About Caroline Wallrock
Charlie and I are antique dealers and we have four children, one of whom helped decorate and furnish this wing of the house. We've travelled widely and lived overseas but always return to this beautiful part of the world.
Why Caroline Wallrock chose Lymington
Tweed House and Cloisters have a saucy history. Tweed House was built by Captain Symonds for his new bride Lucinde Touzi in 1815. They had met in the Caribbean as the result of incredible adventures. Captain Symonds rescued Lucinde from the siege of San Domingo, brought her back to England and married her once she came of age. Later owners, the Moens, were kidnapped on their honeymoon in Sardinia. Mrs Moens was released and the people of Boldre chipped in to raise the ransom to free Mr. Moen.

Cloisters- beautiful house and grounds.
Beautiful house and grounds. Whole family really enjoyed it. Lymington is lovely lots of places to visit and loads of restaurants. Peppa Pig World for little kids and Beaulieu for the big kids. Lots of lovely walks, and really not far for lots of great seaside visits.
Lovely house and surroundings
Very enjoyable stay.Spacious, well equipped house.Beautiful large garden with added bonus of a tennis court.Had a really lovely holiday with children and grandchildren.
Beautiful property with lots of space
The property is lovely and in a quiet location that provided a welcome respite on a hectic weekend. There is so much space you can lose people! Caroline was friendly and very helpful. There is lots of helpful information in the house to guide you on things to do, and the kitchen provided all the utensils you could need to cook up a storm if wished. The house even comes with two fridges!
-poor WiFi (likely just because of its location in the New Forest)
-no shower in main bathroom, only in the 2 en-suites
The second of these was more an issue, but can be worked around with some coordination. However I would recommend the house and would be happy to return. My family was more than happy with the choice.
Thank you for this feedback. I am afraid the two points you raise are frequently mentioned. The Wi-Fi is poor because, as you worked out, the coverage here is abysmal so speeds are slow. They have promised much over the years but .....
The shower is also a luxury we cannot manage in a 200 year old house. We have looked at every way to put in a power shower or a heat exchange shower but the distances the water travels either means it is cold by the time it arrives or there is no water pressure for more than a trickle. We find that families are more than happy to share the en suites and groups of friends just organise themselves to shower at different times but parties where everyone has to be ready at the same time can be challenging.
This place is absolutely fantastic! The pictures, as amazing as they look don't even do justice to the beauty and charm of the house. The antique furniture makes the place unique, however we couldn't have had a more pleasant and comfortable stay. The place is huge! We were a group of 9 and still felt like we were rattling about. If you want provacy, you've got it. If you want to socialise as a group you absolutely have that too. The place was immaculately clean and the grounds and garden are also kept in immaculate condition. Caroline clearly takes pride in the house and it shows in spades. The tennis court was a lovely touch as well. We had an unbelievable weekend staying here and if heading back to the area wouldn't look any further than Cloisters. I really hope that is the case as would love to revisit. Caroline as a hot couldn't have been more helpful, even offering to do a supermarket shop for us ahead of our arrival. I couldn't take her up on that kind offer and we got a Tesco shop delivered - another bonus. Cannot recommend Cloisters highly enough. Thank you, Caroline for letting us stay in your wonderful property.
Lovely break with the family, house and surrounding area beautiful
Lovely size rooms and garden for the children to enjoy. We had 6 adults and 4 (5 yrs and below) children, house great size for us to enjoy.
Cloisters was amazing. Impeccably clean and everything we hoped it could be and much more.
We had a truly wonderful weekend at cloisters. The owners were incredibly helpful but very discreet. Everything was catered for & the house was beautifully furnished to the highest standard.
The New Forest is one of England's gems. The rural landscape of forest and heathland is less than two hours from London but seems a world away. The New Forest ponies graze on the common heathland and are joined by donkeys, cattle, and even pigs in the autumn. An extensive network of walking and bicycle trails make the area easy to explore. Minutes away are beaches along the Solent. Lymington is home to a vibrant boating community. The Isle of Wight is easily reachable by ferry. The New Forest is easily accessible by car or train. Or sail into Lymington.
