About Mrs Margaret Holmes
The photo is of our family on our golden wedding holiday. We build Culdene for my parents, and Kiln View where we now live, for my newly married daughter. The photo shows what looks like a detached cottage but is actually two separate flats with the two doors at the front belonging to Culdene. Kiln View's entrance is at the back. Both flats are completely separate. We used to run the Edwardian house next door as a guest house but retired in 2000 and moved to Kiln View as work had taken our daughter away.
Mrs Margaret Holmes purchased this Apartment in 1982
Why Mrs Margaret Holmes chose Warton
We love living here on the slopes of beautiful Warton Crag, a local beauty spot, as it is in the village yet feels in the country.

Thank you for your kind words.
Culdene is situated on the slopes of Warton Crag a local beauty spot. In the village there are the ruins of the Old Rectory and it is also reputed to be the place from where the ancestors of George Washington came. Leighton Moss Bird Sanctuary is very close and we are central for visiting The Lakes to the north, the Yorkshire Dales east and the Forest of Bowland to the south. The resort of Morecambe is a few minutes away, and also the quiet picturesque villages and bays than surround Morecambe Bay
