About Judy Harper
Grew up in Westchester County, New York. Lived in South Florida, West Virginia and Virginia before moving to Boulder 20 years ago. I am the oldest of ten brothers and sisters, have four children of my own and nine grandchildren. The two oldest started college this year and the two youngest are the only grandchildren living close by. In fact, while guests are staying here, I get to stay with them (ages 2 and 4 years)! Retired a couple of years ago from a 45-year career as a cytotechnologist, working and teaching in hospital pathology laboratories. Spent several interim years as a journalist in Virginia. Hobbies are cooking and baking, hiking, road trips and babysitting.

Why Judy Harper chose South Boulder
Location...location...location. Very relaxed and safe neighborhood, within walking distance to hiking trails, restaurants, ice cream, sandwich shops, grocery stores, library, bike shop, mountaineering center, banks, bus stop and park. Only 2 miles from CU & 4 miles from downtown Boulder. The "SKIP", a Boulder commuter bus stops several hundred feet away and can take you along its route to North Boulder, with frequent stops: Table Mesa Shopping Center, NIST and NOAA, the University, Boulder Public library, downtown or to connections with the other excellent bus services provided by RTD, which include Amtrak in Denver and the airport. By car, you can savor the views as you drive to Rocky Mountain National Park, to family skiing/snowboarding/cross country at Eldora, in Nederland, (can also get there by bus) and to Red Rocks amphitheater in Golden. Denver is approximately a 40 minute drive, depending on traffic. Easy access to Colorado winter and summer sports and activities without having to drive far (or even get on an interstate.)
What makes this House unique
All of our guests enjoy the convenience of the location for quick and easy access to the goals of their visit. Beautiful sunrises can be seen from two of the bedrooms with equally gorgeous sunsets over the mountains filling the views from the spacious kitchen. The backyard is fenced, large, peaceful and great for picnics, playing and naps!

The house had easy access from many of Boulder's highlights even though it was not downtown. It was comfortable. The patio was the perfect spot for friends and family to gather, laugh, and celebrate the wedding of a terrific couple. Would definitely stay again.
Perfect Home for Families in Beautiful Boulder
This home was perfect for our family getaway to the mountains! Not only was the location excellent- in a quiet, safe neighborhood with great access to main roads, and nearby to many hiking areas- it was extremely well stocked! Anything we could have needed, wanted or might have forgotten was available, including natural and organic body products, extra toothbrushes, tons of towels and blankets, snacks, drinks, reusable water bottles, baby items (high chair, pack-n-play, baby utensils and cups, soap, etc.) and even organic milk and half and half for the coffee (and baby!). We loved the fact that the home had items to help live more sustainably while on vacation (composting, recycling, reusable towels and bottles, etc.), as well as the natural and organic items throughout the house. The setup of the house is great, with safety doors and gates for the stairs, and a fabulous toy room that kept my 13 month old and 6 year old occupied for hours! The downstairs area was perfect for the older kids to escape to and watch a movie while the baby napped, that is when they weren’t having fun in the beautiful and private backyard! We loved sitting outside in the evenings as the sun went down, playing on the swings. And the girls loved getting to hold one of the chickens! We even got to have fresh eggs for breakfast one day! Beyond all the fabulous amenities, the home was VERY clean and well maintained, which is super important to us, and always makes you feel valued as a guest. In addition, Judy was very hospitable, meeting us upon arrival and giving us a tour of the property and where thing were located. That has never happened before and we have rented a lot of homes! The cherry on top of this home was the luxurious rain shower, which was perfect after a day of hiking! The instant hot water tank is also a nice feature as it saves water and kept anyone from having a cold shower! The comfortable beds were a plus too! Overall we had a wonderful experience and would rent this property again in a heartbeat if we are in the Boulder area.
Thank you so much Judy that we could stay in your beautiful and cozy home! We can only recommend Judy‘s place if you want to explore Boulder/Denver area. Judy is such a warm and welcoming host that you really feel home even if you are far away from home! She even provided us with a crib and a high chair since we were traveling with a 10 month old. Everything in the house is clean and welcoming. A big plus is the lovely backyard with the chickens, were you can even get your 100% organic breakfast eggs in the morning. If we will come back to Boulder we will definitely choose Judy‘s house again.
Perfect! We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We are from Boulder, and this place rocks!
Quiet, natural Boulder setting. Convenient to twin, but an excellent location for us to visit Golden, Ted Rocks, and our family in Lakewood. Thanks!
The great Boulder oasis
The location of the property was great, close to downtown, hiking trails and parks. The house was very kid friendly with plenty of toys and bonus sensor light in the bathroom for kids that can’t reach the light switch.
The backyard was great for dining with the family. It was so nice for the kids to gather the eggs in the morning.
The house supplied everything you could possibly need while being away from home.
Judy put a lot of thought in creating the perfect oasis. We definitely recommend this home for anyone traveling to Boulder, especially families traveling with children.
A home with all the extras!
The owner, Judy, met us at our check in. She was very warm, welcoming, and informative! The home was fully equipped with items well above and beyond our expectations. The backyard, including the chickens☺️, was lovely...plenty of space, a fire pit, and a large gas grill! I absolutely recommend this property!
In walking distance (.5 miles) from frisbee golf course, sand volley ball courts, tennis courts, recreational center, hiking, fishing pond, playground, restaurants, sandwich shop, ice cream shop, local brewery, health food store, grocery shopping, mountaineering retail and so much more.
