Number 14 Margate Gardens.

This ground floor 2 bedroom apartment is in a safe, gated, cozy condominium complex which is right on the south coast in Hastings. It is directly across the road from the beach and the boardwalk where you can stroll along and watch the sun set before enjoying a drink at one of the many restaurants and bars. A leisurely ten minute walk brings you to the famous Rockley (or Accra) Beach, one of the best beaches in the West Indies. There are also many other local amenities within walking distance like banks, shopping, small grocery store, Laundromat and much more.

Just outside your door there are beautiful, tropical gardens with a lovely refreshing pool in the centre for you to use. The complex is a beautiful, safe little haven where each apartment is private but there is also a community, friendly feel to the place.

The apartment offers 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, open plan living, dining and kitchen area as well as a lovely outside patio area.

Great apartment in a great location.

This is one of the best properties we have stayed in. Alexis was great to deal with before and during our stay. Although she couldn't meet us on our arrival at the property she arranged for Juliet to let us in and show us around and then Alexis came next morning to introduce herself.t he apartment is very spacious and well equipped. We also think it has the best location within Margate Gardens as it is in the far corner from the pedestrian entrance and is therefore very secluded with little or no passing foot traffic. We loved chilling out for breakfast on the patio before heading off to a beach. On day 3 we were visited by a troop of Monkeys passing through. This was one of the highlights of our stay.

There is a supermarket next door in Lanterns Mall and the larger Massys store is a few minutes away by car. We hired one for most of our stay from Top Car rental who are based in Rockley and delivered and collected the car.

Made breakfast some days and on others went to Artsplash Cafe about 100yds west out the front gate.

Rockley Beach is 10 mins walk along the boardwalk or highway 7. Dover beach and Miami /Enterprise are great a few mins drive east or Browns beach a few mins drive west.

Great restaurants nearby include Blakeys, Tapas, Shakers, Berts and Mojos. The latter two are about half a mile away but we just jumped in a beep beep /reggae bus which are every few seconds on h7 and cost 2bbds to anywhere. We also used the bus to Oistins Fish Fry on Friday which was great fun. Get a bus back too not one of the taxis plying for trade.

Cheapest beach for sunbeds is Dover on the Gap.

Fave restaurant Shakers.

Try and get to Huntes Gardens. Beautiful.

Our flight back was late evening and Alexis allowed us to check out late as noone was checking in to the apartment that day.

All in all we had a great time in this apartment and love Barbados. The drivers here are the most courteous we have ever seen and the Bajans are the friendliest people.

You will love it.

Quiet, clean, comfortable, convenient apartment

We stayed here for one week and loved this apartment in a quiet low rise condo development with a smallish swimming pool that is great for cooling off at the end of the day or a wake-up swim. The property is as it described - two large air conditioned bedrooms that sleep 2 people each, 2 bathrooms (1 with a shower and 1 with shower/bath), fully equipped kitchen with enough pots and pans to cook almost anything, plenty of utensils and silverware and dishes. The location is ideal - right on the Hastings Main Road (hwy 7) across the street from Tapas Restaurant and immediately west of Lanterns Mall. There are many restaurants and fast food shops, mini-marts, souvenir shops and even clothing stores within a 5-10 minute walk. The beach is 2 minute walk but if you want to bathe it is 5-10 walk on a sandy beach either east or west from the property. Even though the property is on the main road, this unit is located at the back of the development and is very quiet with virtually no road noise. The unit also comes with good wi-fi as well as a smart-TV with way too many channels. We agreed that if/when we return to Barbados we would rent this unit again.

Relaxing vacation in a beautiful place

This is the perfect location for a stay in Barbados. We were one-half block from the beach and a beautiful boardwalk that stretched along the beach. Alexis was terrific in every aspect of our planning, indeed in suggesting this location over another we were considering because we had our 18-month old granddaughter with us, and this ground level apartment was more suitable for a toddler. The apartment has beautiful gated grounds and a pool where we spent much of our time. Alexis was very easy to work with; I would highly recommend the Margate Gardens for your stay in Barbados.

First time in Barbados, definitely not our last!!

Margate Gardens was a great 2 bedroom condo in a secure complex close to all the amenities one could ask for. From dining options, beach access, transportation, banking and shopping ; everything is right there !!! The unit had all the comforts of home, the pool and a/c were a must to battle the heat. It was clean, well maintained and property manager Alexis was super to deal with and she answered all our questions quickly before and during our stay. We would recommend staying at Margate Gardens and visiting Barbados to all. From enjoying a great meal at Tapas, walking along the boardwalk, shopping in Bridgetown, a relaxing day at Accra Beach or by the pool and a nice meal and a glass of wine on the patio watching the sunset; Barbados is truly the jewel of the Caribbean!!!

Wonderful Vacation Experience

We spent 2 weeks at this wonderful condo. We shared it with another adult for 10 days and found the layout perfect for sharing. The bedrooms are located at each end of the condo with the living area and kitchen in between. The condo is clean and has a well equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer. The beds were very comfortable with nice linens. The Margate gardens are spectacular and well maintained by the grounds keepers. The pool area was a great spot to meet new friends and cool off after a day in the sun. We love the location of this property. It is right across the street from the ocean and the boardwalk which we walked every day. Lanterns Mall is next door. It offers iMart (a convenience store), a wine store, a bank/ATM and fast food restaurants. Many great restaurants are within walking distance. Favorites include Tapas, across the street, Shakers (up the side road from Bubba's) and Bistro Monet. Buses to anywhere on the island are available right outside of the condo complex. The Massey grocery store is a 20 minute walk or short bus ride away and provides a wide selection of food items. We ate in a lot particularly for breakfast, lunch and half of our dinners. Oistins is a small fishing village, a 20 minute bus ride away. We bought fresh caught fish there and cooked it at the condo. The Hastings Farmers Market is open Wednesday and Saturday mornings and is a 5 minute walk away. It offers fresh vegetables, fruit and baked breads. Alexis, the property manager, is very attentive and responded quickly to any enquiries or requests we had. She is wonderful to deal with and made our stay in this condo very enjoyable. We have already booked this condo for next February and would highly recommend it to others, without hesitation.

Another great stay

Just spent another fantastic Christmas in Barbados - two great weeks in this lovely apartment. Thanks Alexis for a great stay and making the rental process so easy and straightforward. The apartment proved to be as wonderful as last year. We so enjoyed the outdoor patio, the lovely gardens and the well equipped kitchen during our holiday. The location of this unit is ideal, close to the boardwalk, great restaurants and beautiful Accra Beach. We highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to Barbados, perfect for a family or two couples traveling together. We've already booked our stay next year at Christmas.
