Travelled with family for a weeks holiday, 5 adults and 2 children under 5 years' we loved staying at Summer Lodge, the children didn't want to leave. We finally arrived at Summer Lodge over 2 hours late due to being involved in an accident, the home owners were very understanding arriving late was no problem to them. The house is definitely 5 star accommodation, very clean, had everything you needed including child gates for the children's bedroom which was good, and a lovely welcome of complimentary wine, milk, tea, coffee and biscuits to get the holiday started. We enjoyed the pool very clean and warm and the children enjoyed the games room and garden. Location was great, 10 mins drive into Weymouth seafront there you have lovely restaurants and kids adventure parks, so lots to do for all ages.
Overall we all enjoyed the holiday, and would recommend to others. The deposit was paid back into my account within four days of leaving which was good.
Met Mr& Mrs Flan, they had left a lovely welcome pack. We were briefly showed around the property and then left to ourselves.
The property is huge with large well appointed bedrooms. Plenty of everything for everyone, including televisions.
Initially a slight mix up with the presentation of the security deposit, however everything was sorted the next day.
I selected this beautiful house because it has an indoor swimming pool and our family break had to be in February so I thought whatever the weather could throw at us we would have a good time, and WE DID!
We rented the house for a week and we had our children and grandchildren with us for the weekend. They used the pool several times a day and absolutely loved it. The parents enjoyed the games room for watching the rugby and listening to the juke box whilst I loved being with the grandchildren in the spacious living area down stairs.
On Sunday night the left and eight of our close friends joined us on the Monday morning. They had each brought a main meal so that no one had too much work with catering for our large group. The kitchen has absolutely everything you could possibly need including the expresso coffee machine which was very popular. There is also an extra fridge freezer to accommodate all the food we brought. The living spaces were perfect for getting together as a whole group or having spaces to having a bit of time from the main group.
One of our party used to come to Weymouth as a child so he knew all the beauty spots, so each day we had a trip out and so the most amazing scenery. This area has so much more than I was expecting. We walked along the promenade of the fantastic beach at Weymouth but did not go on it. That treat lies in store for our return trip to this beautiful house in spring or summer months when our grandchildren will be able to enjoy the beach as well as the indoor pool!
Thank you Michael for making this holiday so easy for us. It was great to use your fabulous house.
Just got back from having a great weekend away for my sons 21st in this lovely property, so chilled and laid back with a lovely pool and a fantastic room to play a game of pool and listen to music on the jukebox, or have a game on the xbox Three nights not long enough in my opinion a week would of been better everything you could ever want was on tap must visit again
The Flann's were incredibly helpful pre-stay and even more hospitable upon our arrival. It was a surprise stay for my Mother to celebrate her 60th birthday. As I arrived the Waitrose delivery had beaten me to the house, but Mike (owner) had already packed this away into the cupboards and fridge. The welcome pack was all the things that we had forgotten - which was perfect!
The one bit of feedback I would have was the pool was great, but it was a little cold in November for the kids. I know the heater was on - but functionality was incredibly high brow so we didn't want to play with anything.
Would love to book again for Christmas but it's already booked. :( thank you for your hospitality we will definitely be back.
Great lodge, pool and layout of the house for us with one side for the activates/noise and other side of the house to sleep and not be disturbed, close to the beach too and we had good weather too which we made full use of. we had a great time whilst there and would recommend it to all
