THE LOCATION IS IDEAL .....
Just 150 metres from the wonderful, safe white sand beach, promenade and restaurants; 400 m from the main square (Place de la Mediterrannee) with interesting shops, restaurants and cafes; 350 m from the picturesque marina area; Within leisurely walking distance of the regular markets held along tthe promenade and in the main square. (On map below see Rue des Amandiers running east to beach front and just north of Avenue du Roussillon).
THE SETTING IS JUST RIGHT ......
The modest size apartment complex (Residence les Amandiers) is set in a quiet mixed villa / apartment area with nearby shops and restaurants; The 1950's complex has a lovely feel and style with original ceramic art work and delightful gardens.
THE APARTMENT IS ... JUST LOVELY
The balcony provides spectaular sunsets and panoramic views of the Pyrenees; A comfortable, light feel is provided by large windows and French dooors opening on to the balcony; Access to the balcony is from the L-shaped kitchen/lounge area which includes a lovely fitted kitchen; The large bedroom and bathroom open on to the lounge area; There's lots of flexibility for sleeping arrangements - the bedroom comfortably accommodates a double bed with an additional single bed in 'Plage Promenade' and bunks in 'Beachcomer'and the lounge area has a comfy double sofa-bed.

The apartment comes with a designated parking space in the access controlled surface car park; Windows and doors have been upgraded to double glazed pvc with electrically powered rolling shutters while the original 1950's flooor tiles have been retained.
CANET - SO MUCH TO OFFER ....
Apart from a wonderful beach, marina, markets and restaurants, the classic vineyards of Chateau de l'Esparrou, the calm of the lagoon area with its flamingos, pony trekking, etc. are within easy cycling distance of the apartment; There are a number of fabulous golf courses within a few minutes drive. All of this with stunning views of the Mediterranean and Pyrenees and countryside carpeted in sun baked vineyards. Roussillon is the sunniest part of France with about 320 sunshines days a year - no wonder Spring and Autumn visits alo prove popular.
CANET - A SUPER HOLIDAY BASE ....
Canet is the perfect base from which to explore the coast line north and south and the beautiful Roussillon countryside. The colourful Catalan sity of Perpignan is just 10 minutes away and the border with Spain just 25 minutes. The coastline to the South includes such picturesque locations as Collioure and locations such as Ceret and Figueres are saturated in artistic history. The Pyrenees provide something for everybody - from picnicers and walkers to cyclists who love a challenge and adventure sports enthusiasts.

Have stayed at this 3rd floor apartment several times and hope to do so again this year.So near a fantastic beach and the neighbourhood is very quiet and friendly.If you do want to see the great night markets and cafes,the Place Mediterranee is only about five mins walk away along the beautiful promenade and the Marina with the Catamaran that goes to Collioure is five mins in the other direction.At the end of Rue des Amandiers you have a restaurant called La Table which offers three great courses for about 13euro.Also I would recommend the Italian resto near La Poste,called Rimini.There is also a take-out pizza place very near the apt run by a really friendly couple and the bakery is only a minute away too.. The apartment has a lovely kitchen with a balcony off of it with nice views of Les Pyrenees in the distance.Can't recommend highly enough.!!
