The "Heavenly Haven" located on the edge of the Bay of Quinte, has the best of what mother nature can provide. The scent of the mature red (Junipers) and white cedar lingers in the air, while you gaze out from the open deck, or the screened in porch, at the water and magnificent sunsets. You can laze away the day reading your favourite book while the Canada Geese fly overhead or mother Swan swims by with her young in tow close to the shore. Watch the Osprey and Blue Heron stalking fish from their perch on the rocks, or flying by on their nightly quest for a snack. Many other creatures call the area home, mink, rabbits, foxes, raccoon and deer may be sighted in the surrounding cedar forest. They all keep their distance but are inquisitive creatures; they were here first. Your days may be filled with short journeys on the local county roads often used by cyclists , to the local wineries, art galleries, antique shops and restaurants. Three Dog Winery is just down the road and up the hill, 5 minutes away. You will find an Ontario Parks day pass for your use, to enjoy the wonderful sand beaches of the local Sandbanks only 20 minutes away. Your evenings can be spent lounging on the screened veranda at the waters edge listening to the waves gently lapping at the shore while you drift to sleep or enjoying a fire in the chimnea under the star filled sky. This cozy cottage has been renovated throughout, this spring; all rooms painted, new flooring, new 3 piece bath, new hot water heater, windows, etc. The sleeping arrangements are a spacious bedroom and a pull out sofa (both are queen size). The kitchen is fully equipped with all of the dishes, pots/pans, cutlery, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, toaster oven, kettle, for those who love to cook. The cottage is equipped with satellite TV, drinking water dispenser (free), stereo, and a desk for those who are so inclined.

I was born and raised in Picton , my partner Shell-lee a short distance farther east in the province. After many years in BC I wanted to return to the County so I bought our 10 acre property. Our house is on the southern edge of the property near the road. Shell-Lee works in the area; it is just the 2 of us and the wild life around the property. Shell-Lee will be your host as I grew up on the water and allowed the seafaring life to take a hold of me at young age and as of yet it has not given up its grip. I make sure I am home for either July or August to lend Shell-Lee a helping hand, and while I am away the neighbours help out.
Owner purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Owner chose Prince Edward
We have owned the neighbouring 10 acres since 1999. The cottage is nestled in the NE corner of the 10 acres, our house in the SW corner. We acquired the cottage last year to make the 10 acre block complete. Our friends often comment favourably on the park like setting, only a 5 minute walk from our house. We enjoy most all the elements mother nature has provided on this property, wild animals and wild flowers, winter weather not so much. It is just so quiet at the waters edge. The county is my home. My mother said you better get a piece of the county before it is too late, they are not making anymore of it, so I did. The cottage was were my mother took me as a baby to see my US relatives who owned the cottage until last year. I looked forward to the annual visit of my relatives so I could go swimming and fishing with my cousins as we grew older. My extended family would gather at the cottage every year - it was the place where they all wanted to be.
What makes this Cottage unique
being able to sit by the water or under the trees without anyone bothering you, no neighbouring cottages on either side or on the opposite shore , private entrance, superb sunset viewing, very very quiet.

A beautiful, peaceful getaway
This is an outstanding property. We came to the County looking for quiet and beauty, and we couldn't have asked for a better place. This house is beautifully set up, with everything we could think of, from maps to guides to a well-stocked kitchen, and much more. We spent hours sitting outside, or on the incredible screen-in porch watching the water and the sunsets, and relaxing.
It's also situated in a lovely spot, far enough away to feel secluded, but just a short drive to any convenience you want. We had beach days and farm stand days, and country road days, and it was perfect. Our hosts were incredibly helpful, kind, attentive and thoughtful. We can't recommend this place highly enough. We will be back.
Thank you so kindly for your heartfelt review. My sister and I put a great deal of thought into the cottage and I feel we truly captured the essence of the solitude, comfort and contentment that the property deserves. I look forward to seeing you again. Cheers, Shell-Lee
A quiet and comfortable getaway
This is a quiet, immaculately clean, very well equiped cottage right on the water. The owners are very welcoming and thoughtful, having put a lot of effort into creating a very enjoyable place to stay. I would certainly stay here again.
Little Slice of Heaven!
This lovely cottage is a keeper! Newly renovated, spotless, beautifully decorated, and so spacious, as well! The cottage is fully stocked, a comfy bed awaits you, and there is great attention to many details that make your stay even more pleasant, such as, a stereo, electric fireplace, flameless candles, throws and pillows, candies, etc. and lots of brochures on the area attractions, including a beach pass!! The open decks and the fabulous, huge, screened-in porch, are so inviting and comfortable! The grounds and the views are breathtaking! Directly on the water, you really can’t get much closer! There are many whimsical, fun and artistic touches everywhere you look! The ambiance is one of peace and tranquility! Use the binoculars and feast your eyes on a variety of gorgeous birds! We visited Picton, Wellington and of course, the Sandbanks’ Outlet Beach, which kind of feels like you’re at the ocean! Shell-Lee and Les are super hosts, attentive and helpful! They are nearby, if you need them, but they totally respect your privacy, which was important to us! Heavenly Haven is a wonderful, glorious place, which I am thrilled to have discovered, and I truly recommend it! Thank you Shell-Lee for our amazing vacation!....and for your added generosity, in the shape of a little anniversary gift to us! ❤️
We spent a peaceful long weekend in this lovely Prince Edward County cottage. It is very clean, comfortable and well equipped - with extensive and thoughtful amenities included that will make you feel at home right away. The cottage is a short drive to the main winery areas - at the end of the day, it was a relief to return to this tranquil waterfront spot, away from the crowded towns, wineries and busy roads on the other side of the County. Shell-Lee is a wonderful host - the perfect combination of friendly/ helpful and not intrusive. We highly recommend Heavenly Haven as a base to explore everything the County has to offer.
Serene and idyllic!
For the second year in a row my husband and I had a wonderful time at Shell-Lee and Les' Heavenly Haven. We had everything we needed, the accommodations were clean, cozy and inviting. We spent our days lounging on the dock, watching the swans float by. We were also visited by bunnies, chipmunks and herons. The fish were literally jumping out of the bay. Truly a little piece of heaven. Looking forward to next year! Thanks again!

Wonderful Cabin by the Lake
Wow, what a wonderful property. The cabin contained everything we needed - home from home - we had a fantastic week, sun bathing, reading, relaxing, drinking and also exploring the area. Les and Shell-Lee have maintained this holiday home in excellent order. They were on hand to give advice and guidance when needed. Being on the side of the lake was fantastic and so peaceful. The sunsets amazing. The Lake on the Mountain is well worth a visit as is Sandbank Park.
