First thing that should have been a clue as to what we were getting into was, months after we booked it they called to tell me they had overbooked and we would lose a day. We were refunded for that day and we are a pretty easy going bunch so no big deal. Upon arrival we walked in while the maids were still working and noticed the out of order sign on the main downstairs A/C unit. The sign had obviously been there for quite some time. We asked the maid about it and she said "That cost like a thousand dollars to fix" then assured us it would get plenty cool in there with the little window A/C in the kitchen. This was certainly not the case as the house was 87 degrees in the heat of the day and only tolerable about 3am to 8am. The owner finally got someone on our fourth day to come fix the A/C downstairs and supply a little portable unit. It was okay after that. We also noticed the dock was missing planks and I heard someone else staying there had fallen through a slot that was open. I don't know how long those planks were missing (probably for some time by the looks of it.) A fellow showed up the day after the guest fell and replaced the missing boards. Now comes the "WET SLIPS" or should I say the dry slips. We put our boats in on a high tide and tied them off for the night. We went to meet up with some friends that we found out had stayed were we were four years before. They warned us that it was tidal and our boats would get stuck on low tide and we wouldn't be able to get out. Upon to return our boats were sitting on the mud. When the owner came down to see because we were not the only ones complaining she said she had never seen that happen before. Since our friends had the same experience four years before I would have to assume that was less than a honest answer. The two end slips were the only real wet slips. They not only don't assign slips worse yet they rent them to people who aren't staying there. Bottom line is unless they dredge, bring a airboat.
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at our cabin. This location is A+ and we loved being in walking distance to Sea Hag Marina. We stayed with our two sons and a friend and had plenty of room!
There was 11 of us celebrating my sons future wedding and the Place was perfect. Plenty of room for all of us, nice kitchen and great porch! But the best part was the location. We docked our boat steps from the house and were on the ocean in minutes! It made for a hassle free and fun weekend! And we killed the scallops!
Great location, lots of space, perfect for keeping your boat, etc. Owners easily reachable for any issues or concerns. I would return.
Great location!! Easily accessible to everything..
Next door to sea hag, perfect for a big group
Very clean, nice cove to park boat in. Marina next door.
Perfect place to stay while scalloping !!! Easy access
