The apartment is on the first floor of a beautiful mansion dating from the sixteenth century. It has an independent entrance and can comfortably accommodate up to 4 people. The style of the apartment is in full harmony with the city's seafaring history: the thick white-washed stone walls, stone floors, and beautiful vaulted ceilings will make you fully experience the authentic atmosphere of Gallipoli. The location is absolutely perfect as a starting point for a walk through the magnificent monuments of Gallipoli's old town and for a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters of Gallipoli at the nearby beach La Purità.

The apartment has a bedroom with double bed, sitting area, living room with sofa bed, kitchen, stylish bathroom with large shower and second service bathroom.

Gallipoli's old town centre is located on an island connected to the mainland by an 16th century arched bridge.

Immerse yourself in a maze of streets and monuments:

visit the castle, the cathedral of St. Agatha, the greek-roman fountain and admire the changing colours at different times of the day, warming to golden pink hues at sunset. Go shopping in the boutiques and local craft shops. Enjoy an aperitif at sunset in one of the many cafes on the ramparts and watch the sun slowly disappear into the beautiful waters of the Ionian Sea.

The historic center is a restricted traffic zone ZTL, so it can't be accessed by car. Parking is in the port area, is free and is only a few meters from the apartment. The harbour area is very large so it is not difficult to find parking.

Spacious and great location but lacking amenities

My husband and I stayed here with her two teenage daughters.


The location is superb and the apartment is very spacious.

Easy walk to everything around including small markets, stores, restaurants and swimming.

The bathroom is quite spacious and has a large shower.


We were there in the summer when it was very hot. The apartment is advertised as having air conditioning. It has one portable unit that requires the outside door to be open in order to pump the hot air out. It kind of defeats the whole purpose of having air-conditioning by having the door open. The air conditioning unit only cools the room where it is located. Our bedroom where we slept was extremely hot even with the ceiling fan on. We had to sleep with the window open which made for a noisy night.

The apartment also advertises Internet but this is an additional cost and unreliable.

If you do have a car parking can be a hassle. You must park in the port area.

The kitchen did not have enough mugs for the four of us, no cooking spatulas and moldy wooden spoons.

Gallipoli really is an amazing place with some incredible swimming. Despite the downfalls of the apartment, we loved our stay there.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback. We are always keen to make our guests' stay more comfortable and enjoyable and have taken your comments on board.  We have replaced the cooking utensils and provided additional mugs. We are also consulting to find the best way to fix the mobile air-conditioning unit and the exhaust so that it isn’t necessary to have the window open. At the same time we’ll install a second unit. We were perplexed by some of the 'cons' mentioned as they are things which are clear in the listing or were made clear in private correspondence before booking (carpark, wi-fi and air-conditioning). An urban settlement situated on an island and dating back 2000 years presents a series of characteristics which we noted in your feedback you enjoyed. Much of the construction in the old centre is hundreds of years old, the streets are narrow and the old city is confined by the sea on all sides. Naturally, traffic and parking must be limited. We are lucky that Gallipoli has a large public carpark for the historical centre and at approximately 300 metres from the apartment it is convenient. This service allows the city to be enjoyed by tourists and residents alike. Were cars able to circulate freely in the historical centre, it would make traffic, parking and noise levels impossible! The apartment is a 16th century building and planning laws prohibit the installation of external air-conditioning units to the external facade of buildings. We take our responsibility to maintain the aesthetic and authenticity of the built environment seriously and decided when we renovated not to install air-conditioning. The thick stone walls maintain the temperature within the house quite cool, even when external temperatures are hot, as previous guests have noted in their feedback.  Nevertheless, at the beginning of this summer we decided to purchase at least one air-conditioning unit for those occasions when it is necessary. In order for guests to be able to manage best how to use it we opted for a mobile unit which is why there is no fixed location for the unit's exhaust and requires a window open. Certainly, if guests are looking for accommodation with street parking out the front and centralised air-conditioning, we would recommend accommodation in the modern part of town rather than in a 16th century apartment in the historical centre. We also believe that they would miss the most charming and interesting features of Gallipoli!

Gallipoli Centro storico CASA VACANZA 1115247.Il soggiorno presso questa struttura è stato molto piacevole, l'appartamento dotato di ogni comfort è esattamente come da foto, ben arredato, pulito e comodo per visitare tutte le attrazioni turistiche che offre Gallipoli e per farsi un bagno nel suo splendido mare, facilmente raggiungibile a piedi.Consigliato!!!

Fantastic Property in Gallipoli

This is a fantastic place to stay in Gallipoli. My partner and I stayed for a week this month and had a very pleasant stay. The apartments is right in the historical centre of Gallipoli. It contains everything you need for a very comfortable stay. There is an independent entry to the apartment from the street. The apartment is beautiful, very clean and has a nice layout. It's actually very cool even during hot days because the walls of the building are very thick. After all, this a building dating back to the XVI century. Stefano, the guy who looks after the property, is a lovely guy with loads of information about Puglia and who would want to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I highly recommend this property and if we ever go back to Gallipoli we will definitely stay here again. Thanks Stefano for everything!

The coastline which boasts Gallipoli is among the most fascinating d 'Italy and consists of low cliffs alternating with wide beaches lined promenade Galilei.

Among its monumental and artistic remember, however, the Angevin Castle and the Rivellino, the Cathedral of Sant 'Agata, the Church of the Sacred Heart, the Church of the Carmine, the Church of St. Dominic the Rosary, the Church of San Francesco da Paola, the Church of Santa Cristina, the Church of Santa Teresa from Altavilla, the Greek Fountain.

 During the summer, Gallipoli is literally overrun by a flow of tourists rather varied, attracted by the clear blue sea, nature, art, cuisine and the many clubs, discos and clubs scattered in the area.

In addition to tourism the main economic activity is fishing that makes an authentic seaside town of Gallipoli. Some prints dating back to the eighteenth century, illustrate how the Gallipoli harbor was crowded with ships from all over Europe. The port allows the 'landing of different types of boats with tourist merchant.

His devotion to the sea and fishing is still clearly visible today. Close to the port takes place every day a fish market, also addressed to individuals and tourists, where you can buy over the fish caught, even decorative items such as corals and shells.
