About Atlanta and Dave Coote
We are a local family. We have 4 children and we just love the area with its copious beaches. The ancient town of Rye is one of our favourite spots with its cobbled streets, antique shops and many restaurants.
Atlanta and Dave Coote purchased this Bungalow in 2012
Why Atlanta and Dave Coote chose Icklesham
Winchelsea Beach is great place to go with the kids for an old fashioned bucket and spades holiday. We love the beach shack feel for this 1920's wooden house although we have not compromised on creature comforts or style. We actually run a photographic locations agency for our day jobs and this house has been photographed many times for magazine and catalogues like Boden and The White Company.
What makes this Bungalow unique
This house has an old fashioned English charm harping back to childhood holidays by the sea. A local family of ducks are regular visitors and if you are lucky they will waddle up the garden and say hello! In fact we have even created them their own little entrance so that they can come and go as they please. We have extensively re-decorated the interior with vintage furnishings and with the emphasis on reclaimed materials. It is in a quiet location near the sea, and although on a residential road it feels secluded without being remote. It has beautiful views across a meadow at the back. THe whole property is fully fenced in and a picket fence separates the main garden from the parking area so you can feel secure letting little ones roam freely. Please note though that there is a river running along the back of the property and although fully fenced off we do advise that you make sure children climb on or over it.

It is a lovely house in a lovely part of East Sussex close to Winchelslea and Rye
We liked the interior design very much and the deck around the house with outdoor furniture positioned so you can get the sun all day is brilliant. Sadly October is a bit late for breakfast out of doors but it must be wonderful in summer.
The house is well equipped and comfortable- the underfloor heating kept us warm in the evenings and early morning.
There is so much to do on the area for children and adults - a long weekend was all too short.
We have come away with many happy memories.
Chic Retreat for all the family
Simplistic style, with all we needed to make our stay so enjoyable.
When we arrived we were a little reserved at the location. Then every day we discovered something new to do. Even in the pouring rain an afternoon at the Ship made it all wonderful. We will return.
Perfect location near Rye and the ocean
Cosy house with great veranda and short distance to Rye.
We were a mixed family bunch of 5 and all of us loved the cool design both inside and out of "Wynchelsea". We were also blessed with exceptional weather so could enjoy breakfast on the veranda. There was nothing lacking save a few light bulbs here and there, brilliantly appointed and decorated; I think one or two of us wished it had rained so we could have enjoyed the many board games in the games cupboard! We would thoroughly recommend this home as a superb escape from the hustle and bustle of today's life.
Lovely house, had everything you would need for your stay. Would defiantly recommend staying there
Stay here for a long weekend with friends. The house is lovely and has everything you would need for your stay. It was very clean. Only downside was the single beds were a little hard for me but that's down to preference, other than that I couldn't fault it. Would recommend to friends and family
Cheeky weekend away
House was beautiful and sets a great atmosphere. Really pleasant stay :)
Winchelsea Beach is a lovely coastal village and the local pub called The Ship serves great food and is only a 5-10 minute walk away. The beautiful and ancient town of Rye with its copious restaurants and antique shops is only a 5 minute drive away. Other local attractions include Hastings, Camber Sands Beach, Bodiam Castle and of course the stunning coast line of East Sussex and Kent, all this only one and a half hours form London
Wynchelse house is a truly peaceful spot but not at all remote. Perfect for couples, families and even two families who want to share! Please not this house is near the beach not ON the beach.
