Overview

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Sevenoaks - ***** Hamptons Farmhouse *****

4 Stunning Holiday Cottages: Rural relaxation and kids activity. Nr Sevenoaks

Hamptons Farmhouse is located in the beautifully rural area between the villages of Plaxtol and West Peckham, close to Sevenoaks and Tonbridge in Kent, the Garden of England. Amazingly quiet and peaceful, set in 9 acres of land, all that can be seen is rolling countryside, yet we are just 32 miles from the centre of London with all its theatres, tourist attractions, shopping and cultural activities.

The four holiday lets include 'Stable Cottage', 'Willow Cottage' 'Dairy Cottage' and 'Little Apple Barn' all of which are beautiful conversions, finished to a very high standard and all benefit from the outstanding location and facilities of Hamptons Farmhouse.

On our 9 Acre site there is so much to do: past the cottages unfolds the beautiful gardens with duck pond on which you can paddle around on the row boat. Or play open air table tennis under the shelter of the barn; take afternoon tea on the lawns or if you feel more energetic play croquet or even tennis in the all weather courts.

The Hamptons Farmhouse site is very child-friendly, it is safe and secure (including the water areas) but is filled with adventure and excitement. The ‘Fort’ is a camouflaged climbing frame with swings, monkey bars, climbing wall and 40m zip wire. By the giant redwood tree, on which swings and trapeze hang, is the massive 17’ x 12’ super bouncy Jump King trampoline. The genuine gypsy caravan is a cosy place to chill out for children and adults alike. Secret dens, seven dwarf's woodland playhouse, climbing trees, treehouse in the woods, sandpits, toddler areas and playground and farmhouse animals add to the overall blissful experience.

For adults, there are so many areas of the gardens and land where you can sit and read; listen to birdsong or simply wander around. Local walks abound, one passes by the edge of our land and leads you through orchards to wonderful local pubs such as the Kentish Rifleman or 20 mins rural walk in the other direction to the Swan on the Green pub restaurant with its own microbrewery for those who like to try local ales. WiFi is super fast as we have a fibre line into the property. You should get speeds of 20-200Mbs.

The four holiday homes, Stable Cottage, Willow Cottage, Dairy Cottage and the Little Apple Barn at Hamptons Farmhouse are the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives but an easy journey to London just over an hour away and only 35 mins from Sevenoaks to Charring Cross. From there the London Eye, Theatre land, Covent Garden, Leicester Sq and West End and other tourist attractions are in easy striking distance for an evening or day out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5* Review on TripAdvisor for Stable Cottage - Kent

I love this place. We visited in August this year and had a wonderful week there. The surroundings are stunning. Set in rural Tonbridge, it felt like we were in France! Amazing gardens, facilities for the children meant you could relax with a glass of red wine and enjoy their happiness without feeling the need to get in and out of the car constantly. If you do want to visit places, Katie and Andy provide a comprehensive guide book to cater for all needs. We visited Leeds Castle, went cycling at Bedgbury Park, swimming, visited The Hop Farm. The children however just wanted to come back to the cottage and play in the grounds. There was so much to do there the kids were fully entertained all day long! We loved it here. Highly recommended.

Excellent Family Fun

  • 5 of 5

Stable cottage is a lovely little cottage, well maintained and well equipped. The facilities however are second to none. If you have small children and want to get away from it all then this is the place. Fantastic fun - trampolines, tree houses, zip wire, the most beautiful surroundings. We just loved it. Highly recommend.

A lovely familiy holiday at Hampton Farm (Kent)

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time and stayed in the Little Apple Barn Cottage. Andy and Katie the owners were very welcoming and friendly. The cottage itself was well maintained, modern, clean and had all the utilities you need for a relaxing holiday. The views from outside the cottage were super. We brought our twins who are nearly 3 years old and they had a great time there playing on the toy cars, trampolines, swings and in the little play house. There was enough to keep them occupied for hours. In the cottage there was a this welcome pack that was really useful in deciding on other things to do outside Hamptons Farm. Overall a super holiday and we would certainly visit again.

Feeling Blessed!

  • 5 of 5

We keep coming back to this place and we have not been disappointed! It is a beautiful place not just child friendly but a child’s paradise. Little Apple Barn Cottage is both tasteful and practical and there is so much to do for the children in the grounds. Feeling blessed!!

rural retreat very close to central London

  • 5 of 5

Andy and Katie make you feel very welcome without intruding on you. Things like having some bread, butter, jam, and milk (not to mention the wine and the chocolates) mean a lot when you have just been driving for 12 hours south from Scotland :-)

The cottage is lovely, compact, but everything you need is there! The huge gardens around the house and cottages is every kid's (and thus parent's) dream. Lots of pubs (2 on walking distance) for lunches or evening meals around and last but definitely not least: park your car at closeby Sevenoaks railway station and within 30 minutes you are in central London!

Successful holidays

  • 5 of 5

We were back again in this lovely cottage with the same pleasure than last year !

Everything you need is present in the cottage. The ‘guest guide’ present in the cottage is very clear and helpful.

The garden is really wide and it’s a real pleasure for children and also for parents. The property is directly connected to national footpaths.

Hens, rabbits, sheep contributes to relaxing holidays in the middle of the nature.

It is a lovely, peaceful retreat and a great base from which to go and visit the country.

Lovely hosts, stunning views, beautiful decor.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was beautifully presented and extremely well maintained. It was a real home away from home with gorgeous vistas, undisturbed tranquility and plenty of things to do around (especially useful for families with children e.g. zip-wire, tennis court, large trampoline, tree house, bikes and scooters to be used with permission, and PLENTY more). I had an absolutely fantastic time in Stable Cottage, the owners were always happy to assist. The cottage itself was very well equipped and there were no issues at all. There was Wi-Fi, with great speed considering the rural surroundings, TV, and a bounty of lovely treats to welcome the guests on arrival. I can't recommend it strongly enough! Utter bliss!

The hay loft is a good 2m high and accessed by a ladder. There is a small protective barrier but if you want to be super safe, its not for young kids. We don't position Stable Cottage as a 5 bed property but it could easily take 5 adults.
