Honest review NO WIFI

  • 3 of 5

The photos of the house from the street must have been taken when the parade was due because at other times it would have shown the cars parked all along the street making it very difficult to park. If you have a small car it can be parked in the garage but anything larger means driving around to find a space that is not blocking the road for emergency vehicles.

Child bunk bed room. The door handle came off the inside and my grandsons were locked in the room!

The door handle in the master bedroom was the same. We couldn't shut the door.

The master bedroom shower never worked. I was unable to use the bath after a fall walking on the narrow sidewalk coming down from a parking space!!!!

THERE IS NO WIFI.

There was no response when we tried to get them fixed. I will not recommend Falmouth Cottages. They are over-priced and the cancellation policy is punative compared to others I have used.

Owner's Response: Despite the guest heading her review 'Honest' I am afraid that the the only honest part is the fact that our cancellation policy is punitive when guests such as Margaret attempt to cancel a booking 3 days before they are due to arrive and expect a full refund - unfortunately this review is quite simply their attempt to retaliate. To confirm the house has fully functioning BT WiFi, we have produced a short video showing the working router and a guest happily connecting to the internet - should anyone wish to see this then please contact us. We also have images of a large estate car parked in the garage which we will happily share as well. We have also parked a Volvo XC90 and a Land Rover Discovery in the garage - maybe both smaller than the average American car, but some of the very biggest on the roads in Cornwall. All of the showers are working and there are no issues with the doors - you simply need to turn the handles the right way to open them! Flushing is a picturesque village in Cornwall steeped in history - we do not have large "sidewalks" as in the USA, in some places we have no sidewalks at all! Most of our guests love the quirky nature of these Cornish fishing villages and thankfully "injuries" such as yours are rare. Here in sleepy Flushing you will always be able to park your second car but yes Margaret you may have to walk a few steps to do so - being a village that is hundreds of years old does mean that some things such as being to park directly outside the door (as you may be used to in the US) are not possible. At no point did this angry guest try to contact us during their stay - maybe Cornwall is just not for them after the bright lights of America. As I said earlier, expecting a full refund when you try to cancel 3 days before you are due to arrive is simply unrealistic, it is just a shame that Margaret felt this less than honest review to be a suitable response to that.

A lovely family home.

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautifully appointed home and it was ideal for our gathering of family and friends during my visit from Australia. The beds are very comfortable with good quality looking linen. The village of Flushing was delightful and very quiet despite it being late June. The wifi was almost non-existent which was tricky for us making arrangements and contact with overseas. The only real problem was with several door handles which resulted in my disabled nephew and later my 86 year old mother being unable to exit their rooms. This was flagged in the visitors book some time ago. I would have appreciated a manual with information about hot water systems, location of pegs, airers etc. However, this is a wonderful house and I would not only love to return but also would highly recommend it to friends and family. Thank you.

Impressive house with lots of space and well presented to a high standard

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house. The two lounges meant there was room for the whole family to spread out and the huge kitchen and dining room were well suited to self-catering. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also first class. The village is very friendly with 2 great pubs - we like The Royal Standard best, the food was amazing. The only thing we did not like was going home!!!

Stunning house - we loved it!

  • 5 of 5

When we booked the cottage we were aware that the house had just been renovated but we were shocked when we opened the door - THE HOUSE WAS STUNNING!! The standard of decoration and cleanliness was above anything we have experienced from a holiday cottage in the past. The owners had thoughtfully left us with a cream tea and even a basket of logs for the wood-burning stove.

We had 3 children along with granny and grandad in our party and the house never felt cramped. The 2 sitting rooms meant that when the kids wanted to play on the games console the adults could relax without the noise and the large table in the dining room meant we could all enjoy a meal together, very rare in our house!

As out stay was in January we didn't get to use the courtyard garden but we could imagine being able to throw open the doors in the summer and have breakfast outside.

The master bedroom reminded us of a hotel, calming colours and a HUGE comfortable bed - having both a shower and a bath in the ensuite was wonderful. The other bedrooms were also lovely and I wanted to take the freestanding bath in the family bathroom home!

Ninevah has a very luxurious feel about it and we were very sad to leave - we will recommend your services to as many people as we can, thank you and all the best!
