This is a fairly new log home nestled in the heart of the White Mountains.....

The first floor great room features a wide screen HDTV, stone fireplace fired by propane insert and high speed internet access. The kitchen/dining area is equipped with all new appliances. The master bedroom features a queen size bed, private bath and a walk-in closet. The second level offers a full bath and two large bedrooms. One bedroom has two twin beds, and the other has one full bed. Both rooms have ample closet space. This home is a close drive to most major attractions offered in the Mount Washington Valley.

In the summer, a five minute drive brings you to the Mt. Attitash recreational area where you can enjoy the alpine slides, waterslides, horseback riding, mountain biking, a four-person bungee jump and much more.

Story Land, 'Where Fantasy Lives' is less then a three mile drive from the house. All other major attractions, to numerous to mention, are just a short drive from your vacation home.

Winter in the Mt. Washington Valley is a special time of year. You can enjoy downhill and cross country skiing, snowshowing, snowmobiling, sledding, ice skating, hiking, moose watching or how about a relaxing sleigh ride. Did I mention shopping? Remember, there is no sales tax in New Hampshire.

All of the above is just a fraction of what the White Mountain Valley has to offer year round.

The cabin is well built and furnished with all the necessary creature comforts. It's a nice quiet street and the house is close to many great attractions ranging from hiking trails, ski mountains and many excellent restaurants.

Our third time back, and still amazed and delighted

We have rented from George and Patti twice before and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and this third time was just as amazing as the first. The cabin is meticulously maintained and is the epitome of comfort. So many thoughtful extras make it a dream to stay there and George and Patti could not be any more welcoming and gracious. They even accommodated a last minute unplanned change to our travel plans, making us very grateful.

As mentioned in several other reviews, the cabin is stocked with towels, soaps and kitchen staples like paper towels and spices for cooking. The full laundry in the basement makes it easy to travel light and to wash sweaty ski clothes daily. Although it was cold, we still like to grill out and the grill was ready to go. Three bedrooms makes plenty of room for kids or for parties of adults, and the sleeper sofa in the basement gives a little extra capacity. The gas fireplace (nice upgrade from before!) adds plenty of extra warmth as well as providing that cozy visual effect, and no smoky smell in the house.

If you are looking for a very nice place to stay in the White Mountains, any season, look no further. You have found the perfect place with the nicest hosts. Book it at once!

WOW! WOW!! WOW!!! - Great for Dust Allergies too!!

Upon our arrival to the house, including entering the house, all we could say over and over again was "WOW!" The house was meticulously clean and so nicely done. What a difference from our previous rental experiences! The basement entertainment room was also clean (no musty smell!).

Keypoints:

* the flooring was hard surface - tile and wood flooring - with only a few scattered area rugs so it was perfect for our daughter's dust allergies.

* the house was well stocked so we didn't need to run to the store to buy things like garbage bags and salt.

* both the owner and housekeeper checked in with us to make sure that everything was as expected.

* there was a private neighborhood beach area on the river 0.1 miles walk, which was the perfect get out point for tubing on the river. (we would drive about a mile on the dirt road, to a great point to put in for river tubing and leave our car. Upon reaching the beach area, we would walk back to the house and then I would ride my mountain bike back to the car to pick it up. Perfect!)

* We enjoyed the firepit and roasting marshmallows too on a few nights.

* 2.5 miles (5 min) to Attitash and 3.0 miles to Storyland plus near some great hikes (and 42 miles to Santa's Village). One day we took Bear Notch Road to go hiking on the Kanc. Highway (14 miles)....which is much easier than going through the towns. I much prefer being in the Glen area, 8 miles north of N. Conway, away from the mess there.

* Favorite restaurants: the donuts and deli at White Mountain Cider Co. as well as Margarita Grill.

Normally after renting, I have suggestions for the owners on how to improve the property but I did not have any this time. Part of me is hesitant to share how wonderful the property is for fearing that it will make it more difficult to rent in the future. :-)

After a week in the home, it was hard to return to our imperfect home....but hope to return to this property year-after-year in the future.

Stunning log cabin

This was our first time our family of 6 adults stayed in this beautiful log cabin-style home and we absolutely loved it!! In the past, we have rented several homes/condos in the White Mountains and this is the first one that is truly stocked with everything you need and with all the comforts of home. We were provided with an ample supply of every paper product imaginable as well as soaps, cleaners, and even laundry detergent to carry us through the entire week. Other than food and drink, there was little else we needed to buy. The kitchen is nicely organized with plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses and silverware. The large back deck with gas grill was perfect for cooking all our meals. The entire house from top to bottom was spotlessly clean and all the beds were very comfortable and in good condition. Air conditioning was much appreciated, especially on those hot July days we experienced. We enjoyed the peaceful, quiet nights sitting around the outdoor stone firepit (firewood included!) and WiFi was convenient for those with laptop computers. It is centrally located to a variety of restaurants, shopping and attractions. There is so much to love about this home. It really is the perfect vacation rental and we would love to return.

Absolute gem!

This was our second stay at the Roys' home, and we are looking forward to many future visits! The house is spacious, allowing 4 adults and 2 children to have plenty of room, but also very cozy feeling with all the thoughtful touches. Everything is so well thought-out, and the house has everything that you could need. The kitchen is stocked with every type of pot, pan, dish etc. making eating in very easy, but the house is so convenient to restaurants and attractions that it is easy to be out too. We visited during the winter, but are hoping to also make a fall or summer stay this year and take advantage of the gorgeous wrap-around deck. George and Patti are such wonderful hosts, and this is the perfect vacation house!

Warm, Charming, Comfortable and Sophisticated........What more could you want?

We found this beautiful cabin to be extremely comfortable and charming. The location is perfect, centrally located to all outdoor activities, yet very close to nice restaurants and shopping. The owners provided everything anyone could possibly want in the way of amenities. They called the day after our arrival to ask if we were in need of anything and provided some great restaruant suggestions. We have been renting houses through VRBO for the last 10 years, this home is at the top of our list of favorites!

Wonderful vacation home
