Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Beaulieu-sur-Mer

2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, sleeps 4

A beautiful, bright and airy apartment within a period villa on the slopes of magical Beaulieu sur mer. Double doors open from the reception room and from both bedrooms onto southerly facing marble balconies where you can relax and enjoy the ever-changing colours of the sea and watch the yachts and little fishing boats come and go from the picturesque marina in the village below. 5 minutes walk from the shops of Beaulieu and daily market. A sophisticated town/village with a balance of authentic and chic shops, beaches (there are two) and a great range of restaurants. A choice of easy and strenuous walks all around - including to Cap Ferrat and Ville franche - or hire a bicycle. Just 10km from both Nice and Monte Carlo both of which are just a 5 minute train journey away. Eze just a 10 minute drive away. Apartment beautifully furnished and fully equipped. One double; one twin room (which can become double). 1 shower-room, 1 bathroom. Enjoy

The Villa Spirata the sun and the sea -

A week we shall never forget,

The McHardys' apartment just has to be

The top A list holiday let.

It's exactly the place

To soak up the soleil,

To sit on the balcony

Toute la journée

Watching the fabulous

Yachts in the bay

Or later, the moon

And the fireworks display;

So thank you McHardys, Max and Joanne

For that wonderful, wonderful week,

We should love to go back if ever we can -

Relaxing Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife, myself and our 6 year old son enjoyed the two week vacation this Ocober on the sunny Cote d'Azur thanks to the great weather, warm sea, beautiful scenery and a lot of nice places to visit around Beaulieu. And of course it was also thanks to the nice, airy and very convenient accommodation we had in the villa Spirita. It is spacious enough for 3 or 4 people, and it has all modern conveniences one may need. My wife in particular enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and one of the balconies with the romantic view over the sea where we could have our morning cofee and a glass of wine in the evening. As for myself, I appreciated that I could stay wired and not lose contact with my office using the unlimited internet access available in the appartment.

The appartment is very conveniently located. It is quiet enough since it is away from the main streets of the town, and still within just five minutes walk from the train and bus station as well as the main shopping area. The beaches and the marina are also pretty close.

I'd note just a couple of things that could be improved: the first thing is the Satellite TV - the signal was not very steady and good quality, and also not very easy to operate due to the tricky layout of the TV facilities (the decoder and the main TV set are located in different rooms). And another small issue was the fact that there was only one key available. It is not very convenient if you and your relatives/friends have different agendas during the day.

In all other respects the accommodation is great and very good value for money.

Owner's Response: We are still working on the TV connection problem. The TV signal is stong at one end of the villa but can suffer interference at the other. For that reason we have provided a TV with integrated DVD in that room. We continue to try to find a solution - but want to try to avoid the need for a second satellite dish on the roof, which so far has been the only solution we have been offered. Two sets of keys now available for all! Please keep the reviews coming! They're very helpful.

Relax in Style

  • 5 of 5

After a stressful couple of months in the world of education, nothing could have worked better for us than a week at Villa Spirita. To be able to throw open the shutters every morning to warm sunshine and breathtaking views over the sparkling bay towards Cap Ferrat and then pop down tinto the Beaulieu village street and bring back a baguette, croissants and fresh fruit from the market for breakfast was the perfect start to every day. The apartment itself is spacious with cool wooden floors and lovely fireplaces and is furnished in an elegant but unpretentious way. The kitchen is well equipped and we were able to mix evenings out at some of the friendly characterful restaurants in the village with eating in, either working up the local produce from the markets around or buying quality freshly prepared Provencale dishes.

Our form of relaxing involves a good walk each day and with so many options to choose from, whether 'choosing' our favourite billionaire villa or Super yacht as we took the coastal paths or accessing pretty hilltop villages via the absurdly good value convenient trains or buses, it was always such a pleasure to return content and lightly footsore to the relaxing rooms of Villa Sprita and to enjoy a chilled glass of Rose or two as the sun dipped down. We can't wait for our next trip to a real gem of a holiday retreat.

Gorgeous spacious aparment with VIEWS

  • 4 of 5

Waking up each morning to incredible views of the bay and the uber sized yachts of the Russian oligarchs and the dot com billionaires made any criticisms irrelevant. Wow, wow and wow. We were there in June, 2013 and still dream about it.

The apartment is spacious, well furnished, has a washing machine and pretty well everything you need.

And now for the criticisms:

No telephone which is a bit of a minus. The other apartments we stayed not only had telephones but free calling to North America. Not a big deal overall but a bit of a nuisance.

Parking. If you have a car and the location makes one almost obligatory, it is a bit of a hassle to park out front. We eventually found parking every day although somedays it was illegal. But no tickets so who cares.

If you are at all mobility challenged, there are quite a few steps to the entrance (some thirty plus, essentially the equivalent of two stories). Mostly an issue coming and going with luggage and when hauling groceries but again, you are on vacation and in the great scheme of things not a big deal.

They do not take credit cards which is a problem with the agency that handles this property. That means you either pay ridiculous fees to wire money for deposits or lose a large amount if you send bank drafts because apparently French banks charge ridiculous amounts to cash international Money orders. It would be cheaper all around if they took credit cards even if they passed on the fee. For some reason the agent, who has offices in Beaulieu and Villefranche considers themselves too small to take visa or mastercard. While the owners very kindly absorbed some portion of this charge, it was nevertheless, a major annoyance.

But for these issues, we would have rated this place Excellent.

It is a relatively easy walk down to the village but its a hike back up. No local bus goes up that way.

Nice little market. Ate once in the Port and thought the food passable and expensive. Did not go back.

Good traiteur just off the main square in town when too lazy to cook and don't want to go out.

We also liked the restaurants in the Port in St. Jean/Cap Ferrat.

Bu overall a wonderful apartment and unbelievable views.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and we're glad you enjoyed staying in our home. On access, there are steps to the entrance, shallow but steps all the same so thank you for making that clear. There is a walk up from the village but not our definition of a 'hike' - you can choose a shortcut which has steps and so is steeper. There are two local buses which go past the door - and can take you to the village (for the uber lazy) or to/from St Jean Cap Ferrat. There are lots of good restaurants in the village - we've left a list in the apartment of our own favourites and those of our regular guests. There is broadband wifi which provides telephone connection for guests through Skype. One of the many attractions of the area is the fabulous walks. Our villa is perfectly positioned as it is close to the village but a great starting point for walks in all directions.

One of the most tranquil vacations we have ever taken

  • 5 of 5

Checking in and out was a breeze. The view were spectacular. The villa had everything we needed and everything was in walking distance. Transportation was so easy to all the places. The beds were very comfortable and the wifi worked great. We are planning to go back next year and stay a bit longer. Very relaxing. The restaurants were all great too.

Spectacular Apartment near charming village

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Spirita. The apartment has elegant bones and mesmerizing views of the sea. This is a great way to live in a nice neighborhood, with access to a village.

There is a nice path into the village, it takes about 5 minutes to walk to the center of B-sur mer. There is a produce market in the square every day, a great butcher, and a wonderful fresh pasta shop {that also sells other tasty side dishes, all made in house}, everything you need to make a great meal in the nice kitchen. Bing a cook, I loved having a 4 burner gas stove. The refrigerator is small, but there is a second {small} refrigerator available. The kitchen looks out onto an ancient roman trail, and it is fun to see people walking by.

We greatly enjoyed our stay and hope to return to Villa Spirita for a longer period of time.

Utterly Enchanted

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I along with our grownup son and daughter had a wonderful time in lovely Beaulieu. We have stayed in Villa Spirita before, but we were once again blown away by the amazing views, the airy, spacious rooms and the convenience of excellent restaurants, shops, beaches and public transport links. I didn't hire a car this time and managed very well without it, as there is so much to see and do within such easy reach of the apartment, but actually my favourite passtime was just sitting on the balcony watching the yachts come and go in the bay.

We didn't experience any undue noise as suggested in an earlier review and would most certainly return again.

Set in a beautiful location between Nice and Monaco. Exceptional place where the sea meets the mountains - one of the most beautiful places on the French Riviera. Has played host to the most famous crowned heads at the 'Belle Epoque' so offers a rich architectural heritage with sumptuous residences. A dynamic and lively town with 2 ports. A true holiday destination with two lovely beaches. An unspoiled view, clean and clear sea, exceptional landscape. Water sports, sailing, water skiing, boat rides, deep sea fishing, canoeing. Also tennis, walks and nearby golf courses. An easy walk to the acclaimed Cap Ferrat and to the resort of Villefranche sur mer. Cap D'Ail and Eze bord de la mer offer alternative beaches. The historic 'perched village' of Eze overlooks Beaulieu and Cap Ferrat. Bus and train allow you to easily explore the towns and villages of the nearby French and Italian coast, or drive inland for some awe-inspiring scenery, mountain walks and a complete change of atmosphere.
