Description

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday villa in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar - 3 bedroom villa with pool

Large 3 bedroom villa with private pool close to village, beaches and golf

This pretty villa is nestled in the foothills of the Levant Nature park between Artá and Sant Llorenc des Cardassar. Set on a quiet country lane the villa offers peace and seclusion yet is just 3kms from the bustling village of Sant Llorenc. The ground floor of the house is completely open with several double doors opening onto a wraparound porche perfect for dining out or lounging on sofas flanked by walls of bamboo. A large traditional kitchen opens onto a dining area both indoors and outdoors. The living area has large comfortable leather sofas and HD TV screen offering apple tv. An extensive library, wifi connection, laundry/pantry and bathroom with plenty of storage completes the ground floor.

Upstairs are three large double bedrooms. The main bedroom has a kingsize bed, en-suite shower and private terrace overlooking the gardens and pool. Another bedroom has a double bed and beautiful balcony doors open onto the Levant Nature Park and the valley leading to Artá. The third bedroom has two single beds and balcony doors opening onto views of the swimming pool and terrace. Upstairs is a large sunny bathroom with bath and shower.

The grounds around the villa are typical mallorcan vegetation, a mixture of carob, almond, fig and wild olive trees strung with hammocks. Surrounding the villa is a large sun terrace with barbecue and along one side of the pool is a shaded wooden deck with plenty of comfortable garden furniture. There is a small park for children - slide, swing, climbing rope and wendy house set in the shade of a large carob tree. We also have an optional security fence for the pool if required.

The house is surprisingly cool during the summer months - partly due to its construction but also because it catches the late afternoon breezes blowing through the valley from artá. Also being in the foothills the temperatures drop at night - but if you still find it warm each bedroom is supplied with fans.

The villa is perfectly situated to discover the real mallorca set between villages full of rustic charm and several off the beaten track beaches within a 20 minute drive. That is if you can drag yourself away from the peace and quiet of your holiday home.

About Molly Atkinson

Originally born in liverpool england but have been living in mallorca since 1992. Married to andreu - mallorquin and we have a daughter carlota born in 2007.

Molly Atkinson purchased this villa in 1998

Why Molly Atkinson chose Balearic Islands

We loved the area, andreu was born closeby and once we had purchased the land started to build our home in 1998. We actually live in the house for most of the year. This may be the reason why guests most frequent comment is just how quickly they relax and feel at home here.

What makes this villa unique

The tranquility of the area makes it special but I love that neither is it isolated. The typical mallorquin village of sant llorenç is just 3 kms away with its pretty church square and sprinkling of bars, shops and restaurants - a couple of which have been michelin recommended! Better still the fabulous beaches of the north east coast are within 20 minutes driving distance. The house is extremely comfortable, as you would expect of a home and the fact that downstairs is one big living area leading onto various outdoor terraces keeps everyone connected within their own favourite space.

Fantastic house

  • 5 of 5

We have rented villas in Mallorca many times and this is one of the best ones we have stayed in. The owners met us at the house and showed us around and were happy to answer any questions we had. The house itself is large and spacious with many different areas to sit and relax. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possible need and the whole house was very clean.

I would definitely recommend this house to friends and family.

Its exactly like the pictures

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in this beautiful villa 3 times and admit to never having written a review - sorry about that, just not something you get round to once it’s all over. This is a beautiful home and we wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else when we go to mallorca. The house is exactly like the pictures, light, airy spotlessly clean and a perfect location. The hospitality shown is great, the owners quick to respond and full of local information. (I have been moved to write this after reading a previous comment, absolute rubbish plus I’ve paid a lot more for a lot less in the past.) The point of these reviews is to help travellers choose amongst the thousands out there. Don’t think twice about it. You won’t be disappointed.

HOLIDAY OF A LIFETIME

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a wonderful holiday. Your home really is a little piece of paradise and we had such a wonderful time. Some of the best days were spent feeding the chickens, enjoying the views and drinking wine under the fairy lights!! Miriam is still missing Kitty and we will always remember him gracefully jumping the hedge in the middle of a hunting session. We all collapsed in hysterics!

I look forward to recommending your villa to all our friends and hope that one day we can return ourselves.

We will always remember our holiday in Mallorca and we thank your beautiful home for giving us the inspiration to make changes in our lives.

Lots of love and hope to be back.

Gina, Albie, Sam and Miriam.

Wonderfull vacation house

  • 5 of 5

The listed descripton was accurate and the property was clean and well-maintained. We were warmfully welcomed at arrival by the owner of the house. The area was very rural, this also means shops, bakery, restaurants are a few minutes away by car. We love using the BBQ for the summer evenings. We were there with small children and the pool and garden have some children's toys. The fence around the pool is also very safe when coming with small children.

Overall the house is very recommendable.

  • 4 of 5

  • 3 of 5

Owner's Response: I am surprised at this negative review as during the guests holiday we received on an almost daily basis photographs of them enjoying themselves in our house along with positive comments. I’m afraid the remarks have stemmed from the fact the guests were not prepared to leave the property at the international standard time of 10.00 am on departure day. We explained we had guests arriving in the afternoon and the house needed preparing but they still refused. Finally it was agreed they could stay until midday. But it made for a very awkward departure. I’m afraid the rest the remarks have absolutely no justification. Unbeknown to us and which the guests have now clarified they were adding chlorine tablets to the pool whenever they felt needed. (A private pool is very different to a public pool and does not need so much chlorine) If, as they themselves admit, the pool was being loaded with tablets there may well have been a chemical reaction. This has never happened before and I can only presume that they altered the delicate balance of the swimming pool. They also broke several things around the property including the pool net for which we did not charge and they appeared grateful and continued to send us photographs of their wonderful holiday. There was an unusual heatwave throughout europe during their stay which would account for the exceptional heat. The property is advertised as being in the countryside. The background noise of sheep bells, hens and crickets are part of the rural charm. To reach the house from any direction there is not one single dirt track so I really do not know where that comment came from. The guests also left behind several articles of clothing for which I enquired if they would like them returning. Apparently they were clothes they did not want and decided to leave in the house. We have never received a negative comment about our home. All this comes from the guests anger at not being allowed to stay until their convenience on departure day and unfortunately have felt the need to vent their frustration in this way. Maybe a rural holiday is not for them and we wish them better luck next year.

Secluded villa with private pool nestled into the foothills bordering the Llevant Nature park in the east of mallorca. Set in the mallorquin countryside, surrounded by carob and almond trees, the house is just 3 kms from the village of Sant Llorenc with its pretty village square lined with bars and restaurants shaded by leafy trees. The village has a natural jumble of village shops but for the avid shopper visit Artá just 6kms away renowned for its craft work and bohemian atmosphere. Second largest city on the island Manacor is 8 kms away once known for its pearl industry today for being the birthplace of Rafel Nadal - he's often seen training at the club. The city has undergone an enormous regeneration in recent years and is well worth a visit in itself and is connected to Palma by train and motorway. Just 15 minutes from the house are a string of virgin beaches and hundreds of coves and sandy beaches - we'll point you in the right direction when you get here. Within 15 minutes are 4 international golf courses - Capdepera, Canyamel, Son Servera and Sera de Pula. If you fancy a visit to one of the holiday resorts the villa is 15 - 20 minutes from Cala Ratjada, Canyamel, Cala Millor, Sa Coma and the pretty fishing village of Porto Cristo. We' d recommend a visit to Son Serra de Marina, about 25 minutes from the house - a long sandy beach flanked by sand dunes and popuar with kite surfers. There's not a hotel in sight and right on the beach are a couple of great restaurants.

Notes:
The villa has so many different areas and spaces making the most of the sun and shade as it moves throughout the day. You could sit and bake from dawn 'til dusk if that's your preference - though no longer recommended. You could even avoid the sun completely and relax in the shadow of leafy trees or lounge on the shaded deck that runs the length of the pool. As the sun moves around the house each terrace creates it own atmosphere. Morning's are beautiful overlooking the pool watching the sunrise. Afternoon is great for lounging in the chill out area as dappled sunlight seeps through the bamboo wall and evenings are made special as the daylight drops and the sunsets viewed from the large terrace at the front of the house.
