good and pleasant stay
KOHLHEIM Christian (the owner)
The listing description is very accurate and the location is not touristy at all which suited my family and I just fine. The layout of the Riad is beautiful with all the facilities that I needed to make my stay comfortable. The iron was locked away and the dvd player was not connected, however I went to the main reception and asked for our associate Muhammad and they called him and he came at a time requested by me and connected the dvd up with a cable he bought and provided with the iron the exact same day.
The property was clean and well maintained too. The property has air conditioning in all the bedrooms and living room which is more than enough for the month of August where we saw temperatures of up to 48 degrees.
The owner Christian always responded back to any enquiry I had no matter how big or small. Muhammad our associate in Morocco was very courteous as was Ahmad our taxi driver, who waited over an hour for us at the airport. Muhammad came two days we were due to leave to ask if we wanted the taxi back, which we agreed to.
I have already recommended to friends and family that they should definitely go and they will not be disappointed.
On site there is not many activities for children apart from the two large swimming pools and the children's pool too. My children enjoyed being at the pool during most of the day and then they would all come back, shower and we would go off exploring Marrakesh when it was a little cooler.
On site there is also a tour provider which can take you on day tours or several day tours so there is no need to go out in the main Medina and look for tour providers. However I would always recommend that you haggle. You always should haggle in Morocco. Its totally normal and do not feel funny about haggling.
There are also 3 cafe/restaurants on site which are about the same price as the main Medina. Their food is alright and we had eaten at the restaurants many times. The average cost for a meal without a bevrage is about 40- 50 dirhams which is about £3.50.
On site there are two shops. You have to be savvy though as they add the products together super fast using a calculator. My husband asked them to recalculate the totals on two different occasions as it all seemed too high and it came out much lower than calculated. We did a bigger shop from 'carrefour' (shopping centre), which we went to with a taxi.
Overall we had a great time and loved every minute of our stay.
Excellent place on the edge of the medina. Wonderful facilities with the feel of an authentic Moroccan house. Shops and cafe's close by in the apartment complex. Would strongly recommend to anyone visiting Marrakech.
