This well maintained 2 bedroom apartment with en-suite bathrooms is situated inside the Reid's Gardens, right next door to the world famous Reid's Hotel, and is the most prestigious and well maintained complex in Funchal. Reid's Gardens has a closed condominium, porter, security and CCTV cameras. The spacious terrace of this second floor apartment has a sea view and overlooks the block's private gardens and swimming pool. This fully equipped and furnished apartment accommodates 4 people and is located within ten minutes walking distance from the town centre. There are internet and cable tv connections provided.

A maid service is provided once per week.

In conformity with Portuguese law this apartment is registered and fully licensed by the local council as an 'Authorised Letting Residence'. The license was issued on January 12, 2016 and is numbered 23391/AL.

Another fantastic week at Reids Gardens

Just returned again from another fantastic week spent in this fabulous apartment at Reids Gardens. Much has already been said about the wonderful location, and the fabulous high quality of the apartment. We have now stayed here 6 times, and having seen many different apartments, can honestly say that this is the best in Funchal. The location is so convenient for everything you need, shops, restaurants, and for the centre of Funchal.

We really look forward to our next trip, it can't come soon enough!

Fantastic Apartment in a Great Location

We had an excellent week in Funchal! David & Manuela had arranged a taxi to pick us up at the airport which made getting to the apartment very easy. David met us and showed us around the apartment which was immaculate, and the photographs on the web page show it very well. It had everything we needed for our stay, comfortable beds, great kitchen, and the balcony overlooking the sea and the pool below was perfect for eating outside or just relaxing.

We swam in the lovely pool as often as we could, especially after a day out walking, a great way to cool down before eating.

There are plenty of shops nearby for essentials plus a great bakery/tea room (the Petit Fours) with bread and delicious cakes!

It is only about a 15 minute walk into the centre of Funchal or there are plenty of buses/taxis.

If only we could have stayed longer, we had such a great time. David & Manuela were perfect hosts. We would really recommend this apartment.

Great apartment,excellent location

This is very traditional apartment with a hint of former glamour in great location with amazing views from terrace. We have had very comfortable stay there. Apartment is within walking distance to centre. Bus stops are close by, too. It is worth getting prepaid ticket, which are like Oyster card and sold in booths near cable car station.

We would have, though, appreciated a couple more towels and another set of keys. My pet hate are stained carpets in bedrooms which, I guess, were destroyed by people not taking their shoes off. No amount of cleaning is ever going to clean cream carpets. Also single bed in spare bedroom is a bit too narrow, although my husband being 6'5 said his bed in main bedroom was a bit wider. He loved his shower room, which was pure luxury and very Hollywood. Other bathroom is fine,too and water pressure in both was excellent.

Our communication with Manuela was faultless and even when she was abroad, she checked whether we arrived ok.

The only problem we had, and I stress that definitely is not Manuela's fault, was "in house" taxi driver and his friend. We booked trip to Santana, but did not want to do the whole day 10m-5pm, just max.4hours. Driver decided where to take us and the whole trip lasted 3,5h and we were asked to pay full day price. Our arguing that price for the whole trip has to be calculated on base of time/km/petrol was not accepted and we were told, that "that's not how it is here". We do recommend to inquire about prices before going anywhere by taxi , which we did not, because we trusted driver. Obviously we felt ripped off.

Fantastic apartment

The apartment was in the most amazing location, right in the middle of everything. So comfortable, you couldn't ask for anything more. Great terrace, with lovely views, everything clean & sparkling. Highly recommonded

Wonderful well-maintained apartment

We were met at the apartment by Manuela, who showed us all the facilities and gave us some good advice on places to eat and shop, etc. This wonderful apartment is spacious, very clean and well-maintained, with a terrific view of the Atlantic and the swimming pool. We used the pool every day and were always able to get sun-beds, often having the pool area to ourselves. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance, and we particularly enjoyed the Casa Madeirense and Casal da Penha. Whale watching with Windbirds and afternoon tea at Reid's Place were highlights of our holiday.
