About Langlois David

We are a family with 4 children, and we live in the Paris Region. We have 4 children between 14 and 2 years old: 3 boys, Victor, Alice and Albin, and a daughter Alice. David works in the car industry, in the logistics area and travels a lot. Sabine works in the event communication sector. We lived abroad for 6 years, in Poland and Thailand and we constructed this house while we were abroad, so we could have somewhere to go, since our parents live in Amboise.

Langlois David purchased this house in 2006

Why Langlois David chose Indre-et-Loire

We lived abroad for 6 years, in Poland and Thailand and we constructed this house while we were abroad, so we could have a home in France, when we would come back or during or annual holidays. We discovered the Amboise area and the Loire Valley because one of our parent lives in Amboise. We like this magnificent region a lot, on the bank of the Loire River, with so many pleasures, leisure activities, and cultural visits. We lived abroad for 6 years, in Poland and Thailand and we constructed this house while we were abroad, so we could have somewhere to go, since our parents live in Amboise. We spend approximately 2 weekends per month in this house and some days during school holidays.

What makes this house unique

Quiet and silent, green, 2 hours away from Paris, in the heart of the Loire Valley, castles and tourist sites,

Pocé Sur Cisse, 4 km away from Amboise, the Chateau Royal and the house of Leonardo Da Vinci, 17 km away from Chenonceaux, and 25 km from Tours.

House 'submerged' by trees and very bright.

Leisure equipment for the family: 6 bicycles, ping-pong table, a giant and secure trampoline, gas barbecue, and a patio heater.

Lovely home, great for kids

  • 4 of 5

This beautiful modern home was very peaceful and relaxing. Our 2 kids LOVED the trampoline and ping pong table, and it was so nice to find some games and toys for them to play with. We didn't have a chance to use the bikes (and one had a flat tire anyway). The rooms are spacious and comfortable, nice comfy beds, big windows, and very nicely decorated. The owner was easy to communicate with through email and was kindly flexible about methods of payment (we live in the US and couldn't easily do a bank transfer). Some of the appliances were confusing, it would have been nice to have an explanation of how to work the oven, washer, etc. i would also suggest a toaster, as one other reviewer mentioned. The house does not have wifi, though I think the vrbo site says it does. One additional suggestion: while the house was generally clean, we noticed quite a few dirty dishes/pans in the cupboards, many spiderwebs especially in the downstairs bathroom, and the bbq grill really needed to be cleaned. It was a lovely place and with a couple little kinks worked out it will be a fully amazing vacation home.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for choosing the house for your stay in our wonderfull region. We are so happy that you enjoyed the house and thanks very much for your remarks and suggestions to increase our host satisfaction. Concerning appliances, we provided now toaster & kettle. We are really sorry that you found one of our bike inflated as well as some dirty point issues you are related as spiderweb, bbq etc... This will be now included in our review done by the housekeeper before each entry. Regards,

Super property in great location

  • 5 of 5

The property is located just outside of Amboise.

We were a group of 8 (2 families with children). The house is perfect, being large enough to accommodate us all. The facilities are great, and the use of cycles very convenient. The house was nice and clean and the owner (who speaks English) was very helpful. The property is located on a very quiet family road which is a 5 minute bike ride from Amboise.

It is clearly a family home as well as a rental home, so it is a very comfortable home with everything you could want.

We wanted a good base for a cycling holiday and this was perfect. We were here for 3 full days and visited Chenonceau, Vouvray and Amboise. As a family, we were concerned about traffic but this was not a problem. There are many 'green' routes indicating safe cycling, and also many well signposted designated cycle paths.

So 5/5 for accommodation and 5/5 for location.

A recommander vivement.

We had a pleasant stay

  • 4 of 5

We went to the Loire for our yearly wine trip and stayed in this house with two families. From the outside, the house looks descent and well maintained. The gate to the drive-in although is difficult to open, but this is for most other doors in the house as well.

The positive points of this house is that it is spacious, enough room for kids to play, a lot of things to play with. Also the bicycles were very good and we used them a lot to go for bread in the morning, great! The area is well provided with Supermarchés, Restaurants, Bakery and Things to do. Chateau Amboise is maximum a five minute drive. You can even go by bike.

The things we did not like were the very soft and worn out double bed downstairs, take a shower in a bathtub (both upstairs and downstairs). The bed upstairs was rock-hard, you must like that. It was a pity that the BBQ and the terraceheater were both not working because the bottle of gas in both devices were empty, we had to buy ourselfs a new bottle of gas. That’s not what you want if you pay this amounts of money for rent. The kitchen is well equipped and its convenient that there were leftovers from the people that rented before us, some oil, salt and pepper were there. Good. We missed the spotless cleanliness of the house, windows, mirrors and sinks (kitchen and bathroom) were not clean enough and spider webs were everywhere. We were glad that we did not have to clean the house ourselves. This maintenance can be better!

The owner is concencieus, writes very good in English and has a simple contract. Very nice.

Concluded; we had a pleasant stay, missed the WiFi (to browse for information) but were satisfied about the space from the in- and outside!

Très satisfaits!

  • 5 of 5

Encore merci! Petits et grands, nous étions ravis!

Excellent séjour à Pocé sur Cisse

  • 5 of 5

Amboise, cradle of the Renaissance is located in the heart of the Loire Valley Castles. The royal castle of Amboise is located 5 km away and the Clos Luce, last residence of Leonardo da Vinci, transformed into a museum dedicated to his work, is 5 min from the castle.

On Friday and Sunday morning, take a stroll on the bank of the Loire River where is held the largest outdoor market of the department. Many organic producers will be there (market gardener, cheese seller, pork butcher...)

Poce sur cisse is 26 km East from Tours, and is ideally located in relation to other major historical sites of Touraine: The castle of Amboise with its panorama over the Loire, Chenonceaux and its famous Chateau des Dames constructed on the Cher River (17km), Cheverny (13 km), Azay le Rideau (58km), Langeais (63km), Villandry and its Renaissance gardens (60km), Ussé (the castle of Sleeping Beauty) as well as Chaumont (20km) and its international festival of gardens.

Poce sur cisse is also close to Montrésor (46 km), listed one of the prettiest villages of France. A small getaway in the Middle Age is also possible in Montrichard and Loches (37km).

You could walk on hiking trails close to the rental as well as bordering the Loire with a bicycle. You will also be able to taste the Tourangelles products in the many surrounding restaurants and also taste wines of the Loire area. Cellar visits and wine tasting in the troglodyte cellar of the best producers from the area.

Other unusual visits: walks on the Cher or the Loire River, canoeing or traditional boat, overflowing the area or the Loire in hot-air balloon or by plane allow to discover and admire this region recognized by UNESCO.

The closest A85 highways exits (10km) (Lyon-Tours) and A10 (15km) (Lille/Paris-Tours and Nantes-Tours). The train station of Ambroise is 5 min from the rental, and the TGV is at Saint Pierre des Corps (20 km). Tours Val de Loire Airport (Saint Symphorien) is 28 km away serving low cost airlines :

Londres-Stanted (Royaume-Uni) - 2 to 6 flight per week Ryanair

Porto (Portugal) - 3 flight per week - Ryanair

Dublin (Irlande) - march to october - 2 vols hebdomadaires Ryanair
