Fantastic place

We stayed at Casa Tia Antonia in February/March 2016 for one month. What a beautiful place. We were greeted warmly by Carlos and Juan. The apartment was clean, well furnished and the kitchen well equipped. The large terrace was very comfortable. The view of the Mediterranean was spectacular. We did not rent a car; we used public transportation (city bus, intercity bus and train) to go to Sevilla, Granada, Ronda, Cordoba and Nerja. We loved the surroundings (long walks on the promenade by the sea, restaurants, markets, bakery etc). We had a terrific vacation. Thanks again Carlos and Juan for everything. Great apartment , amazing views

The apartment was amazing with an excellent location right by the beach. Carlos was really lovely , he met us at the apartment

and showed us around the spotless apartment , everything was very clean and new. It had a welcoming feel to it and of course the balcony ,where we spent many hours with a glass of wine and pan y tomato (homemade) of course listening to the waves lapping the beach. El palo is a fantastic place to stay , on the weekend the beach is busy with all the locals which just adds to the charm of this little town . Lots of fish restaurants all along the beach and of course the sardines . All I can say it was a really relaxing holiday in a lovely apartment with a charming owner . Would we go again , definitely . Thank you Carlos

Lovely seaside apartment

We (2 adults) spent the second week of March 2015 in this modern, clean and fresh 2-bedroom apartment. It is well equipped, has good Wifi and lots of international channels on the satellite TV, though we could only find 3 English language (news) channels. But that’s not what we had come for.

The main attraction for us was the property’s location about 40 metres from the sea. You can enjoy the sound of (mostly) gentle waves by day and night from the large balcony. Although the area was busy on our first Sunday, at this time of year almost all the local bars close at 7pm and after that you just get a few joggers and dog-walkers. The nights were still quite cold, so we didn’t sit out for long and the electric heaters supplied kept the flat cosy inside. The photos do give an accurate impression.

There were only a few, minor negatives: I found the mattress in the small (single) bedroom a bit hard and occasionally I was disturbed by noise from the busier road behind the property. The lighting in the living room felt a bit dingy, and we had problems getting the shower to work properly (but once you are familiar with the controls, it turns out to be an excellent shower indeed). The bathroom itself is very, very small; just big enough for one person (and we are small ourselves). I think someone of a larger build would find it a bit uncomfortable. There is no separate toilet (as suggested in the “Facilities” summary) and the bathroom should really be called a shower room. The rooms are not especially large; I would estimate that the large balcony has been included in the declared floor area of 60 m².

The walk from the apartment along the sea front into Malaga is very pleasant, but it is 6 km to the cathedral and took us about 1 ¼ hours. However, there are frequent buses (No. 3 or 11) that take only 20-25 minutes, and it’s only a 5-minute walk to the nearest bus stop in Carretera Almeria, where you’ll also find a supermarket and lots of other shops.

Carlos, the owner, made us feel very welcome and the bottle of wine and water on arrival was very much appreciated (tip: a bottle of milk is helpful, too), as were the condiments in the kitchen cupboards. All in all, we had a very enjoyable time in this sunny apartment and would highly recommend it for 2-3 people (did not try the sofa bed in the living room). We may well be back.

the apartment was new and very very clean, aslo just at 3 metres from the beach , all the local people were super nice and i loved my holiday over there ,

Best holiday

We stayed with our 10 month old baby one week at this apartment and had the best time. Carlos and his parents are lovely people who help you in every situation to make the stay as easy & nice for you as possible. for example they organized a travel cot for our baby, aswell a high chair for the apartement and child seat for the taxi which was organized and already waiting at our arrival at the airport. the apartment is perfect located. the neighbourhood is lovely and you just feel comfortable in any way. we are already planning our next stay :)

perfect location

It was a perfect break, and the apartment was well equipped for all our needs. There was a very welcome bottle of wine and a bottle of water in the fridge on our arrival and other guests had left 1/2 bottles of basic things like olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper etc saving us having to buy vast quantities of basic items. There was also Wi-Fi in the apartment and the TV and dvds came in use one rainy afternoon. A big plus for two ladies was that the shower was fantastic!

The view from the apartment is magical, with palm trees and the sea literally in front of the building. My daughter and I enjoyed watching the world go by, the joggers, cyclists, families’ etc making great use of the wide pavement that runs all the way to Malaga City. The front is also shared with numerous small restaurants that serve delicious fresh fish, including the local speciality of grilled sardines, grilled outside on wood fires.

We loved the food, the setting and its truly Spanish feel, and the owner’s care and attention was very reassuring. We definitely will be returning, many thanks!
