About Jordyn French
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. PAMS Getaways is locally owned by two families who were raised in the Custer area. We learned to appreciate all the wondrous sights that the Black Hills has to offer. With that, it has become our dream to share these sights with everyone and offer a fun place to stay. We are a brand new campground opening June 1, 2016. We look forward to many wonderful years being your choice of campgrounds. Thank you again and God Bless.
Why Jordyn French chose Custer
PAMS is perfectly situated on US Hwy 385 between Wind Cave National Park to the South (approx. 18 miles), Custer State Park to the East (approx. 9 miles), Jewel Cave National Monument to the West (approx. 15 miles) and of course the infamous Mount Rushmore National Monument (approx. 23 miles) and Crazy Horse Memorial (approx. 9 miles) both to the North. Since we are located just minutes from Custer City, it is perfect for those not wanting to be in city limits. Access to the historical George S Mickelson trail (pass required) and the Custer County Airport is just around the corner.

Great cabin, weird location
We chose this property because of the interior of the cabin and it’s closeness to local attractions. We were surprised however to pull up to what looked like a run-down RV park in the middle of an industrial park. The grass was overgrown and there were no trees. It was a nice cabin, however, if you are looking for a “cabin in the woods” experience, this is not it.
A nice simple cabin with everything you need. We visited Custer State Park and Mount Rushmore. We saw two buffalo walking down the road only 15 minutes from the cabin. The scenery directly by the cabin isn't all that impressive, but this was the perfect home base to explore the surrounding areas. Thanks!!!
We are glad that we were the perfect home base for you!!!
Clean and fun!
We loved our stay at Pam's Getaways! It was nice to have a kitchen to make cold water for outings and easy dinners. Our family of 5 could easily sleep here. The cabin was very clean and there were towels for everyone. A few nit picky things that would bump this up to 5 stars: provide coffee, hand soap in the bathroom and plane the bathroom door so that it closes properly. Otherwise, it was just perfect for what we needed.
Economical stay while visiting the sites of western South Dakota!
The property is exactly what we expected and the posting for the property was advertised appropriately. The cabin is small with full kitchen, bathroom, and beds to sleep five. We were attracted to this property due to the full kitchen, its location in the middle of many of the main attractions, the affordability, and the fact we were able to bring our puppy. This property was perfect for us! We utilized it to eat meals and sleep at night while we spent our days touring the area!
This place is great!
This cabin was awesome. Beautiful scenery and location. The cabins are much bigger than they look, 5 people and a dog were able to stay comfortably in the cabin. The cabin and area are very well kept and clean. Would definitely recommend!
The location was nice in a quiet park with very few campers. The cabin served our purpose for a couple days stay and allowed our dogs to come with us. Never used the tv as I believe it was Roku. Beds were not the most comfortable but okay for couple nights. The proximity to attractions was good. Saw Crazy Horse Memorial, Mount Rushmore, and Custer State Park, all nice. Only thing I would say is the burner liners on the stove need changing or cleaned as we almost had a fire boiling eggs due to the dirty burner pans.Other than that, great family trip.
Thanks for letting us know about the foil liners we have boxes of them and will replace them promptly .. Very glad you enjoyed your stay. Look us up again if you get back this way.
