Enter via double doors to a hallway and spacious adjoining dining salon for eight with adjacent kitchen, offering direct access to the lake for relaxation and your al-fresco pleasure.
A wonderful Moltrasio-stone staircase leads to the first floor with media lounge and satellite TV, writing corner, card room, and wisteria-shaded balcony with seating for four overlooking the garden with lake views.
Progress up to the second level to the spacious master bedroom with French doors to a balcony overlooking the piazza, and private outdoor terrace with sun-lounge furniture, and en-suite bathroom with basin, shower, toilet and bidet. The third double bedroom located one floor below, adjacent to the lounge, also overlooks the piazza, and avails the ground-floor bathroom.
Casa Klimt offers numerous places to escape, or to mingle, as the mood takes one in tastefully furnished rooms and outdoor spaces set with wrought-iron and soft furnishing. In the evening the home’s lighting adds a restful ambiance.
Adjacent to the dining salon with separate bench-seating, the kitchen features a four-burner hob with oven, and a free-standing retro-style Smeg dishwasher and refrigerator. We are pleased to meet your specific requirements for catering with service staff and personal chef at additional cost.
Casa Klimt is situated in a secluded locale with car access via the `Vallée` and one secure parking spot, with further free parking available within the village precincts.
On your doorstep the village of Sala Comacina offers a choice of dining experiences with local and international fare, all with al-fresco seating overlooking the lake, including La Tirlindana in Piazza Matteotti, La Comacina and Taverna Bleu at the entry to Sala, and wood-oven pizza at Pro-Loco under the plane trees above the boat moorings. On Comacina Island, La Laconda has been enjoyed by many ‘rich and famous’, and celebrates the island’s history with a 45-year old table d’hôte menu (cash only). Also on the island, ‘La Botte’ Bar is a lovely spot to linger over a coffee, an ice-cream, or a dink (both establishments can be reached by water taxi from Sala’s Piazza Matteotti). Sala also presents three other bars with their own unique ambiance; freshly baked bread daily (with grocery items and newspapers) at Amalia’s, artisan butcher, post office, bank with Bancomat, and village church, all within 200 metres of Casa Klimt.

Hello, I’m Maria and I hope you will enjoy staying in my casa in Sala Comacina. I love the works by Klimt, and with my own personal passion for oil painting I hope you enjoy the images that I have displayed. Please enjoy the house with its various indoor and outdoor spaces overlooking the water, with ease to visit the unique attractions of Lake Como, which with a little planning can ensure a relaxing holiday without a need for driving.
Just spent 4 days at this fabulous lakefront property. The property could not be any closer to the water. The ferry is a 3 minute walk away. The owner is very responsive and provided tons of info on the area including helping to arrange for day trips and local sights. The local residents are also very nice. Home is large with 3 bedrooms and easily housed 4 adults. They have several balconies so you can just sit with your drink and watch the boats pass by.
Casa Klimt is an absolutely charming house in the pleasant village of Sala Comacina. Its quirky interior means it manages to be both spacious and cosy - from the large kitchen space, flagstone stairs climb to the floors above where there are further sitting rooms and three lovely bedrooms, plus several delightful, jasmine-scented terraces giving views onto the little cobbled piazza or across the lake to the hills beyond. The décor has been given a lot of thought, with beautiful, individual wooden pieces of furniture in the bedrooms, plenty of comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, and of course, Klimt artwork! The sun terrace with its little boat-dock below is the perfect place to sunbathe or enjoy an Aperol as the sun sets over the lake.
Beyond the house, Sala Comacina has several lovely restaurants (perhaps none to beat the Lido pizzeria, a short stroll along the lakefront, as a place to see local life). There is a little bakery / grocery (with a very friendly owner) and a butchers shop. Having parked the car in the secure parking spot (about 100 metres from the house), we didn't use it again the whole week, travelling either across the lake on the frequent ferry that serves the village, or on the excellent bus service that runs along the lakeside road.
We spent a magical week here (thank you, Maria, and Robby) and can't wait for a chance to return.
The charming village of Sala Comacina is renowned for its particular micro-climate sheltered by the only island in Lake Como. Here lake fishing and olive oil production back to time immemorial have seen the village prosper. Today tourists continues to enjoy a unique village ambiance, which together with the village's central position on the premier western shore of Lake Como close to all tourist attractions makes this friendly village such a great year-round holiday destination.
