Wonderful Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for 3 nights and it was absolutely wonderful! The location is very convenient to the boat, Rialto Bridge, San Marco and the bus station. We stayed in 3 different places throughout Italy on our vacation and this was our favorite because it was cozy, comfortable and charming. The brick wall and beams add to the charm. The a/c worked very well which was essential since it was in the high 80's-90's while we were in Venice. The apartment had everything we needed including maps, travel books about Venice, all the cooking utensils we needed and a huge bathroom. There is a small market up the street and we cooked breakfast & lunch at the apartment every day. The home is very close to San Polo where there is a great restaurant that we visited. Would definitely stay here again if we travel to Venice.

Charming apartment with great location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this property! After reading the reviews we were a little concerned about the size of the apartment as we were traveling with out 18 year old granddaughter. However, there was plenty of room for all of us. Nicely stocked kitchen, lovely bathroom and good air conditioning and Wi-fi. Pier was great with all correspondence and instructions. I texted the woman who was to meet our boat/taxi but I had inputted the number wrong. She still showed up and found us immediately. She walked very quickly from the vaporetto to the apt and we weren't sure we could find our way back but it wasn't a problem by the time we left after two nights. This property is close to everything! It is a stones throw to a yummy gelato shop and close to lots of shopping activity including a grocery market, many restaurants, and a variety of gift stores. We visited in July and it was quite hot with high humidity. The streets were packed with tourists except during my 7:00 am walk. St. Mark's Square and the Rialto bridge were close by and we used them for a point of reference. We do suggest picking up a map when you get to Venice though because it is easy to get lost and we did several times. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment for two or three people or to even rent the larger one Pier has available. This was a great experience!

Quite Happy

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 3 stayed for 2 nights in this nice apartment in Venice and we left with warm feelings. To begin with our contact person, Marcella was really responsive in picking us up near the boat landing and answering our questions. It is a 2nd floor (1st floor in Europe) studio apartment with its own entrance on a quiet street 50-60 ft away from busy road and 5 minute walk from boat stop. It is well furnished and has a decent size kitchen and a nice bathroom. It is kept clean and tastefully decorated. The beds were firm, considering in this price range you mostly get 'pull out sofa beds'. Kitchen was stocked with coffee, salt, pepper etc basic essentials. We only wish the windows have drapes, just to have more privacy. If we go back to Venice, I am sure our first choice will be this apartment.

Very quaint, comfortable, a sweet slice of Venice.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for two nights with our 22 year old daughter. We loved this place. The apartment is small but much better than staying in a hotel. We loved the decorating, storage space, small kitchen and very nice bath. The beds were memory foam and quite comfortable. The description was accurate regarding the amenities. The property was clean and everything was functional. Pier gave us good instructions regarding contacting Tina once we arrived by train.

Of the 3 places we stayed in Rome, Florence and Venice, we liked this one the most. Great character and location. Everything worked fine even while the outside temperature was 37 degrees. The apartment cooled quickly. There is a nice little market just around the corner. We prepared most of our meals but found a couple of nice restaurants between the vaporetto stop and the apartment for dinners. The location was clean, safe and quiet (day and night).

Tina was helpful even though we spoke only english and some high-school french. She pointed out the route from the vaporetto, the grocery market, the electrical breakers in apartment, explained the air conditioner. She spoke some french that helped us converse. She was not very helpful when asked about favourite restaurants, but maybe I was pushing the boundaries of communication...

We had her phone number but more importantly, the owner's number in case of emergency. I would highly recommend this unit for any couple or threesome wishing to experience living in Venice.

Cozy neighborhood

  • 3 of 5

I enjoyed the location of the apt., very cozy and quaint and felt very safe walking the neighborhood. Walking distance to vaperettos (water taxi) to all major sites. Lots of good places to eat in the apt. Neighborhood.

The owner sent us a lady to meet us at the Vaperetto stop (San Silvestro), the problem is that she spoke no English. There were no instructions in the apt. For anything. When the electricity shut down, we were without a fridge, microwave, hot water etc. The bed was a pull out couch, so it was like sleeping on springs.

If you only speak English, this may be an issue

Nice location

Owner's Response: This guest is very unfair and liar! The mattress of the sofa has not springs, but it's a new mattress in memory-foam, bought separately to ensure comfort. I have given to guest by mail all the information, and I said that Mrs. Tina does not speak English, but that for any problem he can write email or call me. I wrote to him: "Due to intense heat, electricity in Venice is reduced. In August there have been problems, lack of electricity. However, I ask you to respect the following rules: Please, do not turn on the air conditioning below 23 degrees. If temperature below 23 degrees, it is possible that the electricity meter can go out. Always turn off when you're not at home, lights and air conditioning. When you get home, you turn on the air conditioning, and in five minutes the house cools." The guest did not respect the rules, air conditioning was on when he was not at home (Mrs. Tina turned off!). The guest has my phone number, my email address, the phone number Mrs.Tina, but he has not contacted anyone. If he warned, in a few minutes Tina was going to solve the problem: only a switch turned off, to turn on! The guest stayed 2 days in my studio: the first day he met Tina for check-in, on the second day he met Tina also, and he said all right. Only the night before departure, he write me email very rude! So the problem was only on the last night, not for all its 2-day stay.
