Great Vacation Spot
The cabin is set up on a hill, away from other cabins, very secluded and very picturesque. It was very clean, stocked with what one would need to stay awhile. Would suggest that you buy any food you want before going up there since the trip down the mountain to a grocery store is rather lengthy. We would definitely rent this cabin again. Cheryll was extremely responsive to any questions we had.
This is a wonderful cabin and very well kept. It was perfect to get away and relax. The owner answered our questions and had great suggestions of things to do near the cabin. We definitely be keeping this cabin on our list for return visits. Thx.
Long weekend getaway
Cabin was very clean and had everything we expected and more. Enjoyed watching the pileated woodpeckers. Only improvements would be the check in,I had to try 3 different ways to get in touch with Cheryll to get the lockbox code
Finally reached her the day before check in. That made me a little nervous. Had a great time exploring the area.
Just what we needed.
Terrific get-away cabin. Secluded yet with a lot of activity choices. Cabin was very clean, spacious, and well stocked with everything you need for vacation. The day bed on the back porch is the perfect place to relax while reading and enjoying the mountain view. The Reliance area has so much to offer for outdoor adventure. Lots of hiking, waterfalls, and river activities. Definitely visit Tellico Grains Bakery. Cheryll was great to work with and accommodating.
Extremes: Very Nice With Unexpected Problems
The cabin was beautiful, nice and roomy. The kitchen was great. The location was very remote. It would have been perfect except for the following:
1 - Immediately following our visit myself and my traveling companion have broken out in bites that we fear are from bedbugs. We have not been in the same house since leaving the cabin, so it is the only common place we've shared. We notified the owner and were assured there are no bedbugs.
2 - We could not get the Wi-Fi to connect. We both had cell phones with different carriers. We used the given password, trying several times. We DO know how this is usually done. I got the following response "Authentication problem". Not even my friend’s satellite phone, which worked fine in Europe earlier this month, would not connect. The owner told us visitors before and after us had no problems.
3 - We had no cell phone service, so we found the mentioned wireless sets and plugged them in. Once charged, I plugged the base set into the phone jack on the bar. The phone read, "No Line". It did not get a dial tone. The owner did not respond to this comment.
4 - We looked for the regular land-line phone we were told was in the bottom kitchen drawer. All we found were pot holders, cup towels, place mats, and dish cloths. The owner did not respond to this comment.
5 - The up-stair twin beds were extremely uncomfortable. The owner said these beds were going to be replaced soon.
6 - Directions to the cabin mention a tan mail box with the house number on it. We could not find a mail box. The cabin was up a steep drive that could not be seen from the road. The mail box would have been a nice confirmation that we were not driving up to the wrong place. The owner did not respond to this comment.
It is most unfortunate that we had these fairly serious problems as the cabin was otherwise very nice.
Cheryll was great! She made sure everything was good for us during our stay. The cabin was clean, comfortable bed and anything you would need to cook an awesome meal. The property was as expected with the outside areas being nice and private and ready for our nature observing and listening pleasure. Saw beautiful large moths, heard wild turkey in the mornings and saw many birds. Heard the whippoorwill calls late into the evening. The back screen porch was our favorite spot at night. There is a hot tub in the fire pit area and boy that was a special treat on a cool evening under the stars. And our dog Buck was in complete heaven! Don’t hesitate to ask Cheryll if your well behaved pup can come too! Short drive away to beautiful waterfalls. We spent a lot of time in Tellico Plains area and fished the Tellico River. If your from out of state visiting its super easy to get a 3-7 day non resident fishing lic.
We caught a beautiful brown spotted trout! The river is amazing and there are many places to pull off river road to fish or enjoy the scenery.
Thanks so much Cheryll for a wonderful experience for the three of us.
We highly recommend this property for any nature lovers!
