Comfortable and quiet home in Quail Creek Resort. It is located two blocks from the golf Clubhouse and Community Center and backs up to a desert area with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. There are no neighbors behind you so it is very private and quiet. The back patio area has been extended to enjoy the beautiful Arizona nights. A gas BBQ is included. The master bedroom has a king sized bed with contemporary furniture. A new luxury comforter has just been added. The second bedroom has just been updated with a new queen size bed. The great room is furnished in southwest style with a brand new 42 inch flat screen LCD TV with Dish network cable, a DVD player, and stereo. High speed internet access is also included with a wireless router. The kitchen comes complete with a gas range, side by side refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, and all the dishes, tableware, coffee maker, blender, and everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
This house is set up with everything you need to move in for your stay. All you need to bring is your golf clubs and suntan oil! You also have access to all the amenities that Quail Creek has to offer, which are all on-site. These include a heated lap pool, a heated lounging pool, spa, bocci ball courts, tennis courts, fitness facility, and a championship 18-hole golf course (green fees extra). All these facilities are located within a block of this house - easy walking distance!
There is also a dog park in Quail Creek.
I am from Rapid City, SD but have lived in Arizona since 1975. I am active in real estate in the Phoenix area, but bought down in Quail Creek to get out of the hustle and bustle of the big city. I plan to retire in Quail Creek as soon as possible!
Craig Meier purchased this house in 2007
I bought here because Quail Creek is the premier community in Green Valley, It has all the amenities on site, so you don't have to go anywhere if you don't want to. One of the things I love about Quail Creek is the quietness of the night. There is also world class bird watching and hiking nearby and lots of interesting places to explore in Southern Arizona.
I love staying here because of the quiet nights and bright stars. Its like being out in the country. No city noise, just peace and quiet and a skyfull of bright stars! What a relaxing place to stay!
The location was great - close to the club house and backing onto a wash. Backyard visitors included javelinas, coyotes, roadrunners and a beautiful American kestrel.
But there were maintenance issues: the propane grill didn't work until repaired by a local handyman that our realtor found for us. The gas fire pit wouldn't stay lit, the shower drain in the second bathroom was very slow. The kitchen was well appointed with plenty of flatware, dishes and glasses. However, the knives and even the vegetable peeler were very dull, bordering on the unusable.
Lots to do in the area. If you're an outdoors type, there's hiking and birding in Madera Canyon. The ANZA complex in Quail Creek has two pools and a well equipped gym. The Grill in the club house offers good food that is well priced. There are also a couple of old Spanish missions within an hour's drive. We didn't get to do everything we wanted to do because we were busy buying a new house in QC. We like it that much.
The owner was responsive to phone calls but not emails while we were there.
We would rent again.
We were planning an extended visit (month) to visit family in the local area. We enjoyed the wildlife coming across our view—especially in the back. We fell in love with the quail families. The house is perfect and Craig is a wonderful host. If you're an active person, there are plenty of things to do. Plus Madera is really close by. And if you're not an active person, nothing beats this quiet property. Read the other reviews for other great reasons to stay here. This will be the FIRST place I will to rent for future visits!
We really did enjoy our holiday in this lovely "Desert Squirrel" home. It was very comfortable and as others have mentioned, very close to all that Quail Creek has to offer.
We would of liked a second TV as we had some very chilly evenings! All in all we would definately rent this listing again.
We are two couples in our 60's (Minnesota and California) who came for birding in late April, but wanted the luxury of a golf course home. This is the place. First, like the realtors say, location. Second, immaculate. Third, spacious.
The development is a beautiful, floweringl hillside, golf course community, but this home is a half block from the course, so you have a wilderness feeling because it is near the end of the cul-de-sac, but still quite close to everything. We saw many quail and other birds out the backyard which stretches to an arroyo and desert. It is 10 minutes from a large Safeway. 20 minutes from the world-famous Madera Canyon. 20 minutes from the Tucson airport. 30 minutes to the Tubac artist community with the Shelby's world-class restaurant. Also, within the development, I think the houses on this street might have been among the first built in the development, because you can walk (or use the bike in the garage) to go the 2 minutes around the block to the clubhouse for workout in a first-rate work-out center and three pools. Also, the excellent club-house restaurant with 2-3 specials every night, allowed us to save the time having to drive into town for dinner when we didn't want to do that. The staff at all the facilities were super friendly and the owner of the house was very attentive. Great satellite TV also with unnumerable stations. Brand new washer and dryer. Both bedrooms are spacious with excellent supportive beds (for those with back care needs), and the master suite has a huge walk-in closet. Shower stall was super clean. Kitchen was also super clean and well equipped with beautiful high-end earthenware, though we only ate breakfast and made our hiking lunches there. We have several friends who have rented elsewhere in Green Valley who tried to get us to stay elsewhere, but we were glad we paid the little bit extra to get this first-rate place in Quail Creek. I have stayed at many VRBO rentals all over the world: If want or need to be in the beautiful Arizona desert, this is the place!!!
Very nicely furnished home with great location near the clubhouse and pools in Quail Creek, an over-55 community near Green Valley, AZ. The house was clean and included all the items needed to maintain it (garbage bags, laundry detergent, etc). The backyard overlooks a wash with lots of wildlife...we saw bobcat, coyote, bunnies, and many quail and birds. We would rent again.
We are so glad we chose this house. It was perfect. All of Quail Creek Resort is very pleasant but this home has one of the best locations within the community. It is on a quiet street, backs up to an open area of natural desert, yet it took us only a couple of minutes to walk over to the pools and other recreational facilities, club house and restuarant. The back patio is so enjoyable with its beautiful desert setting. Many mornings we watched a pair of coyotes trot by along the wash. At night I have never seen so many stars. The community is very quiet with little traffic. The beautiful Santa Rita Mts.
are just to the east. Neighbors are friendly. We like the open floor plan of kitchen, living room, and office in the center and each bedroom/bath located off on separate wings. The furnishings are attractive but not over-bearing. There were lots of comfortable places to sit. We brought our dog, Winston, who is very clean and well-trained, uses his own bed, and we are overly fussy with him. So it worked well for us. This wouldn't be true for every dog since the carpet is white, the patio is not fenced and there are cacti, etc. We definitely hope to stay in this home again.
Quail Creek is 4 miles outside of Green Valley, so you get the quiet nights and bright stars away from the city! The resort of Quail Creek has everything you need including recreational activities and a restaurant.
It is also close to Madera Canyon, a world class bird watching destination.
