Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Vineyard Haven - Kettle Hole Ln

3 Bedrooms + sleeping loft. Sleeps 8

It's everything that is wonderful about the Vineyard! A private up-island feel that's still close to town and restaurants. Three bedrooms and a sleeping loft sited beautifully on 3 acres with access to hundreds of acres of private farm land.

Large post-and-beam barn converted into an amazing entertaining space, spacious deck, outdoor living areas. A true vineyard gem! As part of Pilot Hill Farm, the house provides access to a small family farm (you can get farm-fresh eggs and produce every day!), walking trails, and a private beach. Maid and chef services available upon request.

Renovations in 2015 include new bathrooms, painting, flooring, and windows. We also added new AC system!

Cozy spot!

  • 4 of 5

This property sits peacefully upon a lovely expanse of grassland, and is cozily tucked into a gentle wooded area. The home is warm and inviting, a perfect spot to gather with your people as you share steaming mugs of warm drinks, or glasses of wine in the evening. Walking in the woods -- to the beach, and beside the neighboring farms -- was our favorite thing to do each day....really, just beautiful and so peaceful. The farm is off the beaten path, but the town is close, so going out to dinner or shopping was easy.

It was a nice spot for our little reunion of family, only marred by the lack of hot running water throughout our stay. Thankfully, my husband is handy, and he crawled into the full outdoor closet, where we found the water heater, stood carefully on top of lots of stuff and diagnosed the water heater issue. After spending about 30 minutes in the closet, in a not very cozy position, he drained the hose, then reset it. He had to continue to do that each time we decided we wanted hot running water. The reset sometimes lasted a day, and sometimes just a few hours. The error signal from the heater was loud, so it was hard to ignore. The handyman that the owner told us to call was not quick to help, and just kept instructing us how to reset it, and my husband had already figured that out. It needs to be fixed or replaced, the reset doesn't hold. The handyman sent someone out to help the second night we were there, and he did not know what to do, my husband had to explain it. He was very nice and helpful, but he agreed that it was bigger than him and my husband. The owner was responsive, but reliant on his handyman, who wasn't very helpful. It was unfortunate that we paid the price we did for each night, when we had to be the ones in charge of whether or not the hot water was running.

We loved the property and we would recommend it, but make sure that you won't have to stress over being the ones to figure out how to get hot water each day.

Beautiful, tranquil stay in Martha's Vineyard

  • 4 of 5

This was a wonderful visit to Martha's Vineyard. Vineyard Haven is a wonderful location on the island, and this particular property is on a very gorgeous, tranquil and quiet area that is centered around Pilot Hill Farm. The farm is beautiful, and the setting of this house amongst the farm site is quite special. It is close to downtown, but you are surrounded in woods and feel completely removed from the hustle and bustle of the busier sections of the island. We had great access to the island.

In the evenings we lived on the deck. We had visitors and made dinner and relaxed in the backyard for hours at a time. There are were hardly any bugs, and it was very comfortable to stay outside and eat, talk and relax. We were frequently visited by 2 peacocks, presumably from the nearby pilot hill Farm. Every morning we walked down to the farm to buy some fresh eggs and garden vegetables. The deck and backyard is an entire living area unto itself! You truly unwind here!

The great room is very comfortable and a holds many people. You can read, play games, or work on-line; the internet is fast. At the end of the day, it was a nice place to relax and take a break. My son slept in the loft upstairs which was very comfortable, and my 2 daughters slept in the other loft, which was also quiet and comfortable. Our family included my wife, 3 grown children, and my 2 90 year old parents. It was a bit tricky for my parents in the lower bedroom, but they actually did quite well!

All beds/mattresses were new, firm but soft, and better than most. Sleeping was great, and there were air conditioning units in each room allowing us to remain cool during our week at the end of july when it was fairly hot and humid.

The kitchen is on the small side but in truth, we did our dining outside; it was perfect. There is a large dining area in the great room. The house is pretty cool and interesting. It was immaculate; when we arrived, the cleaning crew had everything done that needed to be done.

Noah and Lauren were wonderful to work with. They provided the personal touch to their house, were readily accessible, and were terrific hosts. It was very nice knowing that they were easy to get a hold of, and really wanted our stay to be a good one!

It was a great week in Martha's Vineyard and I would come back, and also recommend this house to others!

Love this house! Cozy, sunny, homey, sweet.

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful set of homes in this Pilot Hill community with access to sweet little beach that is quiet and perfect for long walks as well as swimming and lounging. This house has a large deck where most of the summer stuff happens.. Plus a large living room - the barn - that's great for game-playing on rainy afternoons. A nice wide lawn for catching fireflies and playing hide and seek! Owners are wonderful, interesting people who are willing to help at any time. Five minutes from Vineyard Haven - and well situated to access the wonders of the island!

Lovely and serene with an awesome deck and beach

  • 5 of 5

Such a pretty character filled summer home! The kids loved the sleeping loft and playing games on the expansive lawn. We slept 8 comfortably. We all enjoyed the large open space of the barn and the deck was perfect for meals and barbecuing. It was such a pleasure to walk and bike down to the private beach which was perfect for SUPs! Drinks on the beach watching the sunset... we had the a perfect weekend in this cozy and enchanting home. Highly recommend this part of the Vineyard and Pilot Hill, very close to town but with a real country feel.

Restful, Private, Comfortable...Classic Plus+

  • 5 of 5

Restful, Private, Comfortable. I enjoyed every element of the stay. This is what the Vineyard is all about. Private setting with a nice private beach. A great location to launch exploration of Vineyard Haven, Tisbury, Menemsha and Aquinnah. Don't miss the Farmer"s Market in West Tisbury on Satuurdays. This is an easy split for two families with room to breathe and relax. This place and this location will make you feel like you grew up here. Enjoy.

The Vineyard offers fantastic beaches, great restaurants, shopping, hiking, sailing, fishing, and family entertainment. Our house is ideally located in a private wooded location, but still has easy access to the island's three main towns. Note that the map shown locates the house in the wrong area--we are just outside of Vineyard Haven off of Lambert's Cove Road walking distance to the beach.
