaurant is fab and always worth a visit but always wise to make a reservation in advance because they often get booked up quickly as its extremely good and very popular!

Milverton is well positioned for all the amenities of Menai Bridge, such as a variety of shops, including Waitrose, numerous pubs and restaurants, a museum and plenty of different water sports etc. It also hosts a few popular events in the town every year. In August there is the Menai Bridge Seafood Festival and at the beginning of March, it's the Island Race which is a half marathon race which starts on Menai Bridge and the competitors run along the road right in front of Milverton Cottage. There is also a Menai Bridge Fair and Carnival held in the town too at different times of the year.

There's plenty to do for people of all ages and interests and at all times of the year. Anglesey is jam packed with masses of different things to do, such as visiting South Stack Lighthouse, the Sea Zoo, a Model Village, Motor Racing Circuit, Phili Butterfly Palas,The national Trust house of Plas Newydd, Llanfairpg, which is the shortened name for the longest place name in the country, golfing, coasteering, rock climbing, abseiling, kayaking, mountain walking, gorge scrambling, canoeing, canyoning, diving, sailing, wind surfing, etc. The nearby town of Beaumaris has a fantastic Medieval castle and an old jail, both really worth a visit as well as lots of beautiful Georgian houses and interesting shops, galleries and museums as well as a pier, a Life Boat Station and plenty of cafes and places to eat!

Milverton Cottage is also very well place, not just for exploring the whole of Anglesey, but it's also very easy from here to travel to all the attractions of North Wales, such as Snowdonia, the Electric Mountain at LLanberis, the Zip Wire at Bethesda, and the famous Italian Village of Portmerion, just to mention a few! I'm sure if you decide to book to stay at Milverton Cottage, you will absolutely love it, and maybe you might become one of our growing list of our regular guests who end up coming back to stay, year after year, because they have loved the cottage, the views and the area so much!! And Milverton is certainly a cottage where it's great to stay at anytime of the year, whatever the season or the weather! It caters for everything, as I think some of our guests' reviews point out! Please get in contact if you need any additional information of any kind and I would be happy to contact you.
