What makes this House unique
SYBIL DOUGLAS HOUSE - Originally built by ship-owner Benjamin Huntting I on the site of the Whaling Museum, the structure, a classic five-bay Georgian, was sold to Capt. Douglas and moved in 1838 to the opposite side at 189 Main St, when Benjamin Huntting II decided he wanted a more splendid home. Note the handsome front door with its elliptical fanlight and elaborately mullioned side windows, and the ornately carved cornice.

Gorgeous Historic Village Home
Beautiful and impeccably restored historic house steps from village! On the very high end of historic village homes. We were initially a little surprised by the art, but fully embraced the experience. The house has everything you would want or need and is perfect for a couples getaway. And the yard and pool are spectacular (and unexpected) for the super convenient location. Night swims are a must. Very highly recommend!
The house has a lot of charm and character! We loved that it’s just a short walk to the restaurants and shops of Sag Harbor! The outdoor space was ideal for dining al fresco and relaxing by the pool. Highly recommend!
Beautiful house so close to town
My family and I had a lovely time in Sag Harbor last week. The house was so spacious we had 2 couples come to stay part of the time and we never felt cramped. It is tastefully decorated with amazing photographs and has everything you need for a brilliant holiday. The owner met us on arrival and responded quickly to all our questions. If the house is available we will certainly be coming back next year!
A gloriously unique and historical property with enviable proximity to the centre of town
The BS house is an atmospheric home of great character and charm. Its generous Georgian proportions and architectural fineness combine with 21st Century elegance and amenity.
The sophisticated interior has an aura of glamour. The rooms are light , serene and spacious, and very tastefully furnished. There are sumptuously comfortable beds, well-appointed bathrooms and an ideally private sun deck and pool.
High impact images from Bert Stern's oeuvre give an added dimension of aesthetic pleasure.
Sag Harbour's restaurants, shops and places of interest are a mere stroll away, adding to the ease and delight of a stay in this exceptional home.
Shannah could not have been more welcoming or accommodating of us.
Clare and Family were superb guests. They truly appreciate the history, uniqueness, and the countless hours of time put in to the personal details of my home. Clare and Family left such a beautiful message on my white board that has become part of a collection of details of the greatest guests. Thoroughly enjoyed hosting Clare and Family at my home.
Amazing house and property for the perfect getaway!
We had a wonderful stay at this property! The house itself was immaculate and perfect for our group of 4 people. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and setup in the backyard and loved that we could so easily walk into town. Shannah could not have been nicer or more thoughtful and we would stay at this property again in a heartbeat!
Juliana & friends were respectful and appreciative guests. They made the beds & left a note on my board with their names & a lovely message. They are always welcome back.
