We are the proud owners of this house. We have lived in it and we promise you that you will feel good spirit in the house and you will feel well around the ocean. We have been in the tourist business for many years, we owned a café house for 10 years and a hotel for 3 years and everybody who has stayed at our hotel or dined at our café house loved our hospitality and we hope that you will join that group of people.
Rakel Guðjónsdóttir purchased this house in 2012

Firsty, We met Martha and her husband at the agreed meeting point which was easy to find with the directions given. They were both extremely friendly and helpful. As advised we done our shopping here as it was considerably cheaper than the local shopping near the house. We found the house without any problems and were in complete awe of the surroundings and views upon arrival. Stepping inside was the same, greeted by a really warm cosy house when it was so cold outside was just heaven. Everything was immaculate and thoroughly thought through. The seating arrangements, the beds etc were all bought with only comfort in mind. The kitchen has everything imaginable and more. There are candles everywhere to add to the ambience with games, films and playstation you could easily stay at the house without getting bored.
The location is perfect for visting the usual sites, we did however venture out to the black beach and small glacier out towards the east which was around 2 hours away but worth the trip. The national park etc are all within 20 minutes of the house.
Just to top it all the Northern lights came out twice for us just glimmering above the house as we sat and watched on the varanda. I cant recommend this house enough or Iceland for that matter. This was our 2nd trip to Iceland and we are already planning out 3rd. Book, you will not be disappoined.
We spent a wonderful week in this great place. We were 2 couples - lots of space. Location was perfect for visitng the sites. Owners were extremely friendly and helpful upon arrival. Highly recommend this place and would love to come back in the future.
We had a great time here. Very warm thanks to the underfloor heating, even when -5 outside. Well equipped and comfortable with everything you might need (only thing we missed were a couple of mugs for tea and coffee).
The setting is great, close to a local shop and petrol station in Laugarvatn. Geysir and Gullfoss are quite close. Vik is beautiful on a sunny day but a much longer drive of course.
The house has a very spacious feel thanks to the open plan living room / kitchen layout and also the large amount of patio windows that open out on to the decking. You'll like it!
We would like to come again without doubt and if you can wrap up warmly, March is a great time to see Iceland.
An absolutely beautiful house in a region with stunning vistas.
The location is very central to many of the most impressive natural sites in the southwest Iceland. Gullfoss and Geyser are close by, as is the Pingvellar national park. The location also permits a (long) same day return drive to the remarkable Vatnajökull glacier and its Jokulsarlon iceberg lake.
Rakel & Martha are wonderful hosts - providing advice on where to shop before heading from Reykjavik and equipping the house with everything you could want. The house was beautifully laid out and spotless.
We stayed for five nights. With two teenage children, the house provided a room for everyone with lots of space to relax.
Couldn't recommend it more highly.
This property is amazing. The radiant floors keep you warm, you have fantastic views all around. This is just off of the golden circle path, so it is 20 minutes from anything you want to see. The house is so beautiful and well kept. There is a washer/dryer combo, wifi, outdoor furniture for good weather days. It is not around many other properties, so light pollution is at a minimum meaning good views for the northern lights. The owners are extremely friendly and responsive. We cannot recommend this property any more. You need to book it asap!
The house is very lovely and I highly recommend it. The appliances, location, privacy of the place and the fact it was well kept up all contributed to our enjoyment of the place. This house is very ideal for a small group and it is surrounded by a lovely terrace.
