About the property

4 Bedroom House on Blue Flag Beach in Spanish Holiday Town

4 bedrooms, large living room and a big kitchen diner and two bathrooms. It also has 3 large terraces - a brand new roof terrace with spectacular views of the beach and mountains behind, a covered terrace on the ground floor and a first floor terrace with a dining table overlooking the beach. The beach is beautiful, gently shelving and very safe for children with lifeguards in peak season. Pedalos, kayaks and windsurfing are all available locally within 5-10 minute walk. From June to August the beach is vibrant and lively with a summer beach bar selling drinks and snacks. Outside high season the beach bar disappears and the beach is peaceful and perfect for quiet relaxation.

The house is close to shops, restaurants and cafes. There is the option of either relaxing on the terrace/beach or pursuing a variety of more strenuous activities such as cycling, walking, diving, jet skiing or sailing. A local marina is 5 minutes walk away.

In Puerto de Mazarron, a resort popular with Spanish holidaymakers there is a wide variety of restaurants and bars and beach based activities. The new marina offers fishing trips and boat trips along the coastline, as well as several diving centres.

There are plenty of places within driving distance including Cartagena, a naval port with a Roman theatre and amphitheatre which is 30 minutes away. Granada is approximately 2 1/2 hours drive away and easily manageable for a day trip.

It is a perfect destination for a family holiday or a group of friends. Please note that although we welcome guests with a well behaved dog, the house is unlikely to be suitable for larger or more active dogs as there is no garden and dogs are not allowed on the beach (the nearest dog friendly beach is about a mile away).

Please note also that we do not accept long term winter lets (over 6 weeks) as we use the house ourselves all year.

Why Colette McAlister chose Puerto de Mazarrón

We viewed the house on Christmas day 2002 and by the time we returned home two days later had had our offer accepted and a contract drawn up. The opportunity to own a house in such a glorious location was too good to miss. Over the years we have had many wonderful holidays here with family and friends. There is something for everyone from lively holidays in the summer when Puerto de Mazarron is buzzing with Spanish holidaymakers to relaxing breaks off season playing golf or just chilling on the beach.

What makes this house unique

The best thing about the house is the location. Even in the height of summer there are quiet times first thing in the morning or after dark where you can enjoy a coffee or late night drink on the beach in peace. Off season you can often enjoy it in complete solitude. The beach is perfect for young children and the house ideal for two families to holiday together.We continue to upgrade the house (e.g. air conditioning and wifi) and last year invested in a new roof terrace which has transformed the outside space.

We really liked the property.

We had a good time in this lovely house on the beach. We took advantage of the three terraces until the winds got going! The kitchen is well stocked with kitchen utensils, crockery etc. One thing missing, a couple of shelves for cosmetics and washing products would be useful in the downstairs shower room. We would recommend this property to families with young children as the beach is excellent and the sea is shallow . Puerto de Mazarron is an excellent venue with lots of shops and restaurants. The marina is a wonderful place to spend time people watching. Viggos restaurant is good value, lovely food and attentive staff as is Gula Gulas, and la Freidura, these are all on the pedestrianised marina front. There are plenty of supermarkets for home eating. We will be back!

perfecte ligging aan het strand

Woning met prachtig uitzicht vanaf het dakterras. Fijne woonkeuken die van alle gemakken is voorzien. De schoonmaak liet echter wel wat te wensen over. In de winter is de omgeving erg stil en auto noodzakelijk om boodschappen te doen in het centrum.winkeltjes en restaurants zijn in de winter veelal gesloten in de buurt.

The house sits right on the most beautiful beach with views also to the mountains. The beach is sandy and the bay very safe for children. There are various local bars and restaurants and a wider selection in the main Port which is about a mile away. Great for walking and cycling, fishing, snorkelling and scuba-diving.

It is perfect for sitting by the sea in the morning and watching the sun come up or chilling with friends on the large terrace in the evening watching the sun set!
