About Philip Green

Philip and Derek own a specialist travel business.

This is our home in Scotland where we spend at least one month per year and holiday let the house the rest of the year.

Philip grew up a Yorkshire farmer and Derek is from Carlisle.

Philip Green purchased this chateau / country house in 1988

Why Philip Green chose Scottish Highlands & Islands

Philip first saw this house in April 1988 and fell in love with the spectacular location and this beautiful Scottish house. He immediately bought it and has since spent many happy times with family and friends in this magnificent house.

We have renovated the house twice since 1988 and re-landscaped the grounds in 2013.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

It is spacious, warm and comfortable. Even if there are 14 of you, it doesn't feel crowded. Some folks sit in the conservatory, some play pool, some hang out in the kitchen and others watch the 42 inch flat screen TV in the lounge.

We all get together for meals around the dining table.

We have had many parties here:- just move one settee from the lounge to the hall, roll back the rug and you have room for Scottish Country dancing. Oh the Gay Gordons! What a Highland Fling!

Fabulous House and Location

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent 3 nights here in this fabulous house and as for the location I don't think it could be beaten. Sitting in the garden in unbelievable weather for April looking out over the loch turn to the left for snow capped Glencoe and look to the right towards Corran etc. Lovely clear water to walk near. The house was full of lovely furniture and paintings.. So big I kept getting lost, no fighting over bathrooms or toilets , many to pick from. Loved sitting in the cosy Conservatory just drinking in the view. As for the 2 dogs they both thought they were in heaven ..!! Lots of space and easy access to the beach for them. Would love to return one day..

Thank you for short but very sweet holiday enjoyed by 3 generations and 2 lively dogs..

Très belle maison offrant des vues incroyables

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful castle for a unique experience!

  • 5 of 5

The "castle" was amazing with incredible views, peaceful location, and such unique architecture. We spent hours just admiring the architecture and the furnishings. The art is so gorgeous. It is rare to find such splendor in a vacation house. Hope to return next year!

Glorious Glencoe

  • 5 of 5

Our holiday exceeded expectations. That was undoubtedly helped by an unseasonal heatwave during our stay, but we all had a fantastic time surrounded by obscenely beautiful countryside. The house was large and clean but very homely with incredible views - especially from the conservatory. The only quibble would be the lack of locks on some toilet doors. We would all recommend this location to everyone we know.

This castle looking house was amazing for our family vacation. Very spacious, well maintained, tastefully decorated. We fell in love with the house and the area and want to come back for another stay.

Car: recommended

Set on the sea shore, with magnificent panoramic views of the sea and the mountains.

Ideal touring base with routes radiating out in all directions.

Close to Ben Nevis and even closer to the magnificent mountains of Glencoe. A perfect base for climbing the dozens of 'Munro' mountains within a 30 minute drive, or easy local walks direct from the house such as the 3 mile circular route around Inchree waterfalls.

Excellent base for cycling and mountain biking in the surrounding forest tracks or along the old railway line to Oban which is now a national cycle path.
