About David Summers

Parwin & David purchased Blue Rock in 2012. Parwin is a school teacher and was born in the Punjab and David is a Chartered Surveyor and was born down the Road in St Columb Major.

David Summers purchased this house in 2012

Why David Summers chose St Ives area

David's dream has always been to own a property close to a great surfing beach and with spectacular sea views. Parwin, on the other hand, is a self-confessed chatter box who enjoys the arts and likes having lots of people around her.

They started searching for a holiday home in June 2012 but got off to a slow start as they were both looking for different properties.

Fortunately, their search came to an abrupt end when they found a house that ticked all of their boxes. Blue Rock is within easy walking distance of the centre of St Ives, overlooks Porthminster beach, the sea and the harbour. It is also close to Porthmeor beach (one of David's favourite surfing beaches) and has great car parking. What more could anyone ask for?

What makes this house unique

This lovely detached holiday home is superbly located 4 minutes walk from the centre of St Ives and 5 minutes walk from the Blue Flag Porthminster Beach, and has stunning views of the harbour and the sea.

With stylish interiors, this reverse level architect designed holiday accommodation combines the charm of the seaside with 21st-century convenience. Perfect for families or groups of friends.

It has 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, car parking for up to 3 cars and a Mediterranean style garden.

St Ives was awarded ‘Best UK Seaside Town’ in both 2010 and 2011. With cobbled streets and artists’ studios, it is a great place to chill out in pavement cafes or gourmet restaurants. The Tate gallery is also worth a visit.

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at Bluerock early after a long drive and was blown away by the views from the top of the house. The management are there to meet and hand over all the details to you, and although we didn't need them they are there at the end of the phone if you do. We were equally impressed with the the rest of the house, it is equipped to a very high spec and contains everything you could possibly need to use for making a snack or a banquet. It is kept clean and to a very high standard. Bluerock is in a perfect location with a 10 minute walk into town, to the beach or the train station. Plenty of local eating places around the bay.

Cannot wait to book fir next year.

Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

We were met by Steph who greeted us and showed us around. The property has stunning views over the harbour and round to Godrevy lighthouse. It is a few minutes walk in to town, we did not use the car all week, the parking is an asset.

The property was very clean and well maintained and had all the kitchen equipment etc you could need, we only cooked toast! The bedroom and en-suite were comfortable and very clean. The restaurants in St Ives are very good and we tried most of them we especially liked Porthminster Kitchen and the Cellar Bistro.

It was a shame we went in March as outside is a decked area with BBQ, large dining table and chairs and a heater. brilliant.

We and our dog thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at Blue Rock and will return.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are delighted you had a great time and that your wife enjoyed her birthday at Blue Rock. We think that it is important that our Housekeepers, Steph and Ian, do a "Meet and Greet" service so that all our guests know how everything works at the house. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

A little piece of heaven

  • 5 of 5

We have been to St Ives many times, but this the first time we have stayed at Blue Rock......and what an amazing find this place is. I stayed here with my husband, the in laws and our dog Sparky. Blue Rock is an incredibly spacious, light and airy house and spotlessly clean from top to bottom. The views are to die for across Porthminster Beach and watching the sun rise every morning from the large balcony was nothing short of spectacular. The property is very well equipped, a real home from home with everything you might possibly need. The kitchen has all the mod cons, even a coffee machine and a milk frother for the latte brigade. The bottle of fizz on arrival was a nice touch and got the holiday off to just the right start. The bedrooms were fab. Really comfortable beds, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and for the ladies, good quality hair dryers. The bathrooms again, were immaculately clean and the shower in the en suite is lovely. The piece de resistance though, has to be the top floor lounge.. An awesome tranquil space, with breathtaking views from the floor to ceiling windows and the most comfortable armchairs I have ever come across. Just the best place to sit and lose yourself completely. The location of Blue Rock is fab. About 6 minute walk into town or down to the beach....... a little bit longer getting back as it is uphill, but in St Ives you are never gonna to get away from hills. However, my mother in law who is 86 and with a walking frame managed the walk back from town albeit slowly but surely, so definitely not a problem for a fully fit person. Our week here went by far too quickly, and staying in such fabulous accommodation really made the holiday extra special. We can't recommend this property enough and have been telling all our friends and family about it. We will certainly be back again. Thank you to Parwin and Dave for creating this beautiful sanctuary. ...it is spot on. Kind regards....The Martin family

Simply Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Well, what to say, other than "Simply Amazing"! Blue Rock was everything we had hoped for in a perfect location in St Ives.

The house itself was lovely and clean; very well maintained and has all of the mod cons available for an enjoyable stay. The beds were super comfy and the upstairs living space (and terrace) is beautifully laid out and boasted the most incredible views overlooking the Harbour and Porthminster Beach.

Parwin & Dave provided excellent customer service throughout our booking; nothing was too much trouble and they always responded to all of our queries and questions swiftly.

I would most definitely recommend Blue Rock to our friends and relatives - this place has to be seen to be believed!

Parwin and Dave -Thank you! You are truly blessed to have such a stunning property in such an amazing location.

Team Sangha will definitely be back to stay at Blue Rock again

Seeing is believing!

  • 5 of 5

From start to finish our whole booking was handled with professionalism, everything was covered. David and Parwin are such lovely people and easy to contact.

This beautiful house has everything, fantastic views, parking for up to three cars, a few minutes away from the beach and train station, very spacious and airy, beach equipment provided, in house entertainment, games, books, Dvds. Washing line & pegs. The list is endless. Home from home.

Bedding, linen and towels were excellent quality, more than adequate space in the main bedroom for all your holiday clothes, inside is a shaving mirror and full length mirror and hair dryer.

The house is stunning, and clean. Thank you to the young cleaning lady we met on the Saturday we arrived, you were so helpful and work extremely hard.

We really miss this house so much. The house and St.Ives are just fantastic! I would have no hesitation to go back. Thank you!
