A large farmhouse in a lovely rural location. Convenient for many of the historical sites .

  • 5 of 5

We chose this location as we wished to visit the D Day beaches and museums and to visit Bayeux and the tapestry. The property gave us a convenient and homely base to explore the region.

Our experience was further enhanced by Dennis the owner who's historical knowledge of the area and WW2 helped us to make the most of our visit. We travelled with a friend form the USA who particularly wanted to visit Omaha beach and St Marie Eglise.

Overall a very enjoyable visit.

Peaceful, quiet location

  • 4 of 5

The farmhouse is exactly as one imagines it from the photographs. Ideal for us as grandparents holidaying with daughter and family. Dennis and June were very welcoming and (unlike some places we have stayed through other agencies) they were there when needed but left us completely undisturbed otherwise. The check out was also very efficient and (again unlike some experiences we have had) there were no surprises re deposits etc.

The location is beautiful and very quiet - can thoroughly recommend

Fantastic house, very tranquil and central to all places of interest.

  • 5 of 5

We all loved the house and did not want to leave. It was a beautiful property, everything we had hoped for. The owners were very welcoming and knowledgeable of all the places of interest. We are a family of 7 ranging from 11 to 50+ and each and everyone off us have loved this holiday. We would highly recommend it to anyone considering this property for a stay in Normandy. Hopefully we will get to come back soon.

A good base for Normandy 1944 sites.

  • 4 of 5

Quirky but comfortable.

The property was clean and tidy on arrival, we were met by the owners who were very helpful and freindly. The surrounding country side was good for walks with plenty of wildlife, we saw deer, rabbits, foxes, frogs, owls and a whole host of other wild birds.

We visited many of the Normandy 1944 landing sites and memorials aswell as Bayeux for the tapestry. Good markets at Valognes, Carentan and Bayeux.

We went to the local village Le Hommet d'Arthenay for their Liberation celebrations where we had a great time, we were welcomed by the locals and met the mayor who was pleased that we came. The firework display was fantastic, the beer and wine flowed, the sausages in baggettes with frites were tasty, the music and dancing was fun.

A great holiday!
