This beautifully presented second floor apartment in Edinburgh’s Old Town has a communal roof area with stunning views of Edinburgh Castle - perfect for watching the Edinburgh International Festival and Hogmanay fireworks, or for having a peaceful drink at sunset.

Bread Street is a fantastic location in the heart of the UK’s favourite city (Observer Travel Awards 2012). The best of Edinburgh is on your doorstep. World-class tourist attractions, cutting-edge theatres and vibrant festival venues can be found amidst a throng of Michelin-starred restaurants, artisan cafes and leafy parks just beyond your threshold. Have a wee browse below to see what’s on offer.

This completely modernised apartment benefits from classic Edinburgh high ceilings and large south-facing windows, as well as a brand new kitchen and shower room. Comfort and convenience are high on the agenda, with luxurious Egyptian cotton bedlinen, a well-equipped kitchen, an iPod/smart phone dock and Wi-Fi throughout.

Check-in is from 3pm on the day of arrival and check-out by 10:30am on the morning of departure. Whenever possible, we are happy to arrange an early baggage drop-off or late baggage collection to suit your travel plans.

We provide a friendly and personal service, meeting all guests on arrival to provide keys and show you around the apartment. Our hope is that the apartment will be a home away from home during your stay in Edinburgh.

About Emelie & Owen Lima

We are a South African-Swedish couple who love going to new places (especially hot and sunny ones). In 2005 we somehow found ourselves in not-so-sunny, but spectacularly beautiful Scotland, and we are still in Edinburgh today. Combining our passion for property and travel, we always thought it would be fun to have a holiday let, so in 2012 we bought this flat in the perfect Edinburgh location and spent several months giving it a complete makeover. We hope you like it!

What makes this apartment unique

Call us biased, but we think this is the PERFECT location to explore Edinburgh (if in doubt, have a look at the list of what's available within 10 minutes' walking distance!). We also love the roof area and the character of the flat, with its high ceilings, bay windows and even an old-fashioned clothes pulley.

Also thank you for being such friendly and accommodating hosts - the extended departure time helped us get sorted out easily enough and without any fuss. hermoso y cómodo apartamento !!

El departamento por dentro es hermoso y muy limpio, quizás no tanto el hall de entrada .

Su ubicación es muy buena ya que es accesible a todos los puntos de interés de la ciudad. Está muy cerca del castillo de Edimburgo .El departamento cuenta con todo lo necesario para una cómoda estadía . Los utensillos y cosas de cocina están 10 puntos !! Fuimos cordialmente recibidos y nos dejaron una bandeja de desayuno de bienvenida. Sin duda volveria a hospedarme en el apartamento de Emilie Owen en mi próximo !!

Great weekend in Edinburgh

This beautifully decorated, comfortable and welcoming apartment is perfectly placed to see just about everything in Edinburgh on foot. We could see the castle from the roof terrace (which is probably a rather grand title for a flat roof space), and were a few minutes from the Usher Hall and Princes Street We were met by Linda, who had supplied bread and milk, biscuits, tea coffee etc, and she showed us around the flat and was warm and welcoming. Everything was as had been described.

There are loads of good eating places nearby in the Grass Market from basic to expensive and fabulous - the latter being the Grain Store on Victoria Street

One of the best things about the apartment was the extreme comfort of the bed - something you don't always get!

I would recommend this for anyone wanting a short or longer stay in this fabulous city.

If only we could get our hands on it and realise some of its potential, but our hands are tied... That's why we call it "rooftop access" in the ad, rather than roof terrace. But the view is phenomenal!

Fantastic position in the city centre. Inside the apartment is modern and very comfortable.

The apartment provides everything you need for a stay in Edinburgh. It is well presented, and the complimentary Iron Bru in the fridge is a nice touch.

The local farmer's market is a 5 minute walk away right next to the Edinburgh Castle car park on a Saturday, as is the grass market area with bars and restaurants.

My wife and I had a wonderful time and thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone planning a stay in Edinburgh.

I wish I were still there!

What can I say? We LOVED Edinburgh. The flat was perfect, in the middle of everything; a 1/4 mile walk to the castle and the Grass Market. A Sainsbury (market) right across the street for your quick needs. The flat was great. Wonderful bed! Thanks for the cookies and most especially, thanks for letting us in early!! We WILL be back!!!

Beautifully decorated felt like a home from home. Couldn't speak highly enough of it!

From the flexibility when checking in and the lovely welcome it just got better and better.

The perfect base from which to explore a fabulous city. The appartment was the perfect place to put your feet up after a long day exploring.

No public transport needed once you arrive, the location couldn't have been any better. A short walk to both princes street and the Cowgate.

Edinburgh itself is swamped with hidden gems, from the camera obscura to the underground city tours.

Thanks for ensuring we had a fantastic weekend!!
