About this property

"Sunset House is a two-story residence with the upstairs, downstairs (see Sunset House Up & Down) or both levels together available for rentals along with a private pool. Both levels were updated earlier this year, with new kitchen cabinets, dishwashers, granite counters, and new paint throughout the house. Enjoy the relaxed feel of Florida away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and crowds. This is the way a vacation is supposed to be. Sunset House has an unobstructed view of the Gulf and is steps away from the most beautiful sugar sand beach anywhere.

Sunset House has 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths and 2 half baths. One bedroom upstairs has a queen bed and the second bedroom has two queen beds. One bedroom downstairs has a king size bed, and the other offers a twin over queen bunk beds. Each level has a sleeper sofa for additional sleeping arrangements. There is also a two-car garage. There's a 65 inch flat screen TV in the living room upstairs, TV in the downstairs living room and TV's in three of the bedrooms.

There's a screened porch downstairs to relax and enjoy the breeze off the Gulf and a huge deck upstairs with Adirondack chairs and patio table and chairs to enjoy the sunset views over the water. Bed and bath linens are provided. Full kitchen with ice-maker in the refrigerator, stove and oven range, dishwasher, microwave and toaster on each level. Fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans, silverware and utensils. This is a non-smoking unit. Please restrict smoking to outside areas. ï¿½Free Wi-Fi".

There has been a lot of beach refurbishment since Oct 2018, including the sand dunes and sea oats, as well as new boardwalks and pathways. Mexico Beach is just as beautiful as ever! The beach is very safe for families. There is no undertow due to being sheltered by the St. Joseph Peninsula and an offshore sandbar. If you'd rather, relax around the pool which is surrounded by a privacy fence.

Sunset experience

Me and my husband rented the whole house and had a total of 14 family members. The house is wonderful, it was nice to have 2 separate houses for the privacy. The upstairs deck is amazing with beautiful views, the downstairs screened in porch is big but not as nice as upstairs, the outdoor furniture was dirty looking and the table and chairs outdated but we used it and enjoyed time out there. The location is perfect and the sunsets are amazing from the upper deck! There was plenty of parking, we had 5 cars and plenty of space! The pool is so nice and big, it was very clean. We definitely plan on coming back!!!!!!!

We had a great time.

Downstairs fridge didn’t work when we arrived but a new one was delivered the same day. Dishwasher upstairs stopped working and Maintenance was there within 15 minutes of us calling to report it. Super happy with communication. We enjoyed our stay. There is a TV in that room but it’s really pointless because it cannot be used to watch TV because there isn’t cable and it isn’t a smart TV. Kids we’re disappointed but they had their tablets and it wasn’t a big issue. The beds were pretty comfortable. The views are amazing! The kids really enjoyed the pool and we even used the gas grill to cook one night. I would for sure stay there again.

Didn’t get what we thought we paid for

It’s very disappointing to rent a home specifically with a pool for our family vacation and we are unable to use it due to trash, Cloudy water and debris. The patio furniture was also in the pool. Several pieces of larger pool tile are also busted from the end of the structure. The sitting or whirlpool part of the pool is full of sand and green slime. The pool gate (next to garage) is also hanging; thus, making the only closed yard area unsafe for the kids. We also had zero linens for the upstairs sleeper sofa aside from the dirty sheet and pillow case left on it covered in food crumbs. I have several pictures available to show the condition this property and pool area were in upon arrival. I diligently researched properties that could accommodate our annual family vacation, and in doing so found this incredible piece of property. It’s disappointing and embarrassing to have such accommodations absent when it’s not only included with said property but such beautiful detailed pictures. That did not accurately depict the property.Had there been any updated pictures or reviews of issues- I could have searched for proper accommodations, our family desires. While I completely understand some things are simply over looked or forgotten, these things make a big difference and should be addressed. The AC went out two different times, though the issues were quickly addressed by the realty company, I did not feel as though this were a vacation. Too many issues. At one point I was told some of my reservation fee would be compensated, due to nearly daily issues. Upon check out, nothing was offered. I inquired about this and I’ve gotten no response. We loved the area. The people were so kind. Mexico Beach will be a part of our vacation for years to come. However, I will never rent with this company again. My family all decided the same before we checked out. I encouraged them to wait for checkout, and how they addressed my issues during my stay as well as before mentioned comp on reservation. After checking out. It was decided. Never again with Forgotten Coast Rental Properties. Too much slipped through the cracks.

Property was okay. Master bedroom upstairs had ants pretty bad, we sprayed that but same bedroom had bedbugs. My dgtr n husband were biten pretty good. I took pictures of mattress with bugs on it and bites on my family. We checked out on Sunday, but they were closed. I left message and sent email reply but nobody from company called me back.
