About Helen Vincent
We a family who live in the UK and have a passion for the outdoors and mountains. We all enjoy skiing, snowboarding cycling and sharing these adventures with our children and friends. Having skied in Europe for many years we found we increasingly came back to Porte du Soleil, with its varied skiing, fantastic snow record and easy access from Geneva airport and the UK by car. Every time we stay in our chalet we find it a real struggle to leave!
Helen Vincent purchased this Chalet in 2012
Why Helen Vincent chose Les Gets
We immediately fell in love with Chalet La Penote due to its location, Alpine charm and character, and its views over the valley to Les Gets. Its perfect setting on the sunny slopes provides us an ideal base for enjoying the mountains winter and summer.

A great chalet, ideal for families or groups. Just a 20m walk from a regular Ski bus stop. Great facilities. We had a fantastic holiday.
Lovely spacious chalet
Had a lovely stay in chalet la penote. Very spacious and clean , very inviting . It is a walk from Les gets but after a day of skiing enjoyed the walk up as stretches your legs . Would also love to visit in the summer . Highly recommended
Great for non skiers too
What a fabulous place to stay if you ski as my 10 friends did, or as a non skier like myself. I found it so easy to go up on the lift and meet everyone for lunch. It was really lovely to just find myself a deckchair, sit in the sun and watch some of my group whilst on their lessons. Once I got the hang of the buses (so easy) there was no stopping me, I could then go further afield and get to Alpine restaurants you would never have thought possible to a non skier. I would definitely recommend to friends for winter or summer, the chalet is ideal for any time of year. There is plenty to do in the town, and if you run out of shops you can always take the 5 minute bus journey to Morzine where you will find more shops and plenty more things to do.
I would firstly like to say that the pictures do not do it justice!
Fantastic chalet with everything that you could need and more.
Close to a slope which was great for the skiers but the two members of our party that were non skiers had a bit more of a trek to town and their ski lessons which were at the Chavannes lift. For this reason we needed to use the car a bit more than we planned.
We had a great afternoon skiing on Mont Cherry with it's wide slopes which were empty! And we thoroughly enjoyed a night in with lots of local foods and wine around the large dinning table after a long day skiing.
We found the chalet to be very clean and comfortable with lots of hot water water at all times and the owners were most helpful in answering any of our questions with a very quick response rate.
I would not hesitate to recommended This Chalet to Anyone and i also think it would make a fab base for a biking holiday.
I hope to stay here again soon.
Perfect for large groups
A great Chalet with comfy beds all round. Plenty of room to cook and cater for our entire party. Lots of toilet/shower rooms which is useful, and the showers were brill and never ran out of hot water.
Best bit for us was the fact that the Chalet lies towards the bottom of Mont Chery (which has to be one of the best mountains in the Alps in terms of quiet skiing and incredible views) and so we were able to finish skiing there each day and ski straight back to the Chalet.
The Chalet is also reasonably close to town with an easy walk down and an ok walk back up, provided you have some decent footwear. But for those not wanting to walk, the bus was very easy to use which took us straight to the door.
A great week!
Fab comfy chalet, great locaion for skiing
Wonderful traditional chalet, airy and cosy. We were a big group, but it never felt crowded. Plenty of information available before and during the stay about the chalet and the town, owners very helpful. Chalet Penote was well equipped, super clean, with comfy beds. Perfect space to relax and enjoy the mountains or to chill after a day on the slopes. Excellent location for skiing, only few metres from the slopes and a short picturesque walk to the lovely town of Les Gets, where we literally found something for everyone...amazing bakeries, funky bars, quaint tea rooms, loads of restaurants and shops and of course great skiing. I will definitely be going back to Chalet Penote as Les Gets is a real gem and the chalet ticks all the right boxes. I would consider going back in the summer as the chalet is in such a great spot to enjoy the mountains
Les Gets is a skiing height of 1,173 - 2,2466 m with 201 ski-lifts in the Portes de Soleil, 650kms of piste and 120kms in Les Gets.
