About Chris and Dennis
We are retired and have lived in Belfast, Maine since 1994, during which time we have renovated a number of properties. We built this camp originally as a barn/workshop for Dennis, but decided to convert it to living space and we love the way it's turned out. We love to travel and are usually away exploring from February to early May. Our family love to come and visit and stay at the camp.
Why Chris and Dennis chose Liberty
This is a very comfortable, quiet and spacious place to stay. Kayaking or canoeing on the pond is very enjoyable - boats with motors over 10hp are not allowed on the pond. We have a screened porch, large deck, and dock on the water for enjoying the clean fresh air and beautiful surroundings.

Peaceful getaway well worth the trip.
This cabin from the moment you pull up to it immediately makes you smile. It’s set in a peaceful spot overlooking the pond away from neighbors. We were at a family reunion at our families rustic camp on Lake St. George and this was an excellent excape to our own spot only 5 minutes down the road. The cabin is much bigger than we imagined and has a lovely homie feel to it. We traveled with our two girls 2 &4 and were nervous about the “loft” bedroom before we got there. We were pleasantly surprised that the”loft” was more of a second floor type set up with a full set of stairs than a loft with a ladder type set up. The girls loved sleeping up there on their cute beds that was close to the floor, so we didn’t worry about the 2 year old falling and getting hurt! The best part of the house was the 3 season screened in porch off the main bedroom which overlooked the pond. Sit there for 2 minutes and you can’t help but be relaxed. We were the envy of the rest of the family who saw our beautiful spot. The owners are excellent to deal with and very quick with responding to any questions. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed your stay and that the sleeping space worked out for your girls. Our grandkids call it the “tree house”. We hope to see you again!

We had a terrific week at this lovely new house on Stevens Pond. All new kitchen appliances as well.
This newly built house is wonderful - so quiet you can hear every bird and chipmunk when you sit on the screened in porch off the master bedroom and enjoy the sunset! It is secluded for those who like privacy while on vacation, and the furniture is new as well. Canoes and kayaks are a short walk down a path to Stevens Pond. Swimming is just down the road at the town beach, or at a nearby State Park. Belfast is a short drive, and John’s ice cream is the best! We hope to return someday.
So glad you enjoyed! Yes! We live the screened porch too! Hope to see you back on Stevens Pond and in Belfast!
Quiet, relaxing, tranquil, self contained lakeside cottage
The location of the cabin is very special, it is next to the lake and has a private jetty with kayaks and canoes available. You can sit out on the porch and watch the lake with complete privacy.
We found the cottage to be very clean, spacious and well appointed.
The full kitchen was great to use. There were misc. condiments and a wide selection of kitchen appliances ( e.g. waffle maker, blender and coffee pot) our children enjoyed exploring Steven's pond and saw loons, turtles, frogs and deer. They picked blackberries and enjoyed the boardgames. There was easy proximity to Belfast and we were sorry not to have spent more time exploring liberty but we honestly didn't want to leave the gorgeous cabin.
It was an easy day trip to Acadia national park which was really stunning.
Right from the beginning it was very easy to communicate with Dennis and Chris who made our visit very simple and relaxing. We would love to return to Fiddlers Green summer or winter, it was a wonderful vacation.
Thank you, Sholto! So glad you enjoyed your stay and the girls will have fond memories of their kayaking excursions on the pond. It was great meeting you and hope to see you again!
a quiet corner of the world!
It is difficult to find words! We enjoyed every minute of our visit. Th screened in porch was my sanctuary at all hours of the day! Larry loved bullying the bass at the dock!
Even in the rain an exceptional place to exist ! We appreciate all the thought and time that went into every detail to make our visit so relaxing. The fresh flowers and all the amenities in the kitchen made our move in awesome! We hope to return. Thanks friends even though we haven't met you are amazing.
Beautiful house on a beautiful pond!
We loved staying here. The house is gorgeous. The kitchen is big, spacious, and well equipped for cooking. The bed was comfortable. The pond was covered in blooming Lilly pads. The hosts were responsive to our needs. The town was adorable. We would definitely come back!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again!
Secluded property on a beautiful lake
The property is secluded, quiet and extremely clean and well appointed. The location is excellent for exploring midcoast Maine. The owner was very helpful in recommending various restaurants in Liberty and nearby Belfast.
The property comes with two kayaks and canoes, and we loved exploring the lake by kayak. The lake is beautiful with very little development and there are many coves and backwaters that were fun to explore with kayaks.
Most facilities - supermarket, cinema, restaurants, hospital, etc. are in Belfast (20 minute drive).
