About the property

Three bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage, with garden and outdoor BBQ area.

Rose Cottage has been lovingly renovated, it is a traditional Lake District property with a modern, quirky interior. Rose Cottage has x 3 double bedrooms and a basement snug with sofa bed which can be made up as fourth bedroom. The master bedroom has a large ensuite with wet room shower and free standing bath. The top two bedrooms share a Jack and Jill bathroom with wet room shower, there is an additional GF WC.

The modern open plan kitchen / dining space is equipped with x 2 Neff ovens, X 1 Neff Micro Combi oven and an integrated Neff coffee machine. The dining area has a cosy seating area with flat screen TV and chaise. The lounge has an open fire and flat screen wall mounted TV, Wifi is free with the cottage.

It is situated on a private lane backing onto a woodland making it a very peaceful spot. It is only a short walk from Windermere towns bustling high street with its many cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries. Bowness and the lake itself are a 5 min drive from the property. Bowness offers plenty to do with a cinema, tennis courts, mini golf course and of course boats to hire on the lake. You can also catch one of the ferries from the main jetty where you can hop on and off to explore the surrounding area, the views are spectacular from the lake itself!

The popular town of Ambleside is a 10 minute drive along the lake Rd (or a 10 min sail on a ferry).

Please note we do a min stay of one week during peak season and a 3 nights min stay outside of peak season.

Really enjoyed our family stay in this cottage for 3 nights. Great locations for some good walks and a short stroll into Windermere.

Lovely house and great location

We loved our stay here. We came with our two children (10 and 5) and a set of inlaws.

The house is very well presented and clean. Great location being a short walk into Windermere and a short drive into Bowness. There's an excellent walk (relatively easy for young children) up Orrest Head just up the road and a beautiful walk down to the lake which includes a river with small waterfalls.

There's so much to do in and around this area. Plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants all walking distance with even more choice a short drive away.

In the lead up, the owner couldn't be more helpful with tips and advice. Would recommend the area and this great house. Thanks!

A loverily looking property, in a good location.

Rose cottage is a very attractive looking cottage, that is very well decorated inside. It's just outside Windamire and not too far from Ambleside so a great location for getting to all the attractions in the area. Helen who ownes Rose cottage seams nice (I only got to speak to her on the phone) and sorts out any problems very quickly. The only slight negative (and I will put this in the review so this does not come across as completely one sided) is that on a few occasions the appearance of the decoration has won out of over practicality, so for example one oven in the kitchen can't be opened as it hits the door knob to the fridge, or you can't open the washing machine either door properly as it it's the wall making it difficult to use. These things are rather small however compared to how much we enjoyed our stay.

Perfectly located!

Rose Cottage was perfectly located in Windermere giving us easy access to the high street as well as the various walks we had planned. The cottage itself was peacefully situated away from traffic and provided a true Lake District characterful cottage experience. We all (7 of us) loved the kitchen/diner conservatory, perfection rain or shine.

A week in the Lake District

The location of Rose Cottage is excellent. Only a stones throw from the centre of Windermere.

Quiet, peaceful area. The cottage was as shown in the pictures although there were steep stairs to the bedrooms. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms excellent.

Any minor issues we had were dealt with with quickly and professionally.

Character cottage with a modern feel

A nice cottage, in a great location for exploring the lakes, or a stroll into Windermere in the evening

If a group was more than 4 people the living room would be small, but the kitchen and dining area was where we spent most time

Anyway and that has more space

A quiet location down a lane, with no passing traffic. It has a large driveway for several cars with a nice garden and decked patio area.

Booking and communication went very well, with no problems.

Rose Cottage is situated a 5 min walk to Windermere village where there is a variety of cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries. Windermere is the perfect base to explore the rest of the National park. The lake is a short 15 min walk away where you can catch a ferry to Ambleside and enjoy the breathtaking views from the water.

Refundable Damage Deposit £200

Short breaks are available during low and high season, prices start from £595 for three nights in low season, £750 for 3 nights in high season and groups of 8. Check in time is 4pm and departure time is 10am. We do a one week min stay during peak season.

Any damage exceeding the £200 security deposit will be payable. Please note deposit and balance are non refundable, guests are recommended to have their own holiday insurance in place.

We act only as agent for the owner, you're contract is with the owner. We cannot accept any liability for any act or neglect on their part and we cannot accept any liability for any problems or faults with or in the property as all our properties are controlled by the owners.
