Owner's Response: I'm sorry the house was not what you were looking for. The kitchen is fully equipped and most people appreciate the spaciousness. The furniture is deliberately functional as we cater mostly for families but we also have areas such as the dining room which are certainly not basic. Thank you for taking the time to write a short review and we will certainly take your comments into consideration.

Great location and comfortable accommodation.

  • 4 of 5

A handsome large house in a lovely position with great views from the garden and almost all the rooms. It's well equipped, provides plentiful hot water, is efficiently heated, and there's easily enough room for 8 people.

The owner is helpful and the entry instruction clear.

Gatehouse of Fleet is a pleasant mid-sized village with a couple of food shops and pubs, a park, and various gift shops. Close to the beaches, hills and beautiful countryside of Dumfries and Galloway.

Only downside is that the fridge(s) could be bigger / better.

Loads of space and beatiful views

  • 5 of 5

Property was in great location for exploiting the views out through the conservatory and large windows. Rooms are large and enough space for our two families and everything clean and fresh. 5 minutes walk to the Masonic arms which sold good food/beer. Beach as Mossyard is stunning and fortunately we had good weather during our stay.

Nice large, warm house in lovely setting

  • 5 of 5

Great house with large rooms and good central heating. Location is great, feesl like out in the country, but just a short walk to pubs and shops in the lovely town of Gatehouse. Great location for beaches and hills and not crowded with tourists.

Exceeded expectations

  • 5 of 5

When you book online you never know what you're getting but you go on previous reviews and keep your fingers crossed! We arrived at the house after 8 hour drive from Sussex. The house was warm and welcoming.- it is absolutely huge and we seemed to come upon another room as we checked it out. The bedrooms are large and comfortably furnished, sinks in each room too.. There is a self contained extension which is useful.

Large living room and dining room with beautiful views across the fields. The kitchen has everything you need and a utility room with washing machine and dryer, ironing board. There are two fridges which was good as there were 7 of us.

The house could easily accommodate 10 without feeling overcrowded. We were up for a family wedding so didn't have much time for touring the area but we went to a pretty bay - Brighouse not faraway and a lovely drive up and around Loch Ken.

Would highly recommend this property especially good for a large family gathering.
