About Christine Snow

Family inherited property. We have a very high standard for its maintenance and improvements. Experiences and memories thru the generations. The present owners live in MA, ME AND OR. Our children played on the same rocks, foraged for crabs and swam until their lips were blue, just as our father before us and his father before him.

Christine Snow purchased this cottage in 1999

Why Christine Snow chose Spruce Head

Maine is where our hearts and our souls rejoice, we enjoy a healthier lifestyle and receive a spiritual lift when we visit.

What makes this cottage unique

The scenery is undeniably gorgeous we have a view of the Penobscot Bay, you can play badminton, bocce ball, croquet, or Frisbee. Entertain outside on the screened in porch, eat on the large outdoor picnic table, swim or launch your kayak on the family beach.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We love it so much we reserve time ourselves. We just want to rent it out to people who will take care of it as if it were their own. Cottage insulated on the outside...inside you can still see the stud construction. The main 'Great room' was originally a 1920's Sears garage kit assembled by our Grandfather (Maine Poet, Wilbert Snow).

wonderful view

We stayed at this cottage a week. It was a very memorable event with my wife and

two sisters. Looking over the ocean from the kitchen while cooking , eating and chanting

were unforgettable scene for a long, long time. We enjoyed very much even weather was

a bit chilly. I wish we can go back some day again and I like to recommend to my friends.

Thanks to Mrs. Snow for letting us share the beauty.

Thanks again,

Lae and Peter

Quintessential Midcoast Maine!

  • 5 of 5

This is my fourth stay in midcoast region, and this particular location is now my favorite -- quiet/rural, right on the water, close to the lobster shack. I was there to unplug and get some writing (and reading) done, and that happened -- mostly on the perfect screen porch. The kitchen was great and had all I needed, and the bed was VERY comfortable, with clean, fresh linens. Well-stocked bathroom as well. The sense of family/history in the cottage is palpable. Great jumping off point for the region -- and frankly, there's enough on the St. George peninsula alone to fill your week with exploring/eating. Me, I just needed a spot to retreat, with access to the sounds/smells/light of the ocean -- and this perfectly fit the bill.

We loved the peace and quiet as well as teh rustic atmosphere of the cabin.

  • 5 of 5

We much enjoyed staying at the cabin. It was very comfortable. It's right of the main road with only other house further down. We had peace and quiet and we able to just sit at the lake and relax reading a book. There's a simple lobster shack about a mile down the road, right on the water, great view, and they have internet if you can't live without. It was the perfect break away from our rushed lives. Just nice to enjoy the beauty of the place. We took a one day trip to Arcadia National Park, very doable. Also went to Monhegan Island and took a puffin tour out of Pt. Clyde which is only 20 minutes away. In short, there are things to do and at the same time it's a soothing environment.

Rustic cottage, perfect setting

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was just right for the two of us, very comfortable and clearly a cottage for the family that we were permitted to enjoy for a week. Everything had been thought of...we should have forgot more things so we could have benefitted from Ms. Snow's thoughtfulness! Sitting right on the water was just marvelous. As first arrivals of 2018, we were too early for lobster pots but not too early for ducks, woodchucks, turkey, and a faithful and contemplation-inducing tide!

Comfortable cottage, lovely spot

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Snow's Cottage and loved it. The cottage is very homey and comfortable, with great views of the water. The spot is private, with beautiful views, and easily accessible to amenities like local lobster. We walked (on the rocks, on the road), kayaked (we brought them), read, played games on the table outside and the table on the porch, played guitar... Just had a great week. Chris Snow is very helpful and responsive, too. Also, we didn't really care that much about being close to restaurants and shopping, but Rockland is easy to get to.

The Best Kind of Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Quiet, restful and lapping waves practically at your doorstep. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need--even a coffee grinder and we love freshly ground coffee! The propane fireplace was especially nice on cool mornings and was so easy to use. We plan on returning again (and we rarely go to the same vacation spot more than once).
